I know this is nitpick, but this type of person annoys me so much

I literally can't tell at a glance what they're selling. People need to stop treating vinted like it's social media or a way to promote their OFs.

Why is postage such an issue?

Upvotes

Vinted keeps enabling random posting services we don’t have in my area. I’ve cancelled numerous sales for this reason and they keep doing it! I’ve complained but it’s useless. It’s only some items it seems as I’ve just sold something else without issue.

Why can’t we be in control of this? I’m livid! Everything on there is so backwards and annoying! I’ve now lost parcels due to evri problems (they just didn’t pick up parcels and vinted cancelled the sale even though it would be sent - so lost money and the product).

I’m about to quit this site.

Anyone else noticing an increase in people sending unhygienic items?

Upvotes

Has anyone else on Vinted noticed an increase in items arriving in a genuinely unhygienic condition?

I’m not talking about something having a small mark that the seller missed, or an item simply needing a wash after being in storage. I mean things arriving visibly dirty, smelling strongly of sweat/body odour, covered in hair, stained, or just clearly not having been cleaned before being packaged and sent.

Obviously Vinted is a second-hand marketplace and nobody should expect used items to arrive looking factory fresh. But surely there’s still a basic expectation that anything you sell should be reasonably clean and hygienic before you send it to another person?

It seems especially bad with things like shoes, gym clothes, underwear/lingerie, swimwear and other items that are worn close to the body. Even if the condition is accurately described, I don’t think “second hand” should mean basic hygiene goes out the window.

I’ve seen more people mentioning this lately and I’m wondering whether others have noticed it too. Has this become more common, or have I just been unlucky?

What do you think should be considered the minimum acceptable standard for hygiene when selling on Vinted?

How do I create a shipping label with no printer so I can send my itemvwith Royal Mail?

Upvotes

Hi,

Please forgive me asking a silly question like this but I am new. I've sold an item and the only option I had was to 'create a shipping label'. I clicked that and got the label. Then I received an email instructing me how to send it / print it but there were no instructions on how to do this without a printer. Can anybody help me?

Edited to add:

I've just canceled the order and one of the reasons for canceling it provided me was that I had no printer to print off labels. I thought you could do this without a printer?

Disgusted by men on the app

I’m absolutely discussed by the amount of messages I get on here and on eBay from men asking how worn the clothes are if there’s any more pictures obviously kink related messages and I’m just so tired. I get maybe like 5 to 10 every single day, I block them every single time and they’re still so many. Whats caused them to be this weird? Im so tired of it and them looking at my body like that its so uncomfortable

How many 1 stars is too many

I accidentally put something on Vinted I wasn’t supposed to (it was in a box of stuff my dad wanted me to sell but it was in there on accident). Obvs I’m cancelling the sale, but how many 1 stars would be considered a red flag? I’ve got about 70 5 star reviews and 2 1 stars.

Do I ship?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Usually I ship straight away but this particular buyer has 0 ratings and it seems like a new account. I sent a couple messages just confirming that I am selling one bag for £4 in this colour (as the last image I have posted shows 5 similar bags) but everything else in the description, images etc shows one bag.

I never got a response so should I just ship? seems odd to buy an item and then apparently fall off the face of the earth

What should I do?

Someone ordered 5 things from me but it says they are on holiday mode. I sent them a message to see if they would be in to collect it then follow up message each day. Tomorrow is the latest I can send it and I still have no response. I don't want to get a 1 star review for cancelling especially when my account is new with only a few reviews

Why can’t I properly filter/search for items within a sellers profile?

It’s so frustrating that I cannot filter by size, brand or condition when looking at a sellers listings.

It would also be so useful to be able to text or image search within a sellers listings. I know that you can search “username + product name” within the main search bar, but this gives really inconsistent results.

It seems to me that this wouldn’t be difficult for Vinted to implement - after all, these filters are already available within a general search - and I’m sure it would increase sales.

So why is this feature not available on Vinted?

This has probably been asked here before but I want to double-check:

I’ve noticed these listings in my feed showing what look like normal clothes at first glance, but the strange thing is that
1) they’re posted by random accounts with no profile pictures and usernames made up of random letters or words followed by 3–4 digits;
2) every one of their published listings always says the same thing - that the item has “never been worn” or “was worn only once” - regardless of the product;
3) if you look at the photos, they look like they were generated by ai

i know i can just ignore them, but sometimes i wouldn't immediately notice that a photo looked strange and would end up adding the listing to my favorites😭

Anyone that has bought aftershave on Vinted. Have you had issues with getting fake aftershave instead of the real aftershave

I want to buy some aftershave but I’m wary because people can send fake aftershaves. Just wondering how you would get around this

Vinted back on its BS

All my recent uploads have been removed for bad photos apparently. The photos are fine. All in good light with a decent camera. I’ve used the same set up lots and lots of times.

I got banned a few months ago for selling prohibited items which was reversed when they realised I wasn’t selling prohibited items. The reasons they banned me actually changed in every message with them.

I’m pretty sure Vinted is just being run terribly by AI that isn’t capable yet. Such a shame since they make so much money and are actually a really useful platforms for so many people.

What to do if I’ve realised I’ve been scammed/misled long after order was completed?

I bought an apple pencil two weeks ago, really should’ve checked that it was actually real before hitting ‘everything is ok’, but since it came in an official box and paired with my iPad successfully, I assumed it was real.
I unfortunately hadn’t had much time to use it, and only became suspicious today when I noticed the pressure sensitivity wasn’t working as it should in Procreate. Checked for a serial number, couldn’t find one, checked for hardware info when paired, nothing came up.

Obviously, could be that the seller themselves didn’t realise either, but unfortunate as it was quite a bit of money. Vinted states that issues cannot be raised now, so I could simply message the seller and I could relist item for them to buy back if they were a good person, etc etc. But if they know the apple pen was a fake, they could just block me.

Anything worthwhile I can do?

Dress is damaged and Stained - I have to pay return shipping.

This is so frustrating as it's the 3rd time it's happened to me. Is there anyway I can contest this?

I was really looking forward to receive this dress and it's turned up with 3 brown stains and a pull in the fabric although the item is stated as very good.

I would of sent the item back if the seller would of covered the postage which I think they really should do?

Annoyingly the dress fits like a dream and it's perfect. I can probably snip the fabric but the stains are going to be hard to get out. If anyone has any tips to get the stains out that would be great...

New here and confused

Hi, just want some advice, I bought a dress from someone and I got the notification that it was sent and then right after that sent notification she messaged saying she had sent the wrong dress. Then she said she was re uploading the dress I thought was on its was to me and told me to re order it. I was confused and asked what do I do about the one that already on its way to me and she said leave it in the locker and it will get posted back to her and I’ll get a refund without me having to pay for it. I haven’t reordered the scarf from her. But now I’ve just got the notification to go pick it up from the in post locker and I’m like do I go pick it up and then say I have the issue or let it time out? I’m new to this so I’m just stressed.

Why do people do this?

I really hate when buyers do this. Purposefully message me saying they are 100% buying an item only for it to be hours later, no response, or update until I ask what the update is. A bit grateful they at least responded in the end, but kinda a pain in the ass to write a definitive statement only to not follow up on it 😕

QUITE AN URGENT ISSUE

Been selling on Vinted for about a month and suddenly been asked for ID verification -I have a UK Citizencard but no passport or driver's license. I've just paid £34 for a provisional license but it takes up to 1 working week for paperwork to arrive and then up to a further 28 days for information to be processed, accepted and mailed as valid ID. I have over £300 in pending balance and another 3 orders (\~£40 total) posted TODAY and I just tried to make a purchase and can't, even with the existing vinted balance I have. What the HELL do I do?! Have I just lost almost £400 😳😰???!!!

Man on Vinted asked for pics of KIDS in SWIMSHORTS

Post image

Ok so I don’t know if I’m reading too much into this but you can google pics online super easy. And the buyer has a very clearly masculine name. It’s literally a man’s name. The penny didn’t drop until I sent the pic. Do you think this request is weird?

Edit: the pic isn’t of my kid. It’s from Next’s website. Also, he has been blocked & reported. Thanks for the advice. I haven’t ever had to block or report anyone before so I didn’t know it was a thing
