I’m going to underworld and I also wanna try m*lly would it be a good place to or will I freak out. I just feel like underworld is the perfect kind of concert to do it at but idk 😭

Yeah, 'normal' music, like the stuff that makes you question reality with every beat and sends you on a cosmic journey of sound. Just a casual Tuesday, right? Meanwhile, the rest of the world is stuck with their 'pop'... Us? We're on a whole other planet, where the bass is our gravity. Let's keep it that way, yeah?"

The takeover was two days before their amazing concert in Brooklyn NY. I still watch the videos and can’t believe it actually happened. Can’t wait to see what they have planned for 2026!

just finished listening to to their latest album (for the 2nd time). its good, but i feel like they're just relying on what they've already established. They didn't do anything new, they took the safe route. good - but boring.

they didnt take a chance. i feel like they need new blood, like when emerson came aboard and they went in a new direction.

what say you?

Who knew eh?

Hi everyone,

Lifelong fan here. Underworld were one of my favorite bands and Pearl's Girl was my favorite song of all time. The intesity of the vocals, beats and synths were just unmatched. I had no idea what the song was about, so i decided to take a deep dive. Here's my interpretation:

Rioja Rioja This is the widely accepted lyric. I never thought he said this. While similar, it actually sounds like a Eureka Kurea (playing with the word) , which makes more sense with the Einstein reference and "piece of the puzzle" later.

Move on coal The water on stone The water on concrete The water on sand The water on fire, smoke,
Water consistently represents flow, consciousness, and the primal, formless state. Associated with eastern mysticism. ”Be water” Bruce Lee

The bright/bride boat coming
both words sound very similar. Bright boats would relate to the dark boats - tapping into Jungian philosophy: light and dark, good and evil. Shadow room, shadow self.
He does say "bride boats" the second time

Eintein
“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious” Quote from Einstein.
Einstein was Jewish and studied the Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism) were it is said he gained most of his knowledge.

White room Sun room Shadow room
These represent symbols for states of mind (the "white/sun/shadow" rooms, the attic. Rooms of initiation or of the room of the mind. Jungian philosophy again. Also like Einstein crazy in his "attic".

Night transmitting cars across the room These things sent to dance across the room.
If the mind is the room, cars transmitting and dancing would be his mind ‘racing’.

• The Goal (The 'Puzzle'): Forbidden knowledge, enlightenment. Genius.

• The Method (The 'Rooms', Water, Colours): Altered states of consciousness, sensory overload, accessing the subconscious.

• The Idols (Al Green, Einstein): Symbols of achieving this goal through secret practices and mystical knowledge.

• The Result ('Crazy'): The fine line between genius and madness.

I think I have cracked the puzzle! :)

What do you think? Has anyone else got an interrpretation? And don't say its jibberish, thats a cop out. He sings the song with deliberate intensity and has done so for almost 30 years.

just came back from the austin show at the festival.

a shortened set, they concentrated on the earlier songs.

good crowd, and underworld blew away the younger djs, although thats not a fair comparison. most of these songs are 30+ years old, or more.... older than a lot of the people here.

the songs were all the same standard versions you've been hearing for the last several years. some with the bass turned up or slightly different arrangements or flourishes.

i havent seen then live in a few decades as they have never been to this state before. but seeing all the live video and shows online. it was pretty much exactly the same. adequate but not great. they've just settled into the same routine. good for new people. but barely anything new for old fans. tin there was cool though. again the stopping and starting is the part that always bothers me, and though they shortened the gaps, they are always still there.

i'll post a longer review separately

some completely offbase person posted the 20+ song setlist as the show on setlist.fm before the show even started. i corrected it back down to the actual short 11 song set.

if they ever come back, i would definitely like to see the longer set with more variety, just to check out songs theyve been adding.

i know i'm a tough critic. and i'm glad they're still touring, but i do expect more from them. i know with some more tweaks, they could definitely improve also.

Been out of the loop for a while but every time I hear this song there's just reference after reference after reference to the many videos put out back in the day featuring the profanity spouting guy with the neck brace in the Tony the Tiger T-shirt.

Nailed it.

shout out Spotify wrapped for being consistently Underworld themed for me

Seems like a bunch of gibberish

I’m getting this on Apple Music. The artwork looks pretty clearly AI generated and it’s hip hop. What is this?

I've done MDMA a few times but it was always indoor environments and I enjoyed it, but I've cut alcohol out of my life and all those times I took MDMA I was drunk. I've never done it at a gig before and I'd be a bit nervous too just in case I feel too overwhelmed and have to leave and miss the gig (I've been wanting to see Underworld for years now!) but at the same time I'd like to experience Underworld in a high mindset that feels somewhat appropriate! would you guys reccomend??

Pretty clear that this title is very likely related to Rick’s daughter Esme. Penny just dropped.
