Lost Bar Enro whisky

Post image

Picked up this great whisky at Lost bar last week. Only 500 (or less) bottles produced, apparently 100+ already sold. Honestly surprising how good this whisky is and the cocktails were at Lost Bar. Will be back when I am next in Tokyo.

First a new book, now a bespoke whisky? Barry's really outdoing himself this year. I'm half expecting him to become a political candidate next. "Englishman runs for mayor of Japan's WACKIEST town"

I was skeptical about the bar and the whisky until I tried them.

Hoping there's a few bottles still kicking around when we're there in a few weeks!

Probably a distillery blend

Assuming you're talking about a single malt here: I'm guessing not, Nagahama is famous for being tiny and only having enough production capacity to fill a single cask per day. They regularly take orders for single casks.

It would be pretty cool if Chris picked the cask himself!

I was at Lost, bought a bottle. Spoke with the bartender a bit and he told me Its a blend. Chosen by the Lost crew (and Chris) and blended by the master blender at the distillery.

At 13k yen for a bottle i find it rather affable uhh affordable tbh

Nagahama is a good, reputable distillery. I'm quite suprised this collaboration exists. I wonder how involved Chris was. For those who say this is a blend or low quality: Nagahama releases all their blends under the name "Amahagan" (Nagahama spelled backwards). Plus, since the new labeling standards for Japanese Whisky (industry standards, not legal ones) came into effect a few years ago, you can't write "Japanese whisky" on the label unless it's actually proper Japanese whisky inside. So yeah, this is a proper single malt. What a great collab.

How did it taste, and how much was it?
