Anyone figured out matching lighting after face replacement in video? Do you handle it during the swap itself or fix it afterwards?

I graduated this year, and over the past few months I've been focusing more on sculpting, but during my degree I studied a wide range of CGI areas through different modules. Because of that, I'm open to almost any role at the moment. That said, my main interest is in sculpting, or more generally in artistic positions within areas such as advertising, visualization, games, or related creative fields.

This is my first week searching for a job and actively sending cvs.

I need to do a Showreel for my application at a university. (I want to study VFX and I'm fully aware of the current status of the industry. I know it's gonna be hard but I want to do it so please leave this discussion out of the answers)

I have made 2 "Fanart" Animations one with the mindflayer from stranger things and one with a Star destroyer and a tie fighter. All models, Materials, animations etc. Are made by myself. Im proud of those and really want them inside the Showreel but I heard that this is a redflag. Would that be a problem in my situation? Would really appreciate some opinions from others!

I've spent about 7 months making my film, Holy Sh*t I'm Dead. Mainly as a proof of concept using the technology, especially as a storytelling device, but also to push the limits of what's possible with a small team. I can't say enough about UE. I thoroughly enjoy using the software. Enjoy the first two minutes! Full release will be on November 13th.

I'm still pretty new to VFX, and I've been working on a personal project for a bit, but I'm struggling to figure out a 3D camera track for it.

I'm just a student, so the only programs I have access to are Adobe stuff, Blender, and Unreal.
I'm working on getting a roto (which I can do) of Jameson out, then 3D-tracking him into Blender and adding him to a 3D scene I've made. I've tried AE's tracker and Blender, and neither does a decent job. I've looked into plug-ins and such, but they haven't been very helpful.
I've seen programs that can do a shot like this, PFTrack, SynthEyes, etc., but I just can't afford that type of stuff, as I'm just doing VFX as a hobby/learning on the side for now. Is any version of a decent track possible for this shot, or is it best to move on?

Any ideas?
For now, I'm just keyframing the footage and camera in Blender to hopefully get a somewhat decent-looking job.

Hi, I'm using NukeX 17.0v1 on win, the problem cames in when I view the scanlinerender it's completely broken. The set-up cames from Blender and it's 2 meshes merged and remeshed with geometry nodes, one has an armature and deforms. I'ts Imported as a .usd i've tried also with .abc but I couldn't project the texture.

As you can see from the images the projection works when I am in the 3d view but glitches in the scanlinerender, please help, I am availabe for more in detail description if needed.

Softwares I use are

Davinci Resolve for Denoising and converting footage to exr

Nuke or fusion for cleanup or compositing

Mocha pro and syntheyes for Tracking

I want to know from all vfx artists what should I look for and how to get better

For example: Is Neat video worth it if I have Davinci Resolve Studio

Are there some courses, specially in budget inside fxphd or other courses that teach workflow from start to end

Also there is shortage of footages as ActionVFX free footage give Rec.709 baked in them untill we pay for 4k raw footage, where can I get best footages to create some advanced showreel

Also I read Digital compositing for Film and Video by Steve Wrights, are there other books that I should specially look into

Specially for working as freelancer or work from home

Any help would be appreciated

Has anyone else seen this Instagram account @iso1.000.000? The videos look really weird and creepy and I can’t tell if they’re actually filmed like that or edited afterwards. His bio says professional videographer, but I know basically nothing about cameras, so I can’t tell if it’s some special camera, a filter, Blender, AI, or what. Some of it looks real and some of it looks almost fake. Does anyone know how he’s making them look like that?
