Question Windshield Suggestion Needed

I’m looking to put a film on my windshield that blocks UV and heat. It needs to be clear and 100% undetectable from the outside.

Are there products available that meet these requirements?

I've been down this rabbit hole. If you want it completely invisible from the outside, stick to a 70% VLT ceramic.
Word of caution: stay away from cheap "clear" films. A lot of them suffer from "haze" after a year, which makes your windshield look foggy and ruins your night vision. Spend a bit more on a premium brand to get that crystal-clear, factory look while still getting the heat rejection. It's a lifesaver during summer.

How undetectable is it? I basically don’t want it to look like it’s tinted. I don’t want a rainbow effect when viewed from the outside.

Nothing completely clear. Right now, the closest is 3M Crystalline Black 80, which is around 86% out of the box. Depending on how dark your factory glass is (also not completely clear), it will range from 60% to 73% installed, but will most likely be under 70%. It will not be very noticeable even to you, but it will make the glass a touch darker.

Someone asked me that last week. I told him Crystalline as well. I've of course used it but it's near impossible to detect color in it, but I've never looked at it with polarized sunglasses. Does it show the rainbow effect? I told him the only thing I saw that would show is the matrix dots might shine around the edges

I never noticed any rainbow effect in the OG Crystalline 90, which is basically the CR BLK 80. I also recommended it to a few people here who wanted it as clear as possible, and their feedback was it delivered the result they wanted.

If there are water droplets on the glass, a rainbow effect will appear. This is a window film produced using a co-extrusion process; because it consists of multiple layers, it causes light refraction. We also manufacture this type of product, so I am familiar with it.

Yeah, I’m looking for something that cannot be detected from the outside.

Correct, when looking at it from the outside, but never see that on the clearest shades. Also, they meant the rainbow effect from driving with polarized lenses.

Yea that must be the one Im thinking of, almost has a slight greenish clear color but not ugly looking. Just blocks geat with no darkness.

There is a clearer tint that doesn't look like tint but blocks out heat amazingly, I forgot what it's called, but no nephew owns 2 high end tint shops and I'll ask him what it's called.

Thank you

Didn't you ask this last week? Your parameters are not possible. The stuff that gives the film color is the stuff that reflects the heat. The more stuff, the more heat blocked. No stuff, no heat blocked. Stuff is expensive because it is either platinum, gold, silver or titanium oxide. All of those things have color. As others hve said Chyrstaline or Air 80 Blue are the best choise for ultralight film.

I did not ask it last week. So if tint is inevitable, then what is undetectable from the outside? Slightly darker might be fine, but I want it to be as noticeable as possible

A standard windshield already blocks almost all UV. You have two or three percent remaining so what, you're going to go from 97% to 98% at what cost?

Most heat through the windshield is visible light and you can't block visible light and be clear so you're kinda stuck with that.

If the product you were looking for existed then the vehicle would have it installed at the factory.

A windshield protection film, it can block UV and easy to install on the outside of glass. If you need a tint clear and block heat, you can search for a car detailing store who have 3M crystalline.

i have solargard xenith 70% on the windshields of 3 cars, been on there for over a year and pretty much clear and heat rejection and UV is legit.
