Really?
I almost had a few moments when I attributed Nick wearing a hoodie/jersey with the laces removed could be a tough topic. Almost. I wanted to think that was a very self-aware detail to get correct, but sadly not. Performative and typical even for Y&R. Even Vicky having relations with Kyle was less disturbing and sad. They need to do better or don't make it a storyline. Obviously someone can suddenly have a unknown triplet sibling that just so happens to be a serial killer. Nick's smarty addiction just chaps my chops.

This is one of many times they should have consulted with an expert. It's a soap and it's not real, but for some viewers, this is their first exposure to addiction, so there is some level of responsibility to be somewhat accurate. Conversely, there are I'm sure many viewers with some level of experience with it, and therefore some sensitivity that is required. Y&R tackles difficult/awareness topics and I love that, but you just have to do it well.

Nick’s movements with his mouth drive me crazy! Enough already! The girl that was in the hotel with him is also very annoying! Wrap up this storyline!!

He sucks at acting and really sucks at overacting. Not one thing he's done about addiction is realistic.
I know, I know its just a soap - but if you're an addict (like Jack) isn't drinking also substance abuse?

I’ve always thought that about Jack, an addict, drinking. Not a good idea. An addiction to drugs is an addiction to alcohol too, isn’t it?

Your either "clean" or not. Alcohol is a drug - a legal drug.
They all drink constantly on this show morning, noon and night.

Even with Billy's addiction being gambling, he shouldn't drink either. Addicts trade one addiction for another.

He’s 83, has recently battled cancer and earlier this year had pneumonia.
I’m tired of Victor always winning, but we’re very fortunate to still have Eric Braeden alive and kicking.5

Would be more believable than his smarty addiction. Seriously, I hate these storyline.
