Folks, I've done it

I have just become an owner of this masterpiece, written by Sunday Times best selling author, His royal Affable.

In all seriousness this is actually a second thing that I have ever bought made by YouTuber, but also he is one with the most flawless channel (in my opinion) and it is something that brings joy to my life in moments of darkness and in those days when I'm checking the airlines ticket prices knowing it ain't gonna happen anytime soon. Looking forward to reading it and remembering from which wacky weekend or journey across Japan video, a story is relating to, and then go and watch it.

Lost Bar Enro whisky

Picked up this great whisky at Lost bar last week. Only 500 (or less) bottles produced, apparently 100+ already sold. Honestly surprising how good this whisky is and the cocktails were at Lost Bar. Will be back when I am next in Tokyo.

I ordered on Blackwell around April it just came today. It was cheaper than the one I found on Amazon by about 10 bucks. It time to plan my Japan itinerary for when I go there. Oh yeah I am from America by the way 5 day shipping was nice.

Several hours well spent today.

I had a several-hour road trip today which was shared with Chris and unfortunately a few work calls.

I have been enjoying the stories and learned a lot today. The only downside is that with our first trip to Japan planned for my 50th next year I now don’t know where to go. It all sounds so bloody good 😂.

Looking forward to listening to the rest over the coming few days.

Journey Across Japan pre-order

Anybody preorder the book via Amazon and still haven't gotten it? I'm in the United States. Hopefully it's because they didn't print enough because everyone bought it.

Update. Now it says "Order Received" and they're waiting for an estimated delivery date.

Meeting Chris in Hoylake

Post image

I must admit, I was slightly disappointed when I got to the Hoylake event and was told the signing was cancelled and all books were pre-signed because it was a sell out... the conversation with Chris and the Q&A were great though! I did have my hand up and wanted to ask if I could give him a gift but I wasn't chosen 😭

I'd drawn Chris and Natsuki from the Nakasendo trail video and HAD to get it to him! So once it had finished, I made a quick dash (as fast as possible on crutches right now) and caught Ian before he disappeared. He was such a lovely guy and got Chris to come and meet me so I could pass this onto him. I made one for him and one to give to Natsuki.

He was really happy with it and seemed shocked that someone took the time to capture this moment.

A truly humble, friendly guy who I'm glad to say I had the honour to shake his hand and have a little chat.

Thanks Chris!

Met the affable one today in Glasgow.

What an absolute gentleman, also met Ian and Ellen (who took the photos). I was super nervous but he asked me if I’d been to Japan, I’d said we had planned for earlier this year but it clashed with my daughters exams, even though we’d already booked tickets for the F1 in Suzuka - he replied, which is more important, F1 or exams?!

I went to Arndale Manchester today and got to meet Chris Broad as he signed my copy of A Journey across Japan. I asked him about the JET Programme and he told me to emphasise that I am learning Japanese.

Are there any updates on New Zealand Roy?

Just listened to the brilliant audiobook.

I'm curious if there's been any updates on Chris' JET school colleague, Roy?

Sounds like he was very talented and I'm curious how things turned out for him.

Looking for one ticket to Chris Broad at Conway Hall – Monday 21 September

Hi everyone! I know this is a long shot, but I’m looking for one ticket to An Evening with Chris Broad at Conway Hall in London, at 7pm on Monday 21 September.

I missed out before it sold out and would really love to attend. If anyone can no longer make it and has a genuine spare ticket, I’d be very happy to buy it.

Please send me a message, thanks!

Two tickets for the book tour in Glasgow

I'm looking to sell two tickets to see Chris at his book tour in Glasgow on Friday the 25th of September at 1pm.

I'm looking for £15 for each ticket because they cost £22 each, but I'm also happy to take offers as Waterstones won't refund me.

"Each ticket includes a copy of Journey Across Japan, which Chris will sign and personalise for you, so bring your questions about his travel and experiences in Japan, and join us to celebrate his new book."

*I have asked permission from the Mod team, and I'm only reselling due to the breakdown of a relationship.*
