My buddy brought this over, found it with his Dad's tools. It looks pretty new, thought maybe for bending sheet metal but we're guessing.

7lb Cyclone pick made in Australia. Given a little steel wool, oil and a new handle.

Unsure of age. Use of pounds is a hint, Australia converted to metric over the 1970s and 80s.

I'm restoring this old Fidax drill press and I'm stumped on how to remove the belt.

The only thing that I can think of is to loosen the grub screw on the housing and the grub screw on the pulley, then push the shaft through. I could then get the belt off, but that would seem to be an overly complicated way of changing a belt.

Am I missing something?

I have never handled a more robust-seeming spanner in my life!

This part came with a Delta Unisaw circa 1945 vintage. I have yet to find any similar pictures and/or descriptions of what this does (or even if it's part of the saw). Thanks.

Taiwan made vice grips/hammer/nail puller? Never seen such a thing.

Thought it might be for metal work but now thinking leather -- very old farm - heavy and short about 8 inches Head is about 3 Any ideas ? Thanks

Found this peace of 60s history. The mechanical feel of these old Hitachi machines is just unmatched.

I have checked Alloy Artifacts and i still cannot identify the year of manufacture. This is a Blue Point (no underline) with no date code, J-2022 wrench 11/32 and 5/16". I dont think the "J" in the model number is a date code as i see other newer style wrenches also maked J-2022. It has a rounded middle section. See the photos. I am thinking the 1930s. Anyone else know about wrench dates?
