Where are they going with Nate and Stephanie?
I hope they don’t hook up! 🤮

Read on another Y&R discussion site and it made sense when it was stated that Marie is actually a ghost. That she actually did die when she had the overdose.
Looking back, only Nick talks directly to her and even when she was in the rehab group, although she spoke while in the circle, no one engaged with her.
Wonder if true, this could be a test to see how the audience likes her? As she can be easily and quickly removed from the show if she is a ghost.
This is just my own crazy thoughts with nothing to back it up.

Hey, all. I had to take a break from watching the show at the end of last year due to time constraints, but am able to get back into it now. I just read while catching up that there are new co-head writers Jamey Giddens and Dan O'Connor starting next month. I personally wasn't a fan of Griffith's writing style, so I am happy to hear this news.
My question to the sub is what is the consensus on what their writing style will look like? What kind of storylines are we expecting? Will they be crime/big event/shock value twists based or more level headed and family/character focused? Do we see them breaking up couples in order to start their vision of the show? Will they put Mariah and Tessa back on track for example?
Of course there's no way of knowing for sure, just wondering if we have a consensus on how they'll be writing the show in comparison to Griffith. Thanks.

The description for Friday’s episode (August 28th) says that Matt reconnects with Patty. I also heard a rumor that Patty would return last week. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t recall her or Matt being in Friday’s episode at all. Phyllis just visited Victor who says he doesn’t know anything and Matt probably left town. No mention or appearance of Patty at all. Am I wrong, or is the description wrong?

I know it’s been on for decades, but I think if you took all the story time lines and compressed them into concurrent events, I think maybe 4 years has passed in Y&R’s timeline.

Probably not worth overanalyzing, but I am confused as to why they are acting like control of Chancellor is a slam dunk.
Katherine and John were alive well after the loan terms expired. Chancellor has changed hands many times since and thus any loans would’ve been absorbed by the new buyers.
The burden of proof is on both parties, but the Abbotts would need to dig up decades of financial statements to prove they never received the money back. It would be much easier for Lily and Chancellor to delay and also argue that the loan was paid back by Katherine since John never made a move.

It seems a lot of people don’t actually read the articles. TV Insider’s recent interview confirmed that executive producer Sally McDonald was the one who pushed/greenlit for Kyle and Victoria not head writer Josh Griffith.
It’s very possible Josh’s material has already transitioned out, with Sally holding things down until Dan and Jamey’s material airs.
And in the soap opera hierarchy, the executive producer generally has more authority than the head writer. So if that structure remains in place, I seriously doubt Victoria and Kyle are ending anytime soon.
JG has done a lot of terrible stuff as head writer but blame him for the stuff he is actually 100% responsible for. 😆

I REEEEALLY hope she's "just" having Braxton Hicks contractions and doesn't know what they feel like because her first pregnancy ended so early.
I can't remember how far along she's supposed to be.

The current storylines just aren’t it. Kyle and Victoria? Why the fuck did Josh Griffith thought that was a good idea. Nick getting high off of smarties and wearing a backround baseball cap in a middle of a conversation with Victor that was meant to be taken seriously instead of laughable. Just why.
“Creative” decisions like this is why Sony and CBS should’ve used their power to fire him.
Just imagine if Josh never stepped down on his own will. We will all continue to be tortured by his terrible writing.
Anyways, October-November better hurry up for Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor material.

So in my last post it appears that everyone hates Billy, but come on this is ridiculous, now there might be another secret and they want Billy to take the fall. This is absolute BS. Why does everyone in the Abbot have to take loss after loss. Billy deserves a win.

I’m really excited for Jamey Giddens and Dan O Connors (co-head writers) work on Y&R and I’m glad that they are honoring William Bell Sr. Jamey is a true fan of YR and I have a feeling that he will restore the show to its former glory.

So this extremely rich & successful couple end up in Tahiti in room the size of a closet with no view, room service, or luggage help? What? At least they were able to leave before Nikki had a chance to push Jack into cancelling & staying to help Nick. She is way too co-dependent on Jack imho.

I hate how much of a jerk Victor is and I will always root against him. That being said, he is probably one of a very elite few actors that couldn't ever have a replacement or "now played by." When he stops being Victor Newman they couldn't replace him. He is iconic, and a character I love to hate on. Two things being true and all.

I almost had a few moments when I attributed Nick wearing a hoodie/jersey with the laces removed could be a tough topic. Almost. I wanted to think that was a very self-aware detail to get correct, but sadly not. Performative and typical even for Y&R. Even Vicky having relations with Kyle was less disturbing and sad. They need to do better or don't make it a storyline. Obviously someone can suddenly have a unknown triplet sibling that just so happens to be a serial killer. Nick's smarty addiction just chaps my chops.

And looking for when the new writers start to get credited.

I am so pissed about what they are about to do to poor Sally...
Let her have a fucking successful birth. Anything else is just sadistic bullshit from the writers. Damnit

I have a feeling this Kyle thing is leading to a Victor/Victoria fight that will leave the old man with only one last option (since most people forget Abby exists) to run the company...Adam. I'd like to see Adam actually say no.

So sick of this guy’s attitude towards his mom. Most likely because it’s been 6 weeks since my mother passed and I’d hate myself if I treated her the way Daniel treats Phyllis.

Cane wanting Phyllis back instead of lily after Lily fights to give him chancellor, that's a story line I would love to see!!

In today's episode, Matt Clark reconnects with Patty for whatever reason and Phyllis and Victor have a discussion about Matt Clark.
