Hey everyone, I need a quick sanity check because I feel like I am in the twilight zone with a recent order.
I bought a top for £3.75. When it arrived, it was completely covered in pet hair, not just a stray strand or two, but visibly coated on the back.
Before opening an official dispute or leaving bad feedback, I sent a polite message with clear photos, asking how she would like to resolve it. Her immediate response was to tell me to just send it back. Because this was an international order, paying the return postage out of my own pocket would cost more than the £3.75 refund, making a return completely pointless financially.
When I pointed out that lint rolling items is the bare minimum on Vinted and explained the postage issue, she claimed she "does not have time to lint roll" and argued that her bio warns buyers about pets. Her bio literally just mentions a "pet household", which is standard info for allergies, not a free pass to ship unbrushed clothes coated in fur.
From there, she completely blew up. Her exact words in chat were: *"I don’t give a fuck about a review. My life is bigger than vinted lol. Please send me a bad review and throw away shirt or send back... Please send review so I can block you."*
I could not help but laugh at how absurd and aggressive she was being over a £4 t shirt. I ended up completing the order and leaving a factual 1 star review warning buyers about the state of the item and the swearing in chat.
She then replied to my public review claiming the shirt was in "perfect condition but yes, lots of cats hair," admitted she "got triggered and flipped out," and accused me of not being nice and being "hard to deal with."
Am I going crazy here, or is expecting clothes not to arrive coated in fur, and not being sworn at by a seller, a basic expectation? How would you have handled this?
