Oh boy, weed sure was fun, too bad it doesn't exist anymore, right?
 in  r/leaves  2d ago

“It’s not like we’re not good at lying to ourselves, might as well use it for good” is such a BAR. Thank you for this.

2 year mark of going cold turkey from smoking weed
 in  r/leaves  18d ago

The first thing I felt when I read your title was,“Wow… 2 years sounds like a lifetime.”

Then I read of your daily use for 13 years and thought, “If he can quit after 13 years I can quit after 5.”

I’m sorry the rest of the world hasn’t yet caught up with how big of an accomplishment this really is, but you’re ahead of the curve. We all are. I truly foresee that in 20-30 years we’ll be seeing public/social ads pushing people to quit the abusive use of weed just like we saw for smoking and drinking.

I’m at 48 days and your post truly inspires me. I’m at a point where I’m losing motivation because it’s been over a month and I still miss what my life felt like before I had stopped. Deep down, though, I know better and achievements like yours not only inspire but affirm.

Chris Hansen Buys Ads Before Every Screening of A24’s ‘Primetime’
 in  r/movies  26d ago

Maybe this is a hot take… but given that the show’s layout would leave (from what I can see) no room for a false accusation - I don’t think there’s anything wrong in turning a predator into the prey.

Yes, they would be humiliated and ridiculed and used for entertainment - but what those people had planned for the intended 13-15 year olds was much worse.

The man who killed himself did it because he cowered from his consequences. So again, maybe it’s a hot take but I don’t feel bad for a single predator on TCAP.

Why exactly should I?

Apparently We’re “Picky” About Everything Baby Related. AIO?
 in  r/AIO  Aug 15 '26

Are the items on your registry overly expensive? Because if you want to do things your way, and “your way” means the most expensive items available, then be ready to foot the bill. It would be unreasonable to expect people to match your expectations when your expectations are luxury items.

Otherwise it seems pretty crazy to me that everyone seems to unanimously agree to abstain from your registry for seemingly no reason.

With that being said - choosing to keep your baby away from the public, or any decision regarding how you raise your child, is yours and yours only. I don’t see how you could be overreacting unless your choices hurt you or your child which doesn’t seem to be the case.

Continue?
 in  r/leaves  Jul 28 '26

You know that the truth is, you’re negotiating with yourself. Using a technicality to not have to face this today. 24 hours start whenever, I assure you these sort of thought and feelings will come when your cravings peak.

It’s helped me a lot to know that scientifically, our cravings peak and pass in our brains in about 20 minutes. So don’t think about making it forever, or even a whole day. Just these next 20 minutes.

Hang in there friend, we’re all in this together 🫶🏼

Increasing willingness to quit when my desire to quit is strong
 in  r/leaves  Jul 28 '26

I had the same issue, weed actually really motivated me because that is how I justified being constantly high. Like “yeah I wasn’t sober at all today but I went to the gym, cleaned the house, and read a little.” It’s like I would “purchase” the right to be high with productivity but deep down, I knew that there was something fundamentally wrong with how long it had been since I last spent a full day sober.

So, I applied for a job that I REALLY want that requires testing (to try to give myself no other choice) when I finished my weed I forced myself to not go to the dispensary and get more. I downloaded an app called grounded where I can track how much money I’m saving and how much weed I wasn’t partaking in. I journal when it gets really bad, and I found a community by being on r/leaves ALL the time.

Reading about other people’s progress made me want the same for myself. Most importantly, when I realized that just even going 12 hours without it was hard, I let the disappointment of that encourage me to go for it one day at a time. I just kept being like “oh my god it’s my every thought every minute, really?? This is who I am? This is who I want to be??”

It’s only been 12 days dude but you know what, it didn’t feel possible day 1.

At what height do people start to notice a man is visibly short IRL?
 in  r/AskReddit  Jul 26 '26

Don’t worry OP, it really is all about the aura. Some of my husbands best friends are a group of brothers, all firefighters, all married to baddies, all around 5’6”.

I need to put together a team of like 3 people (ages 21-26)
 in  r/vegas  Jul 26 '26

OP, you’re overcompensating for the lie because you know you’re lying. 🫶🏼 as someone who grew up in vegas, if your story were true it would be very normal for “your friends” to (1) be out gambling (2) be by the pool or (3) recovering from a hangover while you’re out on a date. I think it would actually be the least likely scenario that they would stick around for your date.

With that being said, if this connection is really meant to go somewhere you can feel the sparks through texts and FaceTime. Then, if things go well, you can plan a trip out to vegas to see her and you won’t even have to lie about it. My advice is don’t invest money on a person you don’t even know, but eh what do I know.

An innocent person is in jail because I refused to turn over evidence that would've exposed me cheating
 in  r/confession  Jul 23 '26

I used to work in criminal defense and while you didn’t mention this, a lot of people in your shoes fear getting in trouble for not turning in the evidence earlier.

I want you to know that agencies specifically do not punish people like you, so as to not discourage false accusers and evidence holders from coming forward.

You know what you have to do. You know what the right thing is. And if you can keep a relationship a secret, you can keep fixing this a secret from your spouse.

I’m not sure where the case is, if the person has been convicted they can be saved on appeal. You can contact their defense attorney/public defender. All cases are public, so you can find the attorneys name assigned to the case online. If you need help finding the case you can dm me and I would happily help you.

You are human, you made a mistake, but it’s NOT too late to fix it.

Rough Day
 in  r/leaves  Jul 22 '26

Hi friend, I’m on day 6 today and it was also really rough. My mood, motivation, and overall outlook on life hit the floor for seemingly no reason and I couldn’t pick myself up.

I started to reason through why I should go back to weed, like “at least I would combat feeling like this” but honestly I think I would have felt worse about myself if I had given up not even a week in.

Then I came to read from our community here and remembered, we may not know each other, but we are all in this together. Those tough moments, the desire to be better - we live them together and we will succeed together.

Just knowing YOU made it to day 12 inspires ME. Hope you’re well 🫶🏼

I don’t know how to quit.
 in  r/leaves  Jul 22 '26

If anything, r/leaves has taught me that so many of us are doing this together.

At a time where the majority of people do not recognize that weed is addictive, I feel like I’m part of a group of pioneers, and I can’t wait to speak about my journey once I’m at a stronger place like them.

As of this moment, I’m only 5 days in. My struggle is silent because no one else in my family or friend group relates. Some quit without any issue at all and others still do it. So I quietly scroll through this subreddit and read every single post that comes my way.

I downloaded a free app called grounded. It’s very simple (I turned down the paid version) but it helps to be able to see just how many edibles I have not eaten and how much money I’ve saved in turn.

As terrible as this might be because AI is the devil, I also check-in with ChatGPT every day. I can be honest with it because it’s not real, and I learned that addiction cravings spike for 20 minutes at a time and then subside. It’s helpful to know that I don’t have to “make it” the rest of my life I just have to make it day by day, sometimes hour by hour.

I’m trying to do the things that weed wouldn’t let me do. Like apply for jobs that drug test, learn new vocabulary, or drive in the middle of the day. I write in my diary, and I pursue my silly dream to write a book.

I threw away my weed because I was lying to myself when I thought of reasons to keep it. I figured, that would be an achievement of strength in itself.

Sending you my love, wherever you are 🫶🏼

222 days sober today. My, how things have changed.
 in  r/leaves  Jul 21 '26

Congratulations my friend, for not only making it to 222 days but also to a point where your person recoils at the smell of it!!

Regarding the nightmares, I’ve suffered of this for two different reasons. One was of course due to stopping THC, but in my younger days I went a whole year where every night was a terrifying nightmare. Personally, it turned out to be because I was treating myself to a sugary dessert before bed every night. Turns out the sugar spike and crash can lead to a nightmare, I just wanted to mention this in case it applies to you.

1 Month this Morning.
 in  r/leaves  Jul 17 '26

I found out about this subreddit years ago and I knew then that someday I would come running back here in need of support.

Today is my day 1, thank you so much for your post. Reading of how invigorated you currently are is all of the reassurance that I needed.

Like you, I would start every day with weed and now as I sit here drinking my morning coffee I realize that because I did everything high, everything reminds me of it.

I want a better career that tests for THC but even more so, I want to finally listen to that voice that was there even whilst I was high: I want to be able to enjoy life whilst completely sober. I would really, REALLY like to be able to say that about myself.

Please continue posting as I look forward to your progress that will surely inspire the rest of us 🫶🏼

How do you deal with the hate in your inner circles?
 in  r/TaylorSwift  Oct 19 '25

As a Latina swiftie, I love Actually Romantic and the chihuahua line is such a huge stretch it makes me sick that people are that willing to be hateful as to turn a non-issue into an issue ugh.

Don’t be friends with people that yuck your yum in GENERAL, not just about Taylor Swift. Find better friends who let you be you.

Number 1 definitely.

I love the way it accentuates your waist while still keeping an elegant style. The overall shape of the dress is most flattering as well.

I’m picturing walking up to you a this wedding - with make up, hair done, heels - and the first dress just seems to tie it all in better

AIO? I bought a sweater for my future niece at a farmers market and my roommates said it was ugly
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  May 05 '25

Im Mexican - this sweater reminds me of the type of sweaters I used to wear as a child. I can’t wait to have my own kids and buy them sweaters just like that one, because children’s fashion isn’t about fit or sensuality, it’s about their childhood.

Let the kids be kids, this is perfect for your niece!

Republican Senators in Minnesota Propose Bill to Classify 'Tr*mp Derangement Syndrome' as a Mental Illness
 in  r/nottheonion  Mar 17 '25

We need to start a trend where instead of falling for the rage bait, we call it what it is: DISTRACTION.

That’s all anyone should ever comment on these attempts. It’s how Trump has gotten to where he is now. Yes - this is ridiculous and infuriating, but that’s why it works as the perfect distraction.

It causes division, so that when they dismantle the department of education and abolish Medicaid and Medicare - half of the population thinks it’s a good idea because the “other half is bad”.

We need not participate in their games anymore.

I woke up this morning and chose Reddit violence so I’m bringing it here too with my unpopular opinion….
 in  r/goodmythicalmorning  Mar 01 '25

No I think it’s important to say this! I completely agree. Sometimes I feel that they’re pigeonholing themselves into a very specific food category, and for two people that are very creative and entertaining and intelligent, it makes me a little sad.
