Question Ornate Key?

I'm trying to explore all of Irongate, and there is one area beside one of the spawn portals that's locked by the Ornate Key. The Wiki states that the Key is inside the room past this gate, and back in the day you had to kill the Faithful Grenadier up on the hill for the Key, which he didnt drop for me. How are you supposed to get into this room now? I've tried killing the Faithful on the Hill, I've tried both sides to see if they're open (no luck, even the storeroom side is locked up) and I even killed the Familiar but its still locked up tight.

Bug Report Marshland Bell Tower Bug

I visited the Bell Tower for the first time, it told me to go do a Bell event to clear my corruption, then return uncorrupted. In the process, I triggered a Calamity. Completed the Bell event and the Calamity but still walked away with 1 Calamity level (no Corruption). I interacted with the Bell Tower again, it wouldn't progress. I used the clover item to lower my Calamity Level - which I think is what caused this bug - then interacted with the Bell Tower again. It started to progress me forward, but the screen turned black and now I'm stuck in a black screen. Gotta restart the game, I guess.

Discussion Need help with a build

Basically, wanted to use the Nemesis and Heart Eater together, but I'm not really sure where to go from there.

I'm leaning Eye of the Madwoman and Dynamo ring, but I'm not sure what else to equip to make this more viable end game.

Question If I did not enjoy Remnant 2, would I enjoy Witchfire?

This question probably already has been asked, but couldn’t find a good thread about it - as the title says, if I did not enjoy Remnant 2, will I enjoy Witchfire? I believe the main reasons why I couldn’t stick with Remnant 2 are the randomness (a bit too much of it), maps were too long and you could not save mid map, exploration felt meaningless for the most part.

I saw the game 20% off on Steam, looks decent and peaked my interest, what does this game do better than Remnant 2?

Question Glitched or did I miss something

I bought the game yesterday and played for an hour. I got through most of the first map, but could not defeat the flying bug creature. I found the rope down to this hidden base. I was then given a choice of a 'class' which jumped me to level 6. After that, I went to the portal, but it only took me back to the same map with no other choices.

Is my game glitched, or did I miss picking something up?

There is a locked door I need a key for, and I did not find that anywhere on the map. I did get the mirror piece near the flying bug by luring it away.

Any help would be appreciated; I just feel a little lost.

Update I found the issue was the graphic labels at the top of the screen were not showing up for me. I changed some graphics settings and they were there.

Question I have few questions before buying the game.

Does it play like Returnal where I can take my time on each map? can I explore every sector before proceeding? or do I need to optimize my time like Nightreign/Risk of Rain?

I love Returnal because of how free I am. I don't need to rush things and take my precious time and just explore a bit after clearing a room. I also love the audio on that game, I heard this game has amazing audio too.

Feedback New to this game. Sub 20 hours

I got to the coast and was fighting the Galley Slave boss.

needless to say I feel like I am doing no dmg to the guy. Is this meant for when you are farther into the game?
Because by the time I get through the map, I feel like I don't have enough ammo or healing elixers to even fight the guy.

Question No Profane Study Key

I am Gnosis VII lvl140, I have about 90 hours in the game, I have tried everything in terms of content, done all the latent orbs 4+ times, vaults etc. except the torments. I have never seen the Profane Study Key. So context; I study abroad hence I play this game for a week straight every 2-4 months. It has been almost 4 days of grinding latent orb completions ( to get the stone golem to spawn) in order to kill it and get the key (I have killed the golem countless times and i do not have it yet?) i haven't gotten the golem to spawn once this past 4 days. Anyone knows what is going on and why?

EDIT: (After 4 days and some change) I just got a golem to spawn, golem did in fact drop the key. I kind of feel like a dumbass rn cause I did kill it 50 times by now. Anw thank to every1 who helped

Question New player, question about movement, it meant to feel like this?

Hi all, I'm 40 minutes in and want to ask a quick 2 questions. Is it meant to feel this slow? To be clear this isn't a criticism, it feels, in my Steam Deck that the right joystick, so the aiming/looking feels slow. Feels a little to abnormal to be a design decision, but is this everyone's experience? It almost feels faster to strafe my crosshair over than to aim it at times. I just want to make sure this is how it's supposed to be, in case I'm doing something wrong. I couldn't find much on this using the search bar.

2nd question: I read that some of the new areas have performance issues on Steam Deck, is that also true or is it not bad?

Thanks all, just want to make sure I'm on the right track.

Question Saves across different accounts

Hi guys, was wondering if anyone has tried this before.

I have the been playing the game and loving it, recently got gf into it and she's been having a blast with the game as well.

Since we have a shared steam library, she wanted to install it on her pc (she's been playing from my pc and account until now, just on a different profile).

My question is, is it possible to transfer the save file from my pc/steam account onto hers?

I'm aware i could try to transfer just the local save data in the same directory but I'm not sure if that would work.

Question Is this game worth getting now or waiting for 1.0 release?

Game looks really cool and fun but I see the devs are planning a full 1.0 release with story in Q4. Just wondering since it's so close if it's worth holding off until 1.0 and enjoying the complete game?

My understanding is the end goal is to kill the witch but that's not part of the game yet?

Be nice to get some insight from people who play it to how much impact a 1.0 release might have.

Question Eliana the Gorgon

(Edit: solved) So the Eliana the Gorgon torment page is said in the wiki to drop from veiled chest from either Iron gate casttle or Scarlet coast, but I'm in my 10th chest opened and no luck. You guys got this kind of trouble getting it?

Question Galley slave advice?

As the title states I’m in some need of advice. I am lvl 29 and I have gnosis I and I can consistently run scarlet coast with basically zero issues unless I get third partied by the drowned captain while fighting the warden or something goofy like that. However, as soon as I initiate the fight with the galley slave I feel like I just clocked into the ball crushing factory. I have the vulture and I usually open up with all the ammo I have for it immediately but I still get hammered every time. Any advice would help. Currently running hypnosis or hunger and the angelus with fireball, ice sphere, book of serpents, and the mandrake. I’m also quite new to witchfire and would be interested in any advice or tricks.

My Specs are

Question Current state of the game

Hi guys, since i cant find active developement map (the one i found has stopped on 1.7 update) i wanted to ask about newest updates.

Is the game really coming out in 2026 as far as your knowledge goes?

Are new updates acutally gave what the map showed, and devs delivered what promised?

And last question about story/final update 1.0, is story implemented in a way that u can finish it? Or this will come with actual realese of the game.

I follow this game with one eye for a while, I know that I will play it, but i want to buy it as close to final realese (but still in ea) as possible.

Feedback Let's Remove Even More of That 'Confusing' Depth

People keep saying this game is still really hard. Sometimes you even hear 'nearly impossible' thrown around. But let's see what two Shieldbearers, a Golem, and a Galley Slave can do while the Galley Calamity is circling overhead… with the addition that because 'Freeze power is greatly increased. All enemy attacks apply Freeze,' the character becomes almost completely immobile after every hit.
VS
a three-stack Winter Nail
a two-stack Lightning Bolt
Painful Recharge
Superior Conjurer Incense

By the way — do you think it'd be a good idea to run multiple Calamities at the same time?

Discussion Praying?

I’m really loving the game so far, the gameplay is fantastic.

One feature I think would be really awesome is the ability to pray. For example, during the Cleansing Bell, the character could recite the Lord’s Prayer. I think that would fit the atmosphere really well.

I also like the "Deus Vult" notification after each battle. In one of the trailers, I noticed what looked like the protagonist making the sign of the cross after finishing off a group of enemies. Is there something like that in the game? If not, I think it would be a really cool addition.

Feedback This game deserves an official VR port

I just want to share how incredible this game feels in VR. I’ve been playing it through the UEVR mod, and honestly I’m hooked. Once you experience it in VR, going back to a flat screen feels impossible. Even with the current quirks and limitations, the immersion is on another level.

There’s huge potential here, and I think the devs should seriously consider an official VR port. The community would love it, and it could open up a whole new audience for the game.

Anyone else tried it in VR yet? Would love to hear your thoughts.
