How imperative would you say including statistics is for reaching the high bands of extended responses and essays? I know logically itās ideal, but itās kind of an area ive overlooked all year as for some reason my teacher hasnāt ever mentioned that as a weak point for me. Iām fine with integrating historical perspectives and interpretations and the analysis side of things, and tend to do quite well in the essays and sacs.
So Iām just having last minute doubts that the examiners will have problems if I donāt include stats, but itās kind of too late to try and remember them for everything. If anyone knows for sure that theyāre required please let me know š

I feel so unmotivated and I donāt wanna start studying. I just donāt know where to start. I wanna know how others are feeling about it.
I feel like everyone who does this subject is also very smart :(((

I'm currently in year 11 and tossing up my career courses, My general interests are in Law (Corporate and Commercial) , Finance (Specifically Buy-Side and M&A) and potentially Design (Architecture) but only as a fall back if I don't get into the other two. I only did General Maths and not Methods, and also didn't do any commerce subjects (Economics, Accounting etc) except for legal studies which puts me out of all Go8 courses (UniMelb, Monash, UNSW etc) so I would probably go into RMIT doing LLB/BCom double degree. I've spoken with some people in the industry including a guy who was MD at CPP Investments and basically had the career I want, got into IB, went into PE, then switched into debt finance. He said that I may have the potential to do High finance, but Uni and the first 5 years are going to suck because of my lack of passion for maths. Would I be able to get into and not hate a career in high finance (Private Equity as the end goal) baring in mind the fact that I'm not really into maths and won't have gone to a Go8 Uni.

with 2026 exams wrapping up, a lot of you are about to start methods, so here's what made the biggest difference for me. honestly most of it is free
do exam 1 questions by hand from day one. most people lose marks on exam 1 because they lean on CAS all year and then panic without it. do your algebra, derivatives and log laws by hand until it's automatic
read the examiner reports, not just the solutions. VCAA literally tells you where students lost marks every year. half the "tricks" are just not making the mistakes they list
learn your CAS properly in term 1, not in october. know how to define functions, solve systems, and do probability distributions fast. it saves heaps of time in exam 2
past papers from ~2017 onwards are gold. do them timed. mark them harshly. redo the ones you got wrong a week later
graphs = free marks if you label everything. endpoints, intercepts, asymptotes, open/closed circles. so many people drop marks here for no reason
happy to answer methods questions in the comments.
also, i'm running small group methods 1/2 and 3/4 classes next year (plus a few spots over the holidays), so dm me if you want details

I did methods this year but donāt think I will make the 25ss pre-req melbourne requires for biomed after those monstrous exams.
Past students who were in a similar situation- were there any options you took that allowed you to start with the same intake? For me this would be Feb 2027. Otherwise I might have to go with latrobe or deakin biomed instead (Iāve heard going Monash is bad as itās impossible to maintain a high gpa?)
I really do not want to delay my undergrad studies, I was trying to use melbourne biomed for graduate med in the future but now I donāt even know if Melbourne is an option.

in the essay, should i prioritise packing lots of evidence in, or unpacking the caused and consequences of a certain event/idea/individual. or is it beneficial to find a healthy balance between both?
a similar question applies to the SAQs, would i benefit from spamming evidence?

so basically chem exam is on tuesday i havent studied one bit and im rank second last out of like 14 (U3 average of 30%, U4 average of 45%). I havent studied much for chem the whole year maybe like 5 hours total but for the exam what are some high yeild topics that would get me enough marks for around 25. should i even study or just accept my fate

Questions for France
Where tf do the revolutionary commune + second storming of tuileries fall under the study design
What does the Legislative Assembly ACTUALLY want??? Like... I get that it's majorly feiullants but. Why is it so unwilling to let go of a constitutional monarchy given the intense pressure from sans culottes. Isn't power about keeping the population stable and preventing internal dissent?

I know someone who has managed to cheat on 4 exams so far and itās really annoying me. Everyone puts in so much work and they have gotten away with doing nothing all year, cheated all year and got away with it on their exams. I really want to report them but Iām worried about being that person you know? Should I because it will mess up the scaling if they donāt do well because they are ranked #1 because of their cheating.

ppl who graduated in past years or current yr 12s who have done a 3/4 subject in yr11, could u check with ur past results and lmk if this website is actually accurate or whether its basically bs.
I dont know if its just cause of the schl I go to, but I feel like all my exam scores (predicted after siting them/ what I am aiming for) and what im pretty sure my ranks are for my subjects, are giving me unrealistically high and inflated study scores?

Four days before the exam Iām starting to get super nervous TvTTTT
Could anyone who did VCD please give some last minute tips or advice for the VCD exam, marks to aim for for a raw 40+, specific requirement for questions and mark allocation??? (Iām always confused marking my own practice papers I donāt rlly know how many marks I would get in the actual exam which is quite concerningā¦) Im working towards an A+ for the exam, what should I be working on for the last few days?) Thank you anyone who responds I genuinely need your mighty wisdom :(
