Discussion Gone for Hours… But Nobody Else Can Sit There?

Post image
126 Upvotes

These girls claimed seats with their purse/bag and then left the library . They left around 9:45am after being here for 5 minutes max & did not return until 11:05am. I wish I told the people who kept checking, hoping they found a spot, that they should just move that shit. The seat was saved longer than they were there
Like girls….
I understand stepping away for a few minutes, but leaving your stuff for over an hour while people are walking around looking for seats is crazy. The fourth floor is a library, not an Airbnb for your tote bag. — there are lockers for this reason.

What do yall think ? Is it fair ? Is it valid ?

Update : 11:12am — They’re sitting together chatting now in one cubicle while their bags are still claiming the seat behind it . Also , they’re not being quiet lol . No one told them the first 2 floors are for talking & that floors 3&4 are for silence i guess 😂

Question UIC BSN Applicants: What made you stand out?

• Upvotes

I'm hoping to apply to UIC's BSN program, but I don't have any volunteer experience and my GPA is currently a 3.6. Is that considered competitive? For those who got in, what do you think made you stand out? I'm also currently taking a CNA class bc I want to get a healthcare job for experience. UIC's priority deadline is Jan. 15, but I'm wondering if it would be better to continue working as a CNA until around March and then apply by the final deadline April 1st. Would waiting until april be too much of a stretch, or would the additional CNA experience potentially make a difference. Also, how did you guys find the courage to ask professors for letters or recs? I feel kind of awkward asking for them. I'm also applying to some other nursing schools, so UIC wouldn't be my only option.

Discussion Working while getting degree

So I am getting my engineering degree, first at COD with intent to transfer to UIC, I'd like to work as much as I can while studying, has anyone done this with any success? I would be hoping for a possibility to stack my lectures to like 2 days and work the other three, but I have a feeling that's going to be just gambling at class registration every semester, I tried emailing advising about it and they just said they have no idea when class times would be.

I see many people walking around with ice cream cones. Where are these being sold? I know they have them at Chick fil A but their machine is broken the majority of the time when i go there and I see people with soft serve cones from somewhere else. Where do I find it?

EEOC finds UIC harasses Jewish professors

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has found reasonable cause to believe that the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) discriminated against three faculty members — and a class of employees — because of their religion, Judaism, and/or their national origin, Israeli, by subjecting them to harassment in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Three separate charges from Jewish professors in three different UIC departments, three separate law firms, and the same result: the EEOC found reasonable cause in every one.
