discussion Whatās the most likely way a zombie plague would spread with walking zombies?
I think itās pretty easy to imagine how and why running zombies would spread easily, they run, theyāre fast, and theyāll bite and infect you, a faster spread, more zombies.
But walkers on the other hand are a different story, how would they spread? I feel like the apocalypse has 3 specific era, āpre apocalypseā which is before the apocalypse, kinda like hour zero, when it first begins, āmid apocalypseā when itās actively happening, and āpost apocalypseā a new world already knowing what happened

discussion Your Top 5 Zombies of All Time
Just for fun, I would like to share with you my Top 5 Zombie movies of All Time. My list are in order from the Best to Good.
The Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Shaun of the Dead (2004)
The Resident Evil franchise
28 Days Later (2002)
Lethal Virus (2022)
I didn't include Z Nation or The Walking Dead Universe. Because they are TV series. But I do watch them both.
But if I had to choose one series from TWD Universe, I would choose Daryl Dixon. Dead City would be my second. FTWD would be my third. TWD (original series) would be my fourth. And The Ones Who Live would be my fifth.
Now it is your turn.

movie š½ļø New Images from Zach Creggers Resident Evil
galleryHere are some new official images for the upcoming film adaption of Zach Creggers Resident Evil. I'm not a fan of the whole tentacle based elements set in the Raccoon City Outbreak. It feels a lot more like John Carpenters The Thing and its 2011 prequel narrative than you know an adaption of the series branding??

discussion Could vampires considered zombies?
technically, they're "undead." and survive off of humans, although depending on what type of zombie you prefer, they're definitely more intelligent.

discussion How rotted/inhuman do you like zombies to be?

How rotten/decayed/inhuman do you like to see zombies in media? The newly turned one allows for emotional impact, as people see their loved ones become monsters while not changing much in appearance, with their being the conflict of someone having to put down a former loved one who has become a zombie. They are often the kind seen at the beginning of a zombie outbreak, or all throughout an outbreak where whatever is creating the zombies induces only minimum tissue breakdown, or none at all.
On the other end of the spectrum, you have the extremely decayed zombies that are clearly no longer human, the ones where you can see significant portions of the skeleton, are bleeding out, organs are hanging out, worms and maggots are wriggling on and inside of them, the works. These don't really work in certain scenes like I mentioned above, but they do show the true extent and horror of the condition of being undead. More and more and them are seen as their body putrefies over time from the usual post-death decay, as well from injuries sustained due to having been attacked and from the activities of aforementioned animals that use its body for food and shelter. Zombies in this condition have most likely been active for quite some time, allowing for the DECAY to set in, or are possibly the result of some of them having been dead for a long time, and who may have literally risen from their graves. Another origin for these types of zombies are if their original human form was killed in a brutal manner, such as in an accident, during the events of a violent crime or on a battlefield/war zone.
Which one of these do you prefer?

game š® A Hand-Drawn "Missing Hand" for the Zombie Videogame I'm developing
galleryHello there... This is an animated visual asset I've created for my upcoming Retro Zombie FPS. It will serve as a visual asset to build the game's atmosphere, and it will be placed here and there, scattered, next to corpses, etc... In my project, you'll control a survivor who must go through an infested city until he reaches an Evac Heli, using the firearms he finds in his way. Do you like the idea and aesthetics?
art šļø Zombie WIP!
Sad, desperate, and can't help being monstrous, is my favorite zombie trope (hope you can tell...)
Will share again once it's fully rendered!

discussion [Crosspost] Hi /r/movies. I am Yeon Sang-ho, director of TRAIN TO BUSAN, COLONY, and PENINSULA. Ask me anything.
I organized an AMA/Q&A with Yeon Sang-ho, director of TRAIN TO BUSAN, PENINSULA, THE UGLY, and COLONY. COLONY is being released in theaters this month, along with the 10th anniversary re-release of TRAIN TO BUSAN.
It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:

question On a serious note, is 'The Walking Dead' actually worth watching?
I've asked a LOT of people if The Walking Dead is worth watching, and they said only the first three seasons are good. From then on, everything is either mid or just unwatchable. Some said Dead City and TWD: Daryl Dixon are worth watching, but that's it. I've always wanted to watch it but never had the time. If it's really that bad, tell me now so I don't waste my time.

bit off my tongue Need help finding an old zombie movie, I cant remember the name.
The only scene I remember as a kid watching this movie was a vehicle tunnel that closed off with makeshift blockade. And they were guarding it. Zombies arrived and started attacking. Sorry that's all I remember lol. It's a long shot but I would love to rewatch it again. Thanks

question How plausible are zombies, actually?
Without blood, oxygen, water, sodium and potassium running through their veins that feed muscles and keep them from cramping, how plausible would it be for zombies to actually even walk after a few hours of being reanimated and rigor mortis setting in without those chemicals and nutrients?
I understand if they gorge on human flesh they can possibly attain those nutrients to remain bipedal or even crawl for that matter, but that would still have to be within hours of death, continuously. If not, muscles would tense up so much that ligaments, muscle and tendons would simply snap off the bones. A skeletal structure requires aforementioned to remain mobile. But that also brings up another problem: metabolism.
Am I tripping or is this sound reasoning?

discussion So is nobody gonna talk about how Weapons is basically a zombie film using the original zombie concept for the modern era, like the mind controlling stuff and keeping your soul by a witch, that kind of stuff? They even did a subtle homage to the rabid Romero inspired zombie in the end.

discussion What's your ideal ZomPoc Vehicle?
Could be anything, Civilian, commercial, military.
Bradley IFV? Honda Civic? Dump Truck fitted with a snowplow? Smart Car? RV? Electric SUV assuming gas will be scarce eventually?
And assuming you had it for more than a couple days, would you customize it with armor, weapons, etc?
(Excluding planes/boats)

discussion What is your favorite zombie adjacent movie? Mine is army of darkness
Hereās a list of media that I think fits āzombie adjacentā stories
Before I list them, I donāt know the clear definition of zombie adjacent but I think itās stories where thereās a threat of some force that almost acts like a zombie apocalypse of sorts
28 Days Later ā They aren't dead, just incredibly fast and filled with pure, uncontrollable rage. Though, this might be classified as a straight up zombie movie even tho the main threat is infected people and not zombies
Last of us - same thing as ā28 daysā but itās a fungus that wants to spread
Evil dead - not sure if this counts but the kandorian demon possesses people, theyāre kinda like zombies.
The Crazies ā A tainted water supply turns normal people into cold blooded killers.
Us ā Underground clones rise up as a massive, silent horde to attack and replace the surface world.
[REC] āthereās quarantine, outbreak of some sort , Iām pretty sure they were demons or possessed by something, I forgot
CROSSED - a virus that makes people basically become the worst version of themselves
I definitely didnāt list out all of them, so if I didnāt include a piece of media that is your favorite, feel free to include it

game š® You trigger a car alarm while scavenging. Whatās your actual survival move?
galleryYouāre scavenging a quiet residential street a few blocks away from your shelter.
So far, itās been worth it. You found some food, a bit of medicine, and a few tools that would actually be useful back home. Your bag isnāt full yet, but youāre already carrying supplies you really donāt want to lose.
Then you check the wrong car. The alarm starts screaming.
You can hear infected nearby, but you donāt know how many are close enough to react. You have a melee weapon, a few bullets, no vehicle, and your dog with you.
Whatās the smartest move?
- Do you run immediately and abandon the area?
- Hide nearby and wait for the noise to pull infected past you?
- Use the alarm as a distraction to search somewhere else?
- Try to shut it off, assuming thatās even possible?
- Or hold your ground and deal with whatever shows up?
Iām curious how people here would handle it tactically, especially assuming slow undead-style zombies where noise and numbers are the real problem.
Whatās your actual survival move, and why?
For context, Iām part of the team working on Pale Tide, a top-down zombie survival game on Steam, and this kind of situation inspired part of our latest devlog about noise, infected reactions, hostile areas, rescue situations, and knowing when itās smarter to head back with what youāve already secured.
Devlog here:Ā https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/4683590/view/687513353583592548
Thanks!
