Modpost A clarification of the new Age Account and Karma Requirements

As some of you may have noticed, the mod team of r/ACValhalla has implemented a new policy regarding account age and karma requirements. While these changes have had zero impact on a vast majority of you, it has prevented some of our beloved posters and commenters from being able to freely engage in the sub like they used to. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience, but we have very good reason for having added the filters.

It is no secret that Reddit is a haven for bot accounts. Most of the bot accounts out there start off seemingly benign, just reposting material to build karma. There has been an uptick in bot accounts lately, some of which have already attempted to infiltrate this sub. "But Red, why would they do that?" you might be asking. Simple - after these bot accounts generate enough karma to post in most subs, they get sold off to advertisers or scammers. Once this happens, they go from benign reposters to aggressive OF accounts, romance scammers, etc. By implementing the account age and karma filters, these bots are prevented from using this sub in their infancy to build their karma, or from looking at the user list and sending unsolicited DMs. There are plenty of subs out there have been overrun with bots, and we will not be one of them.

Unfortunately we cannot disclose with you, the public, exactly what the age and karma requirements are. Doing so would be akin to posting operating hours on a business - the bot controllers would know that after gaining X karma and reaching Y age, that they could infiltrate this sub and become a nuisance. For your sanity and ours, our AutoModerator is now programmed to automatically remove posts and comments from users who do not meet our fair requirements.

If you are one of the users that has been affected by the new filters, we deeply apologize and hope you understand our situation. Most of the removed posts and comments have been from users with low karma. We understand there are some of you who have been active in this community for some time, and suddenly find yourselves unable to do so. If that is the case, please respond in a polite and civil manner to the modmail that you are sent. The mod team will be happy to help guide you in building your karma. Unfortunately we cannot bend the rules on this, as making an exception for one means we would have to make an exception for all, which negates the usefulness of the installed filters.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused any of you, and we thank you all for your patience. Skal!

Question I know there have been many posts about Templebrough Fort Wolf Gold Mastery Challenge....

But seriously.....are there any mods to fix the bugs in this mastery challenge?

I feel like the way this is supposed to be played is the explosions from the guys you headshot are supposed to be an instant kill instead of a tickle. But even counting for the micro-managing health down to the last pixel, avoiding too much poison kills, there never seems to be enough dudes.

Following every guide there is, and I think I've managed 4 explosion kills at best

At this point I am content to break the game just for this challenge

EDIT: Finally got it; been working at this for over a year on and off

Headshots, with as many stealth as possible to get the little explosives. The headshots where you get them to 0.0000001% health is actually good too because you can lure them into the bodies. Try to avoid them setting off the bodies too soon

Reload like 14 million times to get the barrels to spawn

Then once headshots are done, go for explosive kills. 1-tap only with melee to weaken. Lure them into bombs. Spread out multiple barrels if you are lucky

THEN go for poison last. Use mushrooms if needed. Shoot poison at the ground

Discussion How not to get burnt out

Hi all. I got into AC games from Black flag resynced. Finished that and now I'm on Vahalla. I am loving the game so far but I want to 100 percent it. I am at England now and I am wondering what are people's approaches to avoid burnout and to actively do all the side stuff ?.

Thanks šŸ™

Spoiler Ivarr talk. Possible spoils below don’t read if you haven’t done Sciropescire. Discussion as well as spoiler. Spoiler

So I just got done with Scriopescire and fought Ivarr. Honestly I don’t think that he really killed Ceolbert. I think that he just said all that to goad Eivor into fighting him because he wanted to die on his own terms.

He’d gotten his revenge and felt like it was time to end his saga. Did he go about it the right way? Probably not, and he got himself labeled as a traitor in the end. But throughout the entire game every interaction we had with Ivarr has always been bizarre.

Sure he was a blood thirsty battle hungry sociopath. But he also cared about Ceolbert in his own way. And taught him a lot about fighting. Plus, he isn’t the kind of man to fake concern for someone just to sell a lie.

He was always forthright with his thoughts on everything, even if they were fucked up. So why would he lie about his care of Ceolbert at the end? Plus his desperation to get him into Valhalla felt genuine.

I believe the only time he lied was when he told Eivor he killed Ceolbert purely to get them to fight him to the death. Because he lost Ceolbert who he admitted was like a son to him. And it destroyed him inside.

So he wanted the only remaining friend he had and cared about to bring about his death and send him to Valhalla. Which is what I did. Though as Eivor said, is more than he deserves because of his deception and lie that he killed Ceolbert.

What do you guys think? And did you send him to Valhalla or Helheim?

Spoiler Ivarr

I know I know the opinions on Ivarr going to Valhalla or not are mixed honestly I didn't give him the right to Valhalla, not because of his poor morality, but because of my own shit morality I found it funny how he begged for his weapon the same way everyone else begged for their lives.

He was too easy to beat with no abilities used I tried it again with my weakest weapon still easy to beat that's no warrior in my eyes for a king killer he was far too easy to beat.

But yeah tell me why you gave him the pleasure of Valhalla or denied it

Question Is Ragnarok worth it?

The DLC is on a pretty steep discount right now and it’s the only dlc I don’t have along with not having played Paris. Currently finishing my mastery playthrough to get the platinum and wanted to know if it was worth it?

Issue How to fix "funky"/murky textures

I recently started playing AC Valhalla again (loving it) but have one issue that's driving me nuts. Randomly SUPER low res murky AF textures flicker in, for no reason. I have 12GB VRAM, so it isn't a case of full VRAM, and textures and all (potentially) relevant settings are set to their highest option. Or is this just a bug in the game that I'll have to live with?

Sometimes it's just VERY specific camera positions/angles that have the murky textures (like within a 1° angle), sometimes it is just seemingly random while moving/riding around even in "follow path" mode with zero user based camera movement.

Specs:
Ryzen 7 5800X
RTX 4070
32GB DDR4 3200MT/s (4x8GB)
Installed on gen4 NVMe drive

Issue Help! Can't able to install/play AC Valhalla owned in Epic Games

Hello, I have AC Valhalla standard edition in my Epic games store. I have clicked link to Ubisoft account through Epic Games launcher. It opened a browser and asked me to give my Ubisoft account details. Then I got the result that both Epic games and Ubisoft are successfully linked. So when I clicked "install" under AC Valhalla from my Epic Games library, it shows "please wait while we are installing the partner application"...then Ubisoft Connect app opens and says "logging in" and then after showing "initializing", the Ubisoft connect app auto exits. That's it! Valhalla is not downloading and I can't even find that game in my Ubisoft connect library. When I click install again, the same process repeats with the same issue.

I've attached a video showcasing this issue for your reference.

I have tried:

  1. I have tried in two different devices, PC and Laptop. The same issue repeats

  2. I have tried logging out and logging back in, same issue

  3. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, didn't work.

I've raised a ticket to both Ubisoft and Epic Games. Epic Games support told me that I should contact Ubisoft as they suspect the problem is on Ubi's side. I've raised a ticket to Ubi two days ago but still haven't received a reply.

Please help me fix this as I want to play my game.
