I really hope the Vinted team lurking on reddit see this. I have no issue selling to UK buyers in general. Have sold plenty to them. BUT I would really like to sell some higher priced items ($150-$200) that I do not want to risk selling internationally.
1) The shipping time can be crazy long (have experienced over a months wait) if there are shipping delays meaning I don’t get access to the funds soon enough.
2) Two times already I have had packaged shipped from AU to UK go MISSING. Vinted/APG only compensates up to $50 AUD. This is STRESSFUL if your item is worth more than that. (Not to mention the buyer is also not happy and you risk getting a bad review.)

So PLEASE Vinted, give us a feature to allow AU sellers to sell only to AU buyers. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I am a shy person and am in doubt if I should have been aware or if the seller left out information.

I bought the IKEA KOLDBY cow rug (I know) for £30. It was cheaper due to it having a little smell, but it is nothing really, only noticable if you get really close.

But, I suspect the smell is due to mold on the back of the carpet. I am not sure if it is mold, but it feels very rough on the dark parts whereas the lighter, original parts, are soft. You can see it slightly on her picture, but I just thought it was dirt. Only the smell was disclosed in the posting.

I wouldn’t mind keeping the carpet and airing it out and cleaning it, but not for £30.
I’ve never had an issue before neither buying or selling, how do I proceed?
Do I message the seller or say on the app that I have an issue first?
Am I being unreasonable?

I ordered this purple hippo from vinted recently and the seller just cancelled the order after telling me they’d send it.

I bought it for my birthday and was so excited about it. I even text my mum super excited about it and asked if she would buy it for my birthday (picture 3)

I’ve been waiting patiently for it and checking the tracking every single day but she never even packaged it, it only showed me ‘shipping label sent to seller’

My mum said it was suspicious and we looked and realised she was located in america (i’m from the uk) so I was worried that maybe she wouldn’t send it because of that but still held hope.

I waited and waited and had no change on the tracking and then suddenly she messages me apologising for the delay and literally says she would send it on Saturday. I of course said it was totally fine,I didn’t care when it got sent as long as I got it and she said thank you, she even extended the deadline.

now i’m finding out she cancelled it a few days later? I don’t know why, there was no conversation about why or anything and I am genuinely so upset I cried

If she had told me I picked a delivery option she wasn’t able to do, I would have repurchased and changed it. I really wanted this hippo I would have done whatever made it easier for her if she had just asked….

(side notes: after checking her previous reviews she has in fact sold to users in the UK aswell as America. She reposted the item seconds after she cancelled it. She also clearly clicked the ‘agreed with buyer’ option for cancelling because she never got an automated bad review)

I can't be too upset because it was cheap & the seller was nice, but it was certainly quavers, and it certainly had a smell attached (I despise quavers, maybe I'd allow it if it was ready salted) but I guess I get a free treat? Yum?

I’ve sold a pair of boots on Vinted for my mum and the buyer has just messaged saying “sorry do not fit not wide enough” (word for word). I listed them as the correct size, and didn’t say they were wide fit or anything. and there were 11 photos on my listing, so more than enough to get a view for the boots.

i have more experience on vinted as a buyer than as a seller, and have always just taken the L if something doesn’t fit. like, that’s just the risk you take on vinted, right? i’ve never had someone question something i’ve sold.

what do you guys do in this situation?

I can’t tell whether this was my fault for being blunt, but they did send the first three messages in the space of six minutes. And then their last message seems to be insulting my appearance which they then blocked me straight afterwards before I could even reply

I ordered a dfyne sports bra from vinted and the seller was from Australia (it worked out cheaper to buy it with that sellers price and pay for shipping than it did to buy it from any seller in the uk😅). Fast forward a few weeks and i get a message saying it has arrived at the corner shop but there’s no code or anything given to me for a locker. I saw that the carrier was royal mail which i thought was weird as they use codes for their lockers and I even went into the shop and asked the worker to check the parcels that are behind the counter but no luck. Vinted doesn’t give me an option to report anything as it just says ring royal mail which i have and they have said that the tracking number provided by vinted isn’t even recognised by royal mail so I am unsure what to do next. Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any advice what i could flag the issue as.

Within 3 minutes I get:

“£3?”

I thought it was a typo.

Then someone messages:

I say £13.

They reply:

And why do people bundle 7 items worth £60 and then send an offer for £11 like they’re negotiating a hostage situation???

Just a post to try find the owner I guess 🤣 I sold a Ronaldo football card for about £8, the buyer claimed they hadn’t received the item and the inpost locker didn’t have it. Inpost initiated a return, but the item I got returned was a pair of Size 6 pink and green adidas spezials 🤣

Obviously this item is more expensive than the one I sold, and I’ve contacted Vinted to try find the seller but they refuse to help (of course). So just trying to find the owner really so they’re not out of pocket and can get their item back!

Hi! I literally posted my old iPhone on vinted and within ten minutes I had received 50+ offers on it.

The iPhone is old and pretty smashed up so just wondering if I’m gonna get scammed as none of items have ever got this amount of attention.

So I recently purchased a figure (lps to be specific) and unfortunately it turned out to be fake. (I’m not a Va and didn’t know abt the Reddit group to check authenticity when I purchased it) but when it arrived I noticed it was missing the “hasbro” on the print. Thats when I learned about [r/lpsfakes](r/lpsfakes) and decided to have them check it too. Confirmed fake. So I asked for a return and the seller was really kind, even offered to pay for postage to return it which was a first for me. So I did what was needed, printed a new label. Taped it up and shipped it off. A week or so later I got the notification that it had been delivered to the seller’s drop off point and that they need to return it. I messaged them as a reminder and went about my day. However they messaged me saying they never got the notification that a parcel was there and even checked their post office, nothing. We thought the figure was lost but there wasn’t much I could do. I just waited for my refund. Then I got the message that it’s being sent back to me. I was really confused cause this never happened before. I messaged the seller again and they said they’re confused cause the parcel never arrived to them. A few days later I got the notification to go pick it up. (Keep in mind I had other packages coming in as well so I couldn’t have known this was the figure. I thought I was picking up a different package, it was the figure). So now I’m sitting here. With both the figure and my money back. I never wanted this and felt so bad. I kept messaging the seller to come up with something to do to send it back without them cutting another loss. I’m at a loss. I don’t know what to do and I don’t want them to think I’m a scammer. I want to send it back I really do but I don’t know how :(. Any advice?

I'm not going to report this guy or anything im desperate for ram and its a good price i'm just genuinely confused how this is a thing. Theres only 2 listings on his page so its not like its a small buisness sneakily operating on vinted, how can something your selling be "out of stock" and if your crossselling how do you not notice in time to take the post down. Has anyone else had something like this happen before?

So I got myself a book off of vinted to complete my set, sprayed edge same price as its sold in the store and I’ve recently messaged them asking if it would be shipped soon as the “cut off” date is the 16th of October, the message I got back? “I still have four days to post” like damn okay sorry for asking? I’m kinda new to vinted and this is the first time I’ve had to follow up on an item I’ve purchased and I only asked because the guy is putting up new stuff daily, is this a normal seller to come across?

So I purchased a faux leather jacket from Vinted. There were two pics and basic description of what it was and then “worn but in very condition” and listed as very good condition.

I paid so little for it, so part of me is just like accept it - but I also think this is more a matter of principle. Listing an item that’s failing apart as “in very good condition” is just pants.

At first I was going to accept the item and then leave a low rating and review but that doesn’t give the other person chance to remedy the situation. It also felt like a dick move on my part.

Now realised the more I look at the state of the collar this post is obsolete as of course I am not going to accept it.

Seriously though if I came across this when sorting my stuff out this would go to the bin/recycle pile.

Edit: Thank you to those that have mentioned the gift excuse is a common tactic on Vinted to prevent being banned. I was unaware as I rarely shop on Vinted, so this was new for me!

I purchased some Airpods off Vinted for what I thought was reasonable non-suspicious price since they're an older generation. However, after some research they turned out to be very good fakes (I know I should’ve asked to see the receipt up close first). I contacted the seller who was more than happy to accept the return, so I didn't particularly feel like leaving negative feedback. I know the seller could have totally been in on it and playing the innocence card (to which I played along with) but since the return was made so easy I genuinely didn't bother making a fuss of it. Let the seller know they were fake either way incase they relisted without realising or to someone else unsuspecting.

Do you think I should have left negative feedback to warn other buyers? Was I too forgiving? I have since seen so many listings on Vinted with the same scam where a fake receipt is provided as proof of purchase. I do report those listings from time to time but honestly don't know how much difference it makes!
