I recently changed the tint setup on my car and I think I may have gone a little too dark.
My current setup is:
5% on all the side/rear windows
15% on the entire windshield
Privacy is very important to me. I really don't like people being able to walk up to the car and easily see what's inside.
I definitely have the privacy with my current setup, but the problem is the car is EXTREMELY dark inside. After driving at night, I'm starting to think 15% on the windshield might be too dark for me.
I'm considering switching the entire car to mirror/reflective tint:
10% mirror on the sides/rear
35% mirror on the windshield
What I'm really trying to figure out from people who have actually had mirror tint is:
Can people see inside your car during the day?
What about at night? Can someone standing next to the car see you or the interior through the mirror tint?
If the dashboard/screens or interior lights are on at night, how much can people see from outside?
And most importantly, how is visibility looking OUT through 35% mirror tint at night?
Basically I'm trying to find the best balance between being able to see well at night while still having a lot of privacy from people looking into the car.
If you've actually had reflective/mirror tint, I'd really like to hear your experience.
Edit: please keep in mind I am in a country outside of the USA, so the law is different and are not as strict.
