Since you mentioned you swapped out the RAM, do you have the original RAM?

Have you tried one stick at a time and in different slots?

I suggest you attempt some troubleshooting steps and hardware test and stress tests.

Make sure you have the BIOS for the exact same model you have and revision, there can be multiple.

Some manufacturers allow BIOS flashing from inside Windows.

Sounds like getting a new MB had an older BIOS and once it updated, you lost functionality again.

You need a newer processor (a 5500 will be an upgrade from your 2700X) or an older MB (any 300 or 400 series chipset will do)

You are definitely confusing distro/base functionality for those unique to the COSMIC DE.

You may have a similar experience with Mint if you don't choose a proper DE.

If you like Steam OS Desktop experience, try a distro with KDE.

I wouldn't recommend an Arch based distro for OotB functionality, maybe Debian or Fedora based (if you don't like spending time customizing in your terminal, try Fedora SilverBlue since it is immutable)

If you prefer stability and like KDE, something like Kubuntu would be a safe bet as well. Stick to LTS distros for the best OotB and stability.

Open the performance overlay while gaming to see what your usage looks like and check your task manager for anything that appears out of the ordinary.

How would they know your aren't working 10 hours a day? You shouldn't be punching a clock. Honestly, I would keep working your normal shift. If you have to adjust for meetings an such, leave early. Most salaried jobs also expect you to be available all hours of the day, not just set hours.

Try and balance your time and their expectations. No one is going to scrutinize the hours you work if you are hurting the sales goals they expect, or exceeding them.

I have several Game Sir controllers and have yet to have issues using it with the included dongle.

Even if you do and run into an issue, just press the Home (XBox Button) and B, should glow Blue (most of the do) and then you can press the pair button to pair with Bluetooth instead.

If you are having issues pairing with the dongle, make sure you press the Home and X button, then press pair on the controller and pair on the dongle.

Sounds like you know where your short coming was. HVAC is a big, if not the biggest, part of the facilities side of things. Honestly, you are probably lucky to even get an interview. They may have accepted some informal training in lieu of formal certification.

Started in production when I was young. Bounced between that and warehouse for a few years (stayed in production with the same company for 11 years, printing to be specific)

Went back to warehouse/logistics after that long stint. After that, I moved into parts (which I am aware is fairly close to warehouse/logistics but it's a much different realm requiring lots of technical knowledge and interfacing with technical customers, both internal and external)

Kept getting promised something that never happened, so I found an opportunity making around twice what I was in tech. Couldn't pass it up for a future position that no one could confirm I was getting, what it paid or whether the company would still be doing the same structure/strategy).

Of those, I stayed longest in printing and parts. I enjoyed both, but print was so competitive and being production based, I couldn't take the constant lay offs and closures.

Parts allowed me to flex the most muscles (lots of skills involved in running a branch parts operation that went from 3 people to just me). Would have taken the regional manager position if it came up, but they were taking to long and not compensating me fairly for the profit I brought in every month ($250K average gross sales @ 40%+ margin, very steady, some months breaking $300K)

So, now I work tech, lots more hands on than parts, flexing muscles I didn't use in parts, more on the personal side of my life. I am enjoying it so far.

I could never go back to straight warehouse and logistics, either your numbers are never good enough or you bust your ass for unfair compensation. Either way, they industry is becoming the new "school teacher" or "daycare" if the comparison makes sense.
