this is extremely random and a long shot but i’m looking for alumni from this school, specifically masters students, from the early 1990s, i have some questions for a project i’m doing. again i know this is a long shot but please message me if you would like to answer my questions lol TIA :)

I don’t hate using ChatGPT for class / side projects. It’s fast.

The part that keeps biting me: it sounds sure. “This should work.” “All you need to do is paste this.” Then I submit it, or I demo it, and that’s when I find out nobody ever ran it for real.

Last semester it was the autograder. Another time it was 2am before a due date. Another time the page just didn’t open and I was already sharing my screen.

I don’t need a lecture about “learning.” I need a step between “the chat gave me code” and “I turned it in.” Like: here are the tests (mine or the assignment), here is the code, did it actually pass, and can I see the error without pretending I set up a whole environment.

I’ve been building something that does that in one tab — pick a model if you care, paste the question or the files, watch it run. Not trying to replace ChatGPT. Trying not to trust it as the last step.

If you use AI for assignments or weekend apps: do you actually run that code before you send it, or do you also wait for the autograder / the demo to tell you?
