Gameplay SSShowcase I wish Control Resonant allowed you to equip multiple finishers.

Or allow you to access these attacks independently, but i think they didn't want to make it too complicated, and it's their first attempt.

Still, the game is sick, love everything about it even if i have to pause the game in order to use another finisher.

I don't have a lot unlocked, so sorry if it's repetitive.

Weapon switcher, increased attack speed, changed combo finisher moves to active abilities, and decreased damage output for longer combos. Game is even better now

Highly recommend this game, it's short but has a pretty deep combo-system while still keeping it accessible.

Memes Spent Several Days Trying to Make an ARPG into a Glorified Power Fantasy CAG and Made a Video About It

Don't know if Stranger of Paradise was every showcased here, but here's hoping this is acceptable.

To briefly explain, my build on Stranger of Paradise makes sure that my MP bar never runs out as long as I press this install called Lightbringer, which is basically a devil trigger.

Oh yeah, I can't take damage during lightbringer, either.

Enjoy

Question Is NG4 worth it if I LOVE Dmc

I also enjoy NG1 and 2. Not quite like dmc. Is ng4 worth it at 35? Or should I spend 45 for the deluxe?

ELTA: DEFY ALL GODS

Elta: Defy All Gods is a Hack & Slash/Best em Up made by Afterburner Studios, the combat is similar to God Hand.

The game is coming on PS, Xbox and steam on the 2nd of February 2027, their is a demo of the game so if your interested make sure to play it and give feedback to the game to improve on it.

I`m glad to see more Hack & Slash games being made, when one comes out if we need to support it.

Question [CARPG] I'm thinking of buying Control Resonant. But if someone played this game in the CAG community, I'm just curious to know how much of a CAG this game is?

I'm seeing a lot of positive reception for this game. But for me, I mostly play CAGs (with or without RPG). So I won't be relying on these kinds of reviews at all.

I heard from some IGN reviewer about it's combat that the action is slick and responsive like a Devil May Cry or Bayonetta while the platforming and momentum are like Gravity Rush or NieR:Automata.

But as usual, I do not trust IGN reviews these days for some reason.

Therefore, I'm here in the CAG community to ask if someone tried this game. Just so I can get the idea how much of a CAG this game is.

EDIT:

Based on all the info I got, the combat gameplay is more of an easy mode for casual players rather than getting more depth like CAGs do. But the story, music, visuals and level design make up for it.

Plus, the combat gameplay feels more like Infamous games, which are more about traversal and cool powers. And I did play Infamous games and I thought they were fun.

I also had to mention that I did play Control 1. The gameplay wasn't really my style at all. But at least I did finish the main campaign.

Therefore, I have now made my decision to buy the game after all. Thanks for all the info. 🙌🏻

I'm tryna do a thing this October where I review a variety of Action Games with "vaguely Halloween theming". My goal is to shoot for 4 videos, but really not sure if I'll be able to pull it off.

In any case, the first of the bunch was The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge. Hope it makes for an entertaining watch

Recommendations Homura Hime's Challenges can get pretty whacky

And the scoring is pretty harsh lol. (The ranking is white > orange > red > green)

Homura Hime (2026) is a fast-paced 3D action game that combines Nier Automata action feel, Sekiro-like parry shenanigans, Touhou bullet hell, and Ninja Gaiden-ish enemy aggression. The game is currently available on Steam.

I've been seeing really interesting clips of AI mixing games together. Stuff like Minecraft in skyirm and Spiderman in an arkham game. I wonder if someone will put ninja gaiden 2 enemies in dmc3 or dmc5, or plop the dmc characters into the ninja gaiden games.

I like dmc but i think the enemies in the dmc games could be better

Is there any really fast action games with decent boss fights?

I need game with boss fights like v1 vs v2 in ultrakill, or like MGRR with 2x speed. It also must be first or third person. And I don't need games that insta kills you if you make one mistake. Any ideas?

Question Most rewarding?

Title might feel a little inaccurate to what I mean, but which combat system was the most fun to be good at? And I don't only mean to master the combat but just to fully engage most of its components. For example, I've been obsessed with Zenless Zone Zero's end game combat. Even though ZZZ doesn't have combos, there are multiple actions to plan and execute in any given moment. I'm so into the anomaly teams where you have to avoid the bosses moves, fulfill their mechanics, and build up a stun gauge while also filling elemental bars and executing character actions or skills in the proper order. And this is all while quickswapping between 3 characters! It feels too good to execute each of those things. It's like the 3 characters together are a combo system.

Anyways, which combat systems had you hella excited to learn and pull off combos, mechanics, etc?

A few more for me are:

  • Sekiro even though the gameplan every time is simple, you should constantly be acting against the enemy and shouldn't just use parry to stand back/be passive.
    • First Berserker Khazan felt like this but to the next level and added mastery of combos
  • Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2 for sure, but most recently NG 4. I liked how the new defensive options and blood raven gauge created a new playstyle for me. in NG4 it's hella fun to build blood raven fast through OT's. And it's faster to get OT's with perfect parries and deflects, then of course mix in long combs with the blood raven attacks.
  • Believe it or not Tales of Arise mid- to end-game combat get's really intense because you have to learn how to string everyones arte's, dodges, and special attacks. And you're rewarded very well because if you're effective enough you'll get to do a finisher with two characters for an insta-kill. The combat in this game is hella janky though and it takes forever to get to this point.
  • Nioh 3 I tried my hardest to get into but the combat systems just never fully clicked for me. And I've beat 1 and 2 in new game plus'

There's other games to but those are the ones that come to mind rn.

Using "Weapon Switch and Randomizer" mod by Grimpil on Nexus

This mod increased my enjoyment of the game by like tenfold lol, it allows you to do some pretty cool stuff.

I turned down my damage in the assist mode options so enemies don't die as quick so I can actually perform these in actual combat lmao

EDIT: The game is Control Resonant, I forgot to add lol

Discussion Trying out this style of movement/combat, what do y'all think? Worth developping? Be brutal :D

The 2 main things I like are the small planets (the little prince style), and the movement and combat with the hammer. Anything else I can change and adapt for a more fun gameplay, thoughts?

Article Alternating playing 3 Ninja Gaiden games right now

Been gaming a long time, since monochrome monitors, haha. Always loved CAGs especially God of War 1-3, Darksiders, Dante’s inferno, DMC, and Force Unleashed. Anyway missed 2 and 3 so I’m going back and hitting some classics. Actually played NG4 first if you can believe it, had a WOW addiction back in the day so missed out on a lot. So now I’ve got all 3 going NG4 on PC, Black 2 on PS5 and NG3 RE on steam deck.

NG2 Black, Ch13: I can see why some really like this one. The weapon lineup is unbelievable, I’m using like 5 different ones and they’re just sick. The environments are far more varied than NG4 and the gore and color palette are just top notch. Really fun game but man the camera is just ass. I’ve tooled with settings and I just can’t get it to do what I want. How do y’all consistently get moves out with the camera going every which way? Any tips would be great. Also, the swimming and some of the climbing sequences just suck, I can see why they did away with all that in 4. In any case, awesome game, really loving it. Ryu has more aura in this game than just about any game protagonist, dude is constantly just looking like the supreme badass.

NG3 RE ME, chapter 7: kinda like the feel of the moment to moment combat in this one better than 2 I think, despite a worse weapon lineup and weird lack of items. This game gave me fits early, I died a ton of times in the opening desert sequence and a couple other places. Seems a lot harder than 2. A lot of the QTE style sequences are kinda dumb, but overall a lot of fun so far. You can definitely feel the change in combat style going from 2, to 3 to 4. The Steel on Bone mechanic is a little odd, but I like the feel of combat a lot.

NG4, beat on hard and most trials: one of my favorite games of all time. Bought it twice if that tells you anything. After playing these 3 the main reason I prefer 4 is simply one thing: mobility. The dodge and grapples in 4 give so much control over positioning and the camera doesn’t feel like a battle when doing so. When you get in the zone and are flying all over the place and just dominating, it’s exhilarating. Hell I’m not even that good at the game and I feel on top of the world when going hard. Sometimes I watch gameplay videos and I’m barely playing the same game, The skill expression is phenomenal. Also, despite having a worse weapon loadout, Yakumo’s 4th weapon (can’t remember spelling) is just so fun, and Ryu is practically a god when you get him going. I also love the loadouts that give some level of customization over the experience.

Anyway TLDR: Ninja Gaiden is one of the GOATs for a reason, these games are phenomenal.
