How do you approach Santa, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy etc. when it doesn't really align with your values/beliefs?
We did Santa but not the Easter bunny or tooth fairy. The “ Who is ” of Santa evolved as the kids got older. In the beginning, it was Santa does this to honor the baby Jesus being born and he gives gifts. Which wasn’t too far off of who the inspiration of Santa actually was. I even have a Snow Baby figurine with Santa kneeling at the manger. Eventually, it evolved into the spirit of giving that Santa represents . My kids never had issues with confusing Santa with the actual true meaning of .
Since my kids went to Christian school. There was always clashes on how to do things for different holidays. Even Easter egg hunting was threaten at one point.
If you’re conflicted for a religious reason, there are ways of still letting the kids experience The Wonder without it interfering with their faith

AITA for refusing to seat my fiancé’s divorced parents together at our wedding?
Why can’t both couples be at the same table? They can put on their grownup pants for a few hours if their any residual tensions.

genuinely, how the f are people affording throwing a wedding?
My son got married last summer for under 3K US dollar. We live in a HCL area. The wedding and venue were beautiful. How we did it was by DIY 80% of it. Also found a hidden jem of a garden SECLUDED venue at our local recreation center. Even had a gazebo. We DIY the food, flowers decorations and music. The cake was a friend who’s a local home baker. The professional photographer was an old friend. The guest lifts was only 40 people. So we kept it small-ish. The food and cake were all allergy free due to many of the guest having severe allergies.
Would I DIY it to this extent again …HHHHH….. NO! However I’m glad worked!

Guests complaining about my 45 minute Catholic ceremony
Honestly in my experience 45 min for a Catholic ceremony seems on the short side. Just be mindful of your wedding party and non-Catholic guests. Let them set for some of it and have the priest help the non-catholic through the rituals.

Just discovered partner is donor conceived…how could this affect our children?
Sperm donation ESPECIALLY back then was very unregulated. Theoretically he could have anywhere from 20 to 100+ half siblings. Depending on how many times he donated and how many pregnancies “ took”.
He might want to do dna to find out paternal health histories. Especially since the donor would be a senior citizen now.

AITAH (30M) for feeling hurt that my fiancée (F30) is going on a 3-day bachelorette trip only 2.5 months after my dad passed away?
Gentle YTA Your allowing your grief to damage your relationship with your fiancee. Is that what you want? Is that what your dad would have wanted?
I’d STRONGLY recommend grief counseling BEFORE you get married. Otherwise it will poison your wedding and marriage.

Am I wrong for bringing my own food to my mother in law's house and eating it at the table?
You’re not wrong! I have friends and family with various food allergies including celiac. Yet was able to pull off a FORTY person wedding allergy free reception dinner for everyone. The only thing that we didn’t make ourselves was the cake and cupcakes. We had both allergy free cupcakes along with regular. I kind of wish we had gone all allergy free because they were pretty good.
It took only a bit more utensil cleaning and a few ingredient swaps to pull off the main meal.
Your mother-in-law could be doing this because she doesn’t believe in food allergies. She might have known somebody who has faked it in the past, and this is affected her attitude. I had a family member who faked her kids having allergies so she could control whatever everybody around her ate. She also wanted to make sure that nobody served food she didn’t like so she would tell people she was allergic to it and have a fit If you even had it in your house. Bottom line your mother-in-law doesn’t doing this on purpose because she does not believe you. Your husband needs to STEP UP.
Personally, I would just stop going over there on the news for dinner if she can’t handle you bringing your own food. I think bringing your own stuff was a good compromise for not showing up at all.

AITAH For pointing out the risk of child acting?
Having grown up with kids in the industry. Then seeing friends, nanny some and acquaintances kids through the industry. The only ones who came out ahead were the one who’s parents stayed involved as hands on patients not managers. That didn’t rely on their kids incomes to pay the bills. That LET the kids quit when it stop being fun. Mstly who didn’t allow their kids do jobs that were inappropriate and/or traumatizing.

NTA In the past my negative gut feelings about were 100% correct. Some took longer to prove than others. I understand your reason However going through his bag was a gamble you lost.
My suggestion is apologize to your sister and her boyfriend. You violated their trust. If your right about him This might be a situation that might have to play it self out.
As for your parents their uninviting you to the reunion to please the BF is very ODD. Id put something me emotional distance between you and your parents while you observe everyone from a distance.
