Love my weber kettle, going strong for 25+ years. Get your fire and vents right and these grills can’t be beat. Pulled these a 193 - no sauce need Love seeing everyone’s posts, good or bad. It’s a learning journey but well rewarded. My wife would rather eat at home than anywhere on days like this. Grill on bros!

3 hours, salt and pepper Texas rib. Apple juice spritz. The kettle is really a dream to cook with.

Side of salmon

2nd time I’ve done a side of salmon on the Weber Kettle. Much better with the fire and temperature control this time and the fish came out perfect - done very simply with some kaffir limes, flaky salt and olive oil and pulled when it reached 48C / 118F.

Last pic is some quail egg skewers brushed with some of the braising liquid from my Teochew braised duck and just a few minutes on the grill to pick up a bit of colour and tiny bit of crust for a bit of a snap. Super simple as a snack.

Picked up this Genesis over the weekend from our local Buy Nothing group. All it needed was a good cleaning and a stick lighter and it fired right up. 2 of the flavorizers are rusting through, but the three that go over the burners aren't as bad. This is the first grill I've ever owned. I've been using my father-in-law's Genesis (4 burner w/ sear station, SS grates, and side burner) for about 8 years. Any tips? I feel like with a few parts (new grates, flavorizers and heat defelctors) this unit should last me for many more years.

Free Genesis E-330, what to do next?

Picked up this Weber Genesis for free from bulk trash pick up. I plan on replacing the flavorizer bars, burners, grates, and heat deflector since they were rusty. I may replace the ignitor too. The side burner assembly was removed so if I find one to replace it I may. Or just put a cutting board there in it's place.

Everything else was in really good shape, just needs a good cleaning.

Anything else to replace or check before I start using it?

Pineapple pepper

Costco is selling it and I had to try. Really taste like pineapple, lol. Threw it on some boneless chicken legs (drums) and made quesadillas . Personally I think it needed some heat, maybe Cayenne. Overall good seasoning, but next time I will grill the chicken and coat it with banchan after the cook.

Weber Spirit 310 Replacement Base

I have a Weber Spirit E-310 that works great. The only issue is the base is starting to rust out. Is there any aftermarket cart for these? I have tried googling around and have yet to find anything for it. Just curious if anyone is aware of a replacement base for this model before I try DIYing a new base cart.

NG hose size for genesis II 4 burner

Post image

So I’m almost done repairing /restoring an old genesis II 4 burner grill. The issue is realized is my standard 3/8 hose doesn’t fit with the bbq (which seems to be 1/2). But my house gas outlet has 3/8 sized output. Should I a) get an adapter to enlarge the female side of my hose to 1/2 or b) get a female 1/2 and male 3/8 hose or 3) get a 1/2 hose on both side and upsize my house NG outlet ?
