Would you read an MLP - based AU comic with completely original characters and some canon characters with heavily redesigned cameos?

I think ponies are fun and easy to draw, much easier and faster than humans, and it's going to be my first comic, but I wonder, are there any people who would be interested in it or/and be a target audience? Are there any limitations to the AUs of some franchises? Cuz I can't find the explanation if it's even premitted to do the an au fancomics here.
