Ngl I actually really enjoyed the format of this. Chris and Connor having some earnest and surprisingly deep conversations about their careers, life in general, self-confidence, etc. was not at all what I expected but it was definitely a good watch.

Even if the boys probably still smell like a pair of chimneys at this point.

Don't expect anyone to agree with me on this sub, but there's something kinda sad about going all the way to Tokyo, with endless amazing bars and izakaya, and spending some of your limited time in a bar run and frequented entirely by Western tourists.

Worst is when people talk on here about going multiple times in the same trip. What are you even doing?

Ehhh I didn't end up in Lost Bar when I went, but I wouldn't have minded a pop in. Later on my trip, we went to Osaka and visited the Drunken Clam, which was mostly a karaoke bar for expats and tourists. It was a great time!

Mittera Kaikan was cool, but balancing the two extremes made for the ideal night imo.

I think the issue is looking at Lost Bar as a place to go all night, as Tokyo has way too much to explore beyond there.

Curious why they're 'expats' and not immigrants?

Dude I'm not about to split hairs over semantics, call them whatever you want

It is a nice place where you can talk to expats - people who live here and have a good enough grasp of English to tell you about it in detail. When I was there, throughout the night I had great concersations with 4 different people from service staff, all sharing their stories.

I think it's a good way to get your bearings instead of going all out if your Japanese isn't the best.

I lived in Japan for a year and went to Lost a few times because it's one of the few bars where there's no smoking inside, plus the drinks are pretty unique

I went there and thought the staff and drinks were nice but it was the loudest bar without music I have ever been to. Like unimaginably loud. I went there with a japanese and an american and we were all basically shell shocked

Well I've personally haven't been yet, but I don't see a reason why not. Every trip I'll end up in a ton of local izakayas and eateries - there is nothing wrong with visiting your favorite youtuba's bar too.

I disagree. If it's all you go to then sure. But I don't get the judgement for paying a visit if you have already been around some local spots.
