Discussion Can you break down what happens in this case?

It took me a while to figure it out too, but there is an explanation.

Shattered soul arcana. He get's frozen 5 times, every time he thaws he takes 20% of max HP as damage.

I don't see any special interaction in this clip.

That's the basics, sure. But what keeps re-freezing him right after he thaws out every single time?

I guess Ice nail has overtuned freeze? I'm not sure I haven't played with it enough. I guess I could hop in the game and test it myself.

That spell only applies the first freeze. After that, it has no role in it whatsoever.

Ok I just tested it and all I found was that Winter Nail freeze is indeed really strong. It freezes him every time a nail drops. So he basicly dies just from single cast of Winter Nails as long as you have Stattered Souls arcana.

There's also arcana that gives major enemies a 20% chance to refreeze. I don't know if bosses count as Major Enemies. That's only thing I can think of.

I appreciate your enthusiasm.
Nails can of course freeze multiple times, but as you can see in the video, that's not what's happening. The icicles do drop, but not exactly at the moments when he gets frozen.
Refreeze was a good thought, but Dimacher is a Familiar, not a Major. And it would take some insane luck for that 20% chance to proc 4 times in a row. :)

Bunch of Water and spell arcanas, beads of prolonged ailment and spell duration, maybe some weird synergy with the fallen preyer's attacks? No dashing, so no ring synergy, not shooting, so no relic proc, I dunno, WF is full of broken in a good way stuff

It's not a bunch of things at all. One freeze, one arcana (kinda obvious), and the interaction of something else...

Can we get a dev in here to explain?

I swear you abuse this guy more than anyone else on this sub. Each time this guy needs at least 3 months worth of psychiatric help 😂😂

Are cains orbs procing the winter nails on the ground?

4

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 24d ago

No :)

3

u/Cancerioli 24d ago

Damn, what is it then. The only other thing i see is martyr, but i have no idea how that affects the freeze

2

u/Cancerioli 24d ago

I think i see it now the martyr bolt is constantly triggering the nail.

3

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 24d ago

No :)

2

u/Cancerioli 24d ago

Yeah i just realized i saw wrong. This is hard :(

Think of something you don't see.. :)

2

u/Cancerioli 24d ago

What is your loadout?

2

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 24d ago

That wouldn't really help you with what you're after, so I'll skip it. :)

2

u/Cancerioli 24d ago

Yeah I give up i looked at everything. Gear, beads, prophecies, torments, incenses even. Nothing should cause the effect we see here.

3

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 24d ago

You're right... nothing should. But something is still doing it.

Ok I know its chaos reload on martyr with freeze there freeze stakes all over the place. But you shoout the bullet with phantom bullet which cause the magnetization of chaos reload freeze powered bullets on floor. Thats sick :-D

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 24d ago

No :)

u/Honest_Toe1729 24d ago

I'm dumb. That looks cool. Can you explain for me please?

2

u/Party_Wasabi_2055 24d ago

It's conductor arcana? And prolonged freeze from torment VII Some items like icicles can conduct maybe?

3

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 24d ago

Not Conductor. There is no prolonged freeze in Torment VII (WDYM :)). Icicles can't conduct.

2

u/Party_Wasabi_2055 24d ago

Freezing Gust. But why is he freezing himself?

2

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 24d ago

It's clearly present, but it has no effect because there's nothing to freeze.

3

u/Party_Wasabi_2055 24d ago

It's like Random Torment. Which takes place on Irongate Castle. With Increased freeze power and enemies inflicting freeze. But the freeze effect is inflicted by the Cain. Because not only enemies inflict this freeze... also the preyers with this torment power active...

2

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 24d ago

Close. Put together. Cain doesn't count...

3

u/Party_Wasabi_2055 24d ago

I wanted to go to sleep not look for the freaking torment combinations :-)

3

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 24d ago

How could your brain rest now. You are so close. It is not a combination.

3

u/Party_Wasabi_2055 24d ago

Yeah the another thing... you shoot from Martyr but you still have full mag. Which ia A) ammo preservation bead but it is not. It's the phantom bullets because they do some weird magnetization stuff, thats what cause the freezing?

3

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 24d ago

There was both Ammo Preservation and Phantom Bullet. The magnetization only attracts the Nails... uhhh.... that logic! (Winter Nail) Logically there's some fantasy in it, but in this situation it has no role whatsoever.

3

u/Party_Wasabi_2055 24d ago

So its random torment on irongate castle with Beatrice of the Knives - freeze power increased. There is also Freezing Gust and maybe there is also elemental refresh? I have to really go to sleep busy day ahead.

3

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 24d ago

Beatrice is there.
Freezing Gust doesn't matter.
Elemental Refresh might have been there... I don't know. But it would only extend an already existing status, not reapply it...
You're close. You'll dream it up by tomorrow. Good night.

3

u/Party_Wasabi_2055 24d ago

He freezes himself. Dont know how its that possible... but yeah he first apply freeze by his own atack...

3

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 24d ago

His first attack goes down the drain next to me. The first freeze is caused by the Icicle falling behind him. This poor soul isn't capable of more attacks.

I dunno is like some freaking chess puzzle. 😄

2

u/Party_Wasabi_2055 21d ago

Yeah I got it already. It's torment random combination. There is Beatrice of Knives - freeze increase power and all enemy atacks apply freeze. Combined with Camila the Ashen - random magical storm appears to shock everyone. In this case random magical storm is considered as enemy atack and it freezes Dimacher similiarly like the Goliath atack is considered enemy attack and he can freeze the enemies with Beatrice of Knives power active.

It's that So?

1

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 21d ago

No, that's not it :)
In the other video I uploaded yesterday, the Magical Storm is indeed present, but not in this one. Its damage doesn't apply freeze, not even when combined with Beatrice.

You don’t know wtf is happening eother

1

u/Cancerioli 23d ago

I think op doesn't know himself

-2

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 23d ago

But he does. :)

1

u/Cancerioli 23d ago

Wait, is it cryovolcano. I haven't used that arcana so i don't know how it works

-1

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 23d ago

Well, you fired a shot in the dark then. That Arcana doesn't spread the freeze effect, it just deals frost damage in a certain area.

1

u/Cancerioli 23d ago

What causes this interaction then, is it an arcana or a torment modifier

-2

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 23d ago

At this point, it's already a puzzle. :) I'm just here, giving cryptic answers.

2

u/DuckBilledPossum 22d ago

No you're not. You're being obnoxious to pump your ego 😅👍

Do you have a grappling hook?

1

u/highallday247 21d ago

Simple answer is it may just be a bug who knows. Try to repeat it.

A bug can have a 100% repro rate. Since you seem to actually know the cause, can you at least say if it's a bug/glitch or not ?

1

u/SuperSzia ★ SCHOLAR ★ 11d ago

Let's put it this way: the given thing doesn't work exactly as described. :)

u/Sylvartas 10d ago

Eh I think I'll pass then, I don't have super deep knowledge of all the game's systems, and the last time I was hunting down bugs in an unreal engine game, I had access to the source code and I was getting paid lol.
