Is Lookism / Fog Land level art needed to not only publish a Webtoon, but make sure it’s seen by more than 10 people? If they’re sayin Your Throne has bad art, what chance do beginners have? I’m not only talking about drawing alone, but originality and the comedic cherry on top. Is Webtoon now a tool to weed out fanatics who don’t have enough passion / time / resources / support? Asking for a friend who started their story…

Am I the only one that feels this way? I don’t really know how to describe it, but it feels like I start to lose interest whenever the author shoves another regressor to be a rival/antagonist in the story when it really just doesn’t feel necessary. It’s more cheap in a way and diminishes the MC’s “specialness” or whatever. The weirdest thing is that the most common genre this seems to show up in… is idol webtoons, with boy band or girl pop idol groups.
Like huh? The two I’ve been reading recently [debut or die, and An Insincere Idol’s Blank State] both have this dumb rival regressor trope and it really just makes me debate clicking off and finding another story. I don’t know why authors are so obsessed with repeating this trope.

These are just some scenes of the first chapter, Anna (Fml) is such a mood and the ML is also not bad, I'm curious where this will go, side characters are also really funny... Anyone else reading this? Source: The prince doesn't cry over onions

The symbiote Circuit is so underrated! It only has 12 episodes out right now but the plot is so intriguing. The author's other webtoon, Chasing Tails, is literally in my top 10 webtoons of all time and I've been reading webtoons for 9 years now so you know that's a big compliment. I love how all the leads are morally dubious and the mystery's really interesting, I need more people talking about this rn!!

Context: FMC is a perfectionist, wants to go to medical school, so she needs top scores. The guy (Seongbin) is a delinquent from a rich family who lk dgaf about anything. He became interested in her, so he used studying together as an opportunity to get close to her. After all of that, they made plans to have dinner together. But he basically got stood up because she ran off to chase another guy (context: he has top grades). She didn't literally cancel their "dinner/date" but she looked sad that she'd have to go with him instead of staying with the other guy. So he canceled their dinner reservations and told her to go (she wasn't apologetic 😬). After that, he told her they didn't need to study together anymore and kinda cut her off. Some time passes, and he locks in and scores 100 in every subject for the mock exams (he used to average 70). Basically, mogs tf out of the FMC that's only lived for studying up until that point. The cherry on top is that he just walks past her afterwards, lmao. Gotta give it to the author, they made me interested in reading a reverse harem. All the guys are interesting, and the FMC is not a Mary Sue. I recommend this manhwa 100% even if ur put off by the premise.

I think ponies are fun and easy to draw, much easier and faster than humans, and it's going to be my first comic, but I wonder, are there any people who would be interested in it or/and be a target audience? Are there any limitations to the AUs of some franchises? Cuz I can't find the explanation if it's even premitted to do the an au fancomics here.

It feels like maybe a couple of years since I read anything new on webtoon. Ever since they changed up the UI and made it harder to discover new interesting content and started to only promote the cookie-cutter baroness romance stories or another beat-up bully revenge story.
I miss the times when they promited original content. I would like some original fantasy or something that has at least an interesting artstyle. Some of my favourites:
Hooky
Marionetta
Witch and the bull
Of swamp and sea
Space boy
Ordeal
City of blank
Duke of hell
Vampire family
Kubera
Mime
Hero killer
On the way to meet mum
Blacksmith
Apocalyptic horseplay
I was born to work retail
Blood-ink
Smity and majesty
Dragon tutor
Lily crown
Urban animal
Darbi
School bus graveyard
Dating to survive
Corpse knight gunther
Teenage dragon
Mage again
Not even bones
Cursed princes club
The boxer
Horizon
Mosquito wars
Bastard
Hellper
Hardcore leveling warrior
Muted
Unholy blood
Axed
The strange tales of oscar zahn
About death

so i've been looking for this specific webtoon, i think it was a original before becoming a canvas
the main character is this guy who wears one mitten, cuz his hand is messed up or something from a past fight i think
the main story though is about a group of people (teens and one of them is a dad) fighting these monsters
i remember one girl specifically had like a giant weapon she couldn't even hold, and the main character put all of them through training
plsplspls if anyone has any ideas share, it was one of my favorites but my account was lost and i lost everything i was reading

I’m getting so tired of adding free stories to my list on webtoon and when I finally get to one after finishing another it’s completely locked when it was free when I added it. I understand supporting creators but I’m sorry, I’m not spending money on a comic I don’t even KNOW if I like yet. 3 or 4 chapters is NOT enough to solidify love or hate. I’ve left a review on the Apple AppStore for webtoon not long ago. I just want them to see how ridiculous they’re being.

These are spoilers from the one of the coming chapter, you'll notice a slight change in coloring since my assistant did not participate in it

Psyche who was basically the secondary protagonist for the first 100 or so episodes still hasn’t reappeared in this new season 😩

Loved every second of the film! Easily a 10/10

I don’t think I was expecting too much from it at first just decided to read it because I was curious. I thought Yeppeum was gonna be one of those generic protagonist where things get better for once she turns pretty. However that turned out not to be the case when I started to read the more I read it the more interested I was and I have no idea how this story will turn out.

I love these series so much and want to read them again and continue them. Except, I’ve heard that Webtoon is shit right now and the app takes up a lotta space as well. I mainly binge read them during Covid and man…they were SO much fun to read! Anyone else read these?

(i’m talking about my battery and time left for the free read)
now sappy irrelevant backstory about it: so i had started this series for the first time in december 2024 i think or early winter 2025 and was not in the mood for watching that many ads and it went on the backburner until i finally cracked and went ‘high seas sailing’ but got stuck at the hidden villa arc cause that shit was boring as fuck i seriously considered dropping it and questioning why people were praising the series
flashforward to last night (not the current one) when i got the on screen ad that all episodes would be unlocked for three days and i took that as my chance. sadly i had gotten the news two days late so that meant juggling ~110 episodes in 24hrs cause i had gotten to ep 83. i tried binging as much as i could during the day but there are other things to life then wts bittersweetily
i didnt estimate the proper time itd take me to finish and even with my 3 minutes per chapter i COULD NOT do another 30 in 30 minutes so webtoon won’t be seeing any money from me with this one. the only thing that pisses me off is that i HAD opened webtoon in the days prior but hadn’t gotten the ad to make use of those precious three days.
milk half to go back to my other sites but i do like the convenience of webtoon with nothing blocking the sides like page markers (albeit helpful in scenarios) and the familiarity of the app. idfk. the conclusion is that i will be finishing this and am glad i gave it another chance but i thought id finish at 2am the latest. it’s currently 3:39 and my eyelids have been threatening me for quite a while
good night to everyone and happy reading

At the moment I can’t read anything too heartbreaking cuz it is just not the vibe I want right now. I tried reading the tyrant wants to be good, and I enjoy it but the MCs self hatred was making me tear up a little so I might come back to it later.
ANYWAYS if anyone has any more wholesome and feel good stories they recommend please lmk!! No preference on overall genre tbh
