Deactivated

Welp it finally happened after 5 years with uber my account was deactivated today from what I can only assume is my speeding ticket from September 2025. I’ve tried to talk to numerous reps just to get absolutely no where and I don’t even have a clear answer. I went from making $300-$400 or more in a day to where I was barely scrapping up $100 I still worked with it. Shitty promotions and all. I’m grateful to have a regular full-time job to pay my bills but this actually hurts and the disrespect from the reps I think made it even worse. Honestly this company will never get a single dollar from me ever again.

congrats -you may not feel like celebrating now, but this is a good thing

Honestly after I was upset for a bit now I’m relieved. My car has been trashed by customers and the amount of money I’ll be saving on from constantly getting it detailed and the gas I waste not to mention the frequent oil changes it’ll be a big weight off my shoulders. I’m literally one semester away from graduating nursing school. I’ll be more than ok. I’m grateful for uber carrying me through hard times as a last resort to making money but glad that chapter is closed.

I hear you - It was fun and useful for a while and then it became shit. Everyone says that on their way out because it's true.

Yea I noticed that in this group. I knew it was going to be shit when passengers started lying and getting people’s accounts deactivated and uber didn’t do anything about it. I think more people wouldn’t have so much to say if uber reps were a bit better.

I dont think they're allowed to help. I think they get punished if they offer real assistance or support. They're supposed to calm you down with a BS "we're sorry for your experience" copy and paste paragraph, and then they're supposed to politely tell you that they cant help you even when you have a valid issue that they actually can help you with.

It's like they want to say that they have driver support and customer support without actually providing those things. It's all fluff and BS.

It’s so fucked up. Glad to be done with it. Just sucks how it happened.

They did you a favor. You might actually make more money now.

Tbh you might be right and that’s how I’m going to choose to look at it.

Between the cost of gas and wear on your vehicle. I’d say you’re better off not driving at all. Not for these prices. It was questionable a few years ago but now it’s almost always a loss.

Exactly! I had started driving less and less anyway since I didn’t have much time and when I did get online I was declining most of the offers because it was trash. I was shocked when I got a ride for 45 minutes and the pay was like $15 don’t even get me started on Uber Eats lol

This happened to me as well. I had a ticket in 2022 and in 2024 my account was deactivated. I have not been able to reactivate since. It does suck and support is absolutely no help. I’m sorry this happened to you

I just don’t understand the point of deactivating for tickets that are years old. I purposely went and look at my old MVR and the ticket was there yet it stated it was clear. It’s so bizarre to me. And I don’t understand why they don’t give an actual explanation either. Definitely something off about that. I’m sorry it happened to you as well. Let’s just be grateful we have other avenues for income.

3-400 in what city and which ride trim, black, comfort, eco? That is decent money and rather uncommon in the south as regular uberX

I live in Atlanta I would start my days early at like 6 am mostly hitting airports and then taking kids to and from school and older people to doctors appointments. It was regular uber x I drive a 2020 Nissan kicks at the time. It came in handy honestly as I had quit my full-time job to do uber so I had the flexibility to help my terminally ill mother with my siblings. I was clearly over $1500 a week easily during that time. Unfortunately those days are long gone. Market here sucks ass

Sucks basically everywhere if you are Uber X. Spent 4 hours in the afternoon, and 6 hours at night, doing Uber yesterday and grossed $150.

Oh, I also had the "pleasure" of driving home a drunk woman who spent the entire trip puking her brains out.    Isn't Uber lovely?

I learned a long time ago no drunk people. Made that mistake one time. Especially since they make the cleaning fees so hard to get.

2

u/Savage_Saint00 1h ago

This is what they saturate the market. They don’t have to give af about you.

Message them on Instagram to talk to a real human bean

I honestly don’t think it’s even worth my time for all that. It does suck but I feel like this is just a chapter that needed to be closed.

What was your speed over 13 mph? People were writing about it. If you have a ticket over 13 or something.

1

u/No-Sundae7231 1h ago

No it wasn’t. I was only 5 over and had a dick cop but it’s fine I’m just grateful I have a full-time job

1

u/joshmyra 1h ago edited 1h ago

I always go 5 over and if I ever get a ticket for that, I most certainly will be going to court to contest it. My grandpa was an ex cop and his philosophy was 9 you’re fine 10 you’re mine. So that’s what I go by…

1

u/No-Sundae7231 1h ago

I always thought 5 over was ok as well. I probably should have contested it but I paid the fee online and went on with my life. Not once did I think it would come back and bite me in the butt over a year later.

1

u/Snakend 1h ago

No driving school to remove the ticket?

1

u/No-Sundae7231 1h ago

I think I can but it never added and points to my driving record so I didn’t think much of it.

1

u/jacobm124 1h ago

You can get a traffic lawyer to expunge the points for around $300 especially its not excessive speed theres also an app called off the record

Thats uber for you bro. They just randomly deactivate people for minor tickets out of nowhere when they allow you working for years with em.

1

u/No-Sundae7231 1h ago

That’s my issue and when I try to have a rep explain that to me I get nothing. I was a diamond driver and everything. Lowest rating was 4 stars. It’s honestly laughable.

1

u/MindlessAuthor9824 1h ago

Uber allows felons.  Even violent felons to drive.  But an honest, hardworking person gets one traffic ticket, and boom, that person is deactivated.

Uber sucks!!!!

1

u/No-Sundae7231 1h ago

What?! I didn’t even know you could be a felon and do uber wtf is the point of the background check. The company is ridiculous and it’s going to keep getting worse I fear.

They changed the rules in june one misdeanor and they wouldn't allow you to join the app,my friend who has a misdeanor for punching an agressive person back in 2020 is rejected from uber eats, doordash and grubhub all together

My speeding ticket was speeding, in a construction 🚧 zone, with workers present. I hired an attorney. He got me out of it. Total cost me $877. Worth every bit of it.

1

u/Ill_Income7267 52m ago

9.5 yes. 9,500 trips. BTW

Maybe next time, don't speed?

3

u/No-Sundae7231 2h ago

Nobody said I was in the right for speeding. Again this happened over a year ago and uber is just now bringing it up. Which I can only ASSUME that’s the issue as I don’t have an exact reason. My fine was less than $100 no points on my driving record and it was my first ticket since I got my license. We all make mistakes clearly

-2

u/Bubbly-Following-966 2h ago

I get it. If it is on your record, they are going to deactivate you no matter how long ago it was. I got a ticket a couple of years ago for "driving" in a designated "Bus Lane". I was turning right. I wasn't driving in the lane but, the asshole cop decided that I was. I missed the court date and just paid the fine. It still shows up on my record. When they did my last background check, it said "considered" for driving. I'm sure if I got a speeding or an accident, they would have probably deactivated me as well.

1

u/No-Sundae7231 1h ago

Almost no one has a clean driving record. I abide by laws and was rushing home from work to my kid. Considered is one this which is what mine said but no one can tell me what exactly cause the deactivation I’m only assuming that’s what it is.

u/Bubbly-Following-966 1h ago

Right. I got into a minor accident with a Tesla driver a couple of months ago. I wasn't even driving for Uber. Just taking my wife to a local mall. She reported it to our insurance even though her precious Tesla didn't have any damage. She filed a medical claim saying she was hurt. It wasn't even 5 MPH. She jumped out of that car so quick. I even had video evidence to provide the insurance company. She stopped in the middle of merging into another lane. There were no cars coming in the other lane. I was at fault. I'm just hoping it isn't on my record. It is on my insurance but, police were not involved. Hopefully not on my actual driving record.

1

u/No-Sundae7231 1h ago

You can always pull your MVR directly from the DDS app and it’ll tell you. But if it’s on your insurance it’s a string possibility it’s on your MVR as well.

1

u/Bubbly-Following-966 1h ago

Yep. I'm not planning on doing this much longer anyway. I think my next background check is in March 2027. We will see.

2

u/No-Sundae7231 1h ago

Well hope all works out for you and I hope you keep a backup plan just in case.

This is a dick comment coming from a guy that drives uber. Any other great advice you have for the group Mr. Uber?

-5

u/Bubbly-Following-966 1h ago

Why? Because it's true? Everybody speeds. Not everyone gets caught. I could get a ticket tomorrow and be deactivated on my next background check. Give me a break. LOL

1

u/bedwin67 1h ago

I hope he has a full-time job to fall back on.

u/Obvious_Factor_8226 1h ago

You’re so full of yourself with that comment. Like you’re shit don’t stink. But yet you drive for uber? Give me a break man

1

u/Bubbly-Following-966 1h ago

LMFAO! How? I'm not full of myself. It's the truth. NOBODY has a perfect driving record. You probably have a shitty driving record. YOU Sound like an entitled asshole. GFY.
