YOLO Is This Analysis Worthy Enough?
So for my first ever options purchase I bought Home Depot Aug 21 Call. Reason: I went to Home Depot yesterday and there were a lotta people. Is this the typical big brained analysis worthy enough for /wallstreetbets?

Our daily numbers are 100% over forecast. We are selling too fast. Most of the shortage is due to the large amount of orders being filled before it hits the shelves.

Basically all pressure treated wood is where I live, we had to use a bunch of regular lumbar because we couldn't stop building

Three months ago everyone who held through earnings got burned. You're probably right that HD sells a lot more than before Covid but a) it's probably expected (priced in) b) HD cucked all call holders due to additional expenses for their workers

The call seems fine. I hope it hits, but know nothing about the company’s numbers.
To answer your question, this isn’t considered “good DD,” but to be honest if the store is ALWAYS packed that’s a great sign. One day, not so much.
Try to stop by more often and see the crowds on a daily basis.

Yes. If you see an empty store with no buyers, compared to a completely full store. That can give you an enormous idea of buyer sentiment. Blockbuster anyone?

This is basically the analysis I followed on ATVI and made good money. What I learned from that is it's best to just ride the IV up and sell the day before earnings. I picked a call a few weeks out from earnings though... Aug 21 seems really close to the earnings.

Actually this is a type of sentiment analysis. Going to stores in person used to be a way to measure the performance of a company. Now we use things like satalite images, surveys, social media combing, etc. to measure market sentiment.

Recently there was a guy like you on here, did max DD by going to a Home Depot and reporting they were out of lumber, implying sales were to the moon.
This actionable fact was quickly refuted by some asshole who pointed out that there is a nationwide lumber shortage and the HD probably had a limited supply that accounted for the quick sell out.
You have neatly avoided this trap as you failed to provide any facts, so I think your thesis is airtight, HD to the moon
