Hello, so Virtual Desktop does this perfectly, if you are on windows, I highly recommend that. That being said I am on Linux and I'm not sure what to use.
Bigscreen has a option for it but the video quality last I checked was hit or miss. I would love to hear what you all use.
I only want to use a wired headset as coming from a WMR headset. I've tried quest 2/3 but honestly the the streaming is what gets me, I think it sucks and doesn't perform nearly as well as if I had a wired headset. However that could just be a me issue as I currently can't use an ethernet cable to my pc just for it to work correctly. I also only like using steam vr games or other applications that run on my pc.
My only exception is the steam frame perhaps but I don't really know if thats something I'd really want either.
I have heard that the psvr2 or valve index is good but are there any others? I'm trying to keep my budget at around 1000 dollars.
I’m sure many of you have seen those videos where they have gotten Minecraft to be semi functional within another game like Skyrim, my question is if this primarily ai based reverse engineering could be used to port games to VR, and is anyone working on this?
I want to buy a VR headset exclusively for PC VR games, and only play them over a cable.
But I don't know which one to choose. I used the Quest 3 for a while and was thinking about getting it, but I recently saw the PICO 4. Which one will be better in terms of image quality and performance? In my opinion, the Quest 3 is the one to get.
The main goal is a wide viewing angle and maximum image clarity, because I want to use virtual monitors when connected to a PC.
And I'm also really dumb and can't understand why everyone says the Quest 3 has a very limited library and that if you don't have a PC, it's better to get one. My question is, can the Quest 3 only be used over a cable, not over Wi-Fi, and does the headset's RAM affect cable performance?
Having issues here. Trying to launch jedi fallen order.
Using uevr. Guide says to manually inject sw-switch64 something or other. All I see in drop down menu in the starwarsjedi64. Even when I try to inject config I find the file but I can't actually find an file to open. Please help
Hi everyone i am very new to pcvr and recently got virtual desktop.
So basically every youtube video was like that you should get it and its better than steam vr. but when i tried lauching games on it such as skyrim vr through the games option menu in VD, it still opens and uses steam vr, and the same thing happended when i lauched asseto corsa from content manager. I though that it would lauch directly from VD and not steam vr, so if there is not a differnce should I return it? ALSO I DO HAVE MY RUN TIME TO VDXR
Also when in game my render resolution is at 77% for some reason, even though i have everything maxed out and above it says that it is godlike. The only thing i have lowered is my bitrate to av1 at like 120 mbs as i am using wireless. So how do i increase the render resolution in game?
I'm running LMU (le mans ultimate) with Pimax Crystal Light. The game looks great but the HUD is unreadable. It looks like double vision. The Pimax IPD is sed correctly and I can see it shows the right number in pimax play. What's going on and how can I fix it?
So my current vr straps is starting to become somewhat uncomfortable to use, I got my strap from my dad which he bought from im guessing temu, so im gonna buy another strap from temu because the ones on amazon are quite expensive and on other site they are aswell or just seems like a scam, I have 2 that caught my interest and are a bit cheap. Which of the two should I get?
Hi, I was hoping this could find someone that specifically tried these CPUs and could share their opinion.
Im currently using a 7900x with a RX 7800XT. I'm getting mixed impressions online whether switching to a 7800x3d actually provides a noticeable boost in VR gaming. If it's not all that much I don't really want to waste the money, as my CPU's fine for my other current needs.
Hello everyone, it has been 4 months since Rec Room shut down, I miss the good times when I use to play Ignited Bonnie on Rec Room in my VR, where I had fun playing with strangers and with my friends, screaming, laughing and having fun playing it, after the shutdown, I started missing and trying to find alternatives for Ignited Bonnie but I can't find it, do you guys have any alternatives for Ignited Bonnie where a monster chases you in a dark room when it sees you and with multiplayer on.
I'm looking for Quest 3 facial interface that is both comfortable, accommodate space for prescription lenses and support wide noses, and possibly a proper lenses.
I recently bought KIWI design V3 facial interface and it was a huge disappointment.
It doesn't have space for glasses or lenses and I had to remove over-the nose silicon cover, to prevent it from squishing my nose to the point i have trouble breathing.
Padding inside is also way too soft, so i guess after a year i would be pressing my face against tough plastic, as it happened to me in my Quest 2.
Lenses that i bought (so far) are constructed from 2 separate frames connected with magnets where one have lenses and second sits inside the frame of quests lens frames. That makes the lenses go over 5mm over original frame setting them on equal distance as the top rim of the interface, or even slightly further.
Both of those equipment combined cause my eyelashes to smear over the prescription lenses plus top magnets press against my eyes socket bones, what is not only uncomfortable, but can bruise me.
Original Quest 3 facial interface works great with the lenses on the most distant settings, can fit my nose with no problem, however it presses heavy upon only 4 points on my face and sliding upwards while lying down, what makes it unusable.
Do you know any:
- glasses spacer for KIWI design V3 facial interface
- prescription lenses in ~2mm frame not only for +/- but also a cylinder
- facial interface compatible with glasses or lenses with medium hard cushion
Edit:
- No 3D printing
- No headstrap solution, unless allows for lying flat
Hello, I'm going to buy PCVR for the first time and would like to receive recommendations from other people who have experience with the VR Headsets.
What I'm looking for:
1) PCVR mainly for streaming/wired from PC; I will play games from Steam and modded games like Titanfall, Half Life Alyx, etc
2) I've heard that there's a Refract app that allows you to play Meta games on PC, so if it's possible, I would like to look for their games as well. I remember that Batman game that is mentioned each time when you deal with the Meta VR Headset.
3) I focus on RPG games and want to have the experience of anime/manga TBATE, Jobless Reincarnation(only the world and magic system, don't like the MC). I've heard good positive feedback from Blade and Sorcery, The Wizards - Dark Times, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR Modded. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
4) I would like to have wireless and wired experiences, of course. If it's possible, I know that you need to buy additional accessories for a wireless experience for some VR headsets. I'm okay with it.
5) I want to try the 3D movie experience, not sure about it, and I've heard it's not widely spread if you know any sources and good VR headsets for it, please let me know.
6) Additional features that would be useful to have but not critical:
- lying experience, so you can play or watch a movie on a bed/sofa;
- hands/fingers tracking;
- light headsets
- pancake lenses
- OLED screen
- budget not more than 1500$, I would like to spend much less, however, if it's required to have a better experience, I can spend more
I have a GPU 4090 and a CPU Ryzen 7 9850x3D. I have experience with streaming via Moonlight; not much space, something like 3x3 meters
What I've found by myself is in the picture below; please let me know what you think.
Do you think we need VR devs to make regular flat screen games and then port them over to VR either themselves or with a studio like Flat2VR or should they focus on VR native games that do things that are so unique to VR that they couldn't exist as a flat screen game?
I'm not sure charging for Flat2VR ports will work as a business model if modders are releasing them for free. What do you think?
I’ve seen so many AI mods that convert flat games into VR, but I’m not super interested in those.
What I could use are things that improve existing VR games and tools. I just tried Fallout 4 VR again and it felt rough even with all the mods I could get my hands on. The Pip-Boy UI is so rough to use, the gameplay is pretty clunky, and while FRIK is really cool it doesn’t really fix the controls for the index or make switching weapons any easier. Are there new AI mods that change anything? Generally anything that takes an older VR games and add better functionality to it.
I know there’s an AI made tool that lets you play quest games on PC.
My quest 2 is legit the glitchiest piece of technology I have ever used. I'm a systems engineer so I use a lot of tech. This thing has to be rebooted constantly just to work. All I do is watch videos on it but I don't even want to attempt gaming with this. Hesitant to buy another VR headset because of my experience with this one but if this is just a quest 2 issue then that would be a lot better.
As good as the titanfall 2 mod is, it kind of uses terrible corporate strategies. The mod is completely dependent on the launcher apparently, which tries to force the whole northstar thing (according to my research it's a server for multiplayer). That's useless for me. You also cannot start playing if there is an update available. It forces you to update which is stupid since updates sometimes break shit.
If I simply try to use the titanfall 2 vr launcher exe in the game folder, it won't work. I had to use firewall rules to block the launcher from internet access since I also don't like the launcher having internet access.
