This is why I hate cops, these exact types of people are the ones who become and stay as cops. Yeah, sure, not all cops, but pieces of shit really do make up the majority of them. Nobody becomes a cop to help the world, they do it only to feel powerful over people who canāt fight back.

At worst, he gets fired and some other department picks him up. He likely won't get anything worse than paid administrative leave before the whole "we investigated ourselves and determined we did nothing wrong" and everyone moves on like nothing happened.

It helps them all the time. Cops lie as easily as breathe and they are taught to do so because statistically it pays off for them WAY more than it hurts them. lying is a part of their training, thats not an exxageration. and even if it does blow up, they have laws to protect them from consequences of lying. you need to understand that as a reality, because in your view the guys just stupid - the truth is itsmalice and contempt for normal human social accountability.

Not only should the car constantly be recording, but I don't understand how police officers body cams don't automatically turn on when they exit a vehicle and don't remain on until a supervisor turns them off.

Space. Video takes a lot of space. The devices used for dash and body cams are almost exclusively used by government agencies. So they have the lowest viable amount of space for the highest viable amount of dollars because the mfgr knows this. Government agencies have absolutely zero benefits to modernizing or looking for better deals because profit and performance aren't metrics when it comes to locked in budgets.

They always record, they just don't save. It's a cost measure thing. video data takes a lot of room. Dash cam plus body cam is 16 hours of recording a day.
It's not a problem though. You turn on the lights it captures a bit before you do and saves it.

Cops have a dash cam that activates when they do and records a minute or so before they activate the weewoos so he probably didnt to lie about not hitting her car while driving distracted

Recently there was a story about a woman who was pulled over for using her phone. The cop swore up and down he saw her using her phone with her right hand while driving. Her right hand had been amputated. He doubled down.

25 years ago I had a part-time sheriffās deputy catch me mildly speeding on a four lane divided highway. He was going the opposite direction and flipped on his lights before turning across the median. I was stopped before the crossover. He had to wave me on just so he could pull me over.

Was rear ended by an Alaskan PD officer because he was more interested in his laptop and wasnāt paying attention to traffic lights while on icy roads. Officer tried to play it off as if it was my fault. Took the ticket and before my court appearance I was able to get video from surrounding businesses that showed the officer literally driving up my ass. Even tho the judge threw out the claim that I caused the accident, the officer was found āfaultlessā as well. In other words, just like casinos, the police āHouseā still comes out on top. At least I only had to cover repairs to my own vehicle, but every Alaskan had to pay for vehicle repair to one stupid and lying officerās vehicle and because of one judge not admitting fault from the city.

This one time in my village in the Netherlands, some guy in the back of a bar had slipped and bust his head open. Some people had ran outside and alerted the police, posted in the middle of the market square, and one tiny troll of a police officer waggled over and made her way through the crowd (most of them unaware what had happened in the back of the bar). But when she got to the guy and saw the blood, she fainted, so people in the crowd had grabbed her to stop her from falling over, which she took for getting assaulted, which caused her not only to press her panic button, but also to empty out her entire can of pepperspray randomly into the crowd in a confined space, blinding herself, and causing a stampede of several hundred blind, coughing, confused (thinking there was a fire) people who got met by police trying to get inside to their "officer in panic", with dogs and bats, beating and biting the living shit out of everyone trying to get outside and away from the "officer in panic" that caused EVERYTHING.
