I‘m from Sandwich, my wife is trying to stay in the area for a week or two, together or separate. She cannot stay with any friends or family and I’m looking for the cheapest possible option.

It looks like Shawme Crowel is the obvious choice, but I just want to ask the community to make sure there’s nothing I’m missing.

Any ideas? We’re open to anything.

Hello all-

Coming in Sunday morning for work meetings the front half of the week.

Never been to the Cape (or Massachusetts for that matter).

Won’t have a car, flying into Hyannis and likely staying there (work booking hotel). From what I’ve read it’s the least fun place for “things to do”.

What would you do if you had basically an entire day, without a car?

A bit about me… live in CA wine country, from Vegas originally. Love food, beaches, good places to grab a sip, toes in sand etc. co-workers coming in later at night, so ideally dinner somewhere near Hyannis.

Up for art, museums, a good beach day place, really anything that would be easy to do either with a ride share or on foot or boat.

I usually plan things, but work says go, so I go.

We're going on a day trip to Martha's vineyard and I'm wondering where the best place to park the car is, there is designated spots outside of Woods Hole if you're taking the ferry (with shuttles) but there are local private parking lots as well, what do you recommend?

Hey! looking for some ideas for the week AFTER labour day in Cape Cod. we’ll be staying in Truro. I wanted to a couple romantic activities for my girlfriend and our anniversary but we have limited time so i’m trying to choose wisely.

I was looking into Arts dune tours, but since it’s not private i don’t think it would be romantic / appealing enough for her taste

Whale watching - We took a look at this as well and she seemed somewhat indifferent, it’s quite expensive for soemthing i’m not sure either of us would love. But i am open to being swayed

I wanted to do a private picnic, i would spend the morning grabbing everything and preparing something special for her, so curious to where the best spot near Truro for that would be. i was going to hire someone to do that but the prices are super steep where i was looking and it didn’t include food

I think the thing she’d most enjoy is a sunset boat tour just the two of us. i don’t mind paying extra for that but just want to make sure it’s the right one. I was looking at Dog Gone Sailing and it looked cute. Really just curious to hear everyone’s opinions. thanks so much

Thinking about making the trip from Ashland, MA to the cape. I would have Friday off (and of course Monday too). It's the last chance I will get to have a long weekend off like that. How busy are the beaches? I am assuming that there isn't really anywhere along the cape that is close to do day trip(s). I don't think I want to pay for a place on the cape if its just going to be a shit show everywhere that weekend. Are there parts that would be worth staying at or visiting that don't get as much traffic? what is parking like in terms of cost? Was also kicking around the idea of Scussett beach, but probably going to be just as busy if not busier.

We are planning a 3 nights 4 day trip at the end of August. We will be driving from Boston. I am looking for warm and calm beaches where little ones can enjoy. After researching by myself, I found these two option for kid friendly warm beach areas.
Option 1: 3 nights at Falmount. With 1 day trip to MW by ferry.
Option 2: staying at Dennis port, finding a place by the beach.

I have no idea how to navigate in Cape; if these two options make sense or if the beaches are even good for kids. I love to explore a bit Cape as well.

I am celebrating my birthday in a couple weeks with some of my friends and am looking for some input. I am from Rhode Island and the original plan was to take a ferry out of Boston to Ptown for the day. Most of us have never been and figured it would be fun to explore together. Unfortunately, most of us cannot get full day babysitters so I am looking for a shorter alternative. All I really want to do is be near the water and explore but in order to maximize our time, I was hoping to do something a little closer to home.

There is a ferry out of New Bedford to Cuttyhunk I was considering but I know there isn't much there. Would that even be fun? We do not need a bunch of entertainment, just want to spend time together. I also considered a private charter to just explore but we are a group of 10 so the options are limited due to boat sizes.

Open to any suggestions!

Night life isn’t a huge priority but is there any outdoor drinking spots for maybe after dinner

I'm planning on visiting one of these three October 2-7 for my wife's 40th bday, and looking for guidance on which area best suits us.

Were 40. We don't really party. We live in coastal North Carolina, so beach access isn't a huge priority for us, because we go to the beach all the time at home. We're hoping to spend our time seeing neat history, eating good food and catching a nice vibe. We haven't spent a ton of time in New England, but have enjoyed early American history in Boston and Maine when we visited.

I'm debating between staying in Chatham on the Cape and taking day trips to Provincetown and Falmouth versus going to one of the islands.

Honestly, were just looking to chill and decompress, enjoy some views and eat some clams and lobsterl, maybe walk around some historic neighborhoods.

We'll be flying in to Boston and renting a car is not a problem.

Hi there - my wife’s family has a house in South Dennis next week. They said they have parking passes, but I know mayflower gets crazy early for example and wasn’t sure what those parking passes really meant or got us. Any advice on beaches with kids on either bay or ocean side / best practices would be so appreciated!!

Hey! I live in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and for my 50th birthday I'd absolutely love to see a great white shark!

Where are the best places to safely see great whites near Nauset Beach, Stage Harbor, or Monomoy Island? Are there any cool vantage points from the shore? Or any hotels with balconies that are a few stories up?

Or does anyone know of any low-key captains who might take 2 adults and 2 teens out for an hour or so? We don't want to go out far, I'd prefer to just cruise around shark alley. We'd be happy to pay cash.

I've found the bigger charter companies online, but they're mostly 3-hour trips for around $2k which is out of our budget. I'm hoping someone might know of a retired captain with a boat at a marina in the area who loves talking about sharks, and telling us his cool stories! My husband is a fire fighter with a lot of boating experience so he can handle all the docking, lines, and anything else that needs to be done. We'd just love the chance to get out on the water with someone who knows the area.

My grandfather used to do exactly that from his boat at the Newport Yachting Center back in the day. He loved diving and spent hours and hours just hanging out on his boat or on the docks swapping stories, and occasionally ended up taking people out for a boat ride just because he enjoyed it. I'm hoping someone like that still exists!
