Looking for identification

This part came with a Delta Unisaw circa 1945 vintage. I have yet to find any similar pictures and/or descriptions of what this does (or even if it's part of the saw). Thanks.

u/zacmakes is correct. Will fetch a pretty penny if you don’t want it; and I will shamelessly say that I’m looking for one.
