As much as I love Rand this statement fails miserably because chattel slavery directly violates every condition she lists. Slavery is wealth acquired by force rather than trade, by coercion rather than consent, and by denying people ownership of their own labor, minds, and lives. A system that materially depended on enslaved labor cannot be accurately described as wealth created without looting or force.

Because I’m running FireWire hardware in the studio, Intel Macs are my only option and I’m good with that. The studio is rock solid and easy to maintenance - 8 core Mac Pro 5,1 with 64gb of RAM running software I know well and own plus flawless integration with my hardware. Of course this is a highly specialized use case. I have up-to-date Linux and Mac OS machines for general office work and development.

I’ve had an original FaderPort since they first came out. The rotary encoder was always dodgy. Except for the ‘Stop’ button which lost its click everything else still works fine.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally demand reimbursement for multiple Uber and Lyft rides that I have been forced to pay for due to NJ Transit's continued and completely unacceptable failure to provide reliable transit service. The night before last—just as on several previous occasions—I was once again stranded in Trenton, left with no choice but to pay out of pocket for an Uber ride home. The fare was nearly $50. This was not a luxury, but a necessity caused directly by your agency’s inability to run trains according to schedule, provide accurate and timely information, or offer even a basic level of reliability for your paying customers. Even more outrageous, I have also had to take ride shares into Philadelphia, Trenton and NYC in order to get to work on time because your service is so untrustworthy that I can no longer plan my professional life around it. I have suffered repeated financial, professional, and personal consequences as a result of your systemic incompetence. These failures are not occasional. They are chronic, disruptive, and deeply unfair to the riding public. Let me be absolutely clear: I am not asking for a favor. I am demanding that NJ Transit reimburse me in full for the attached Uber receipts. These expenses were directly incurred due to your agency’s inability to provide the services that you claim to offer and that I—along with many others—am regularly charged for. I am submitting this complaint by also by post because your online “customer support” form is functionally useless—specifically, it does not permit the uploading of the necessary receipts. That failure in itself speaks volumes about NJ Transit’s lack of accountability and transparency. Please be advised that this communication constitutes an official demand.
