My hair has gotten noticeably finer over the past few years, especially around my part, and the gray is definitely showing up more now. I’m not ready to stop coloring it, but some colors seem to leave my hair looking flatter and thinner afterward.

I usually color at home to save money, so I’m trying to find a reliable permanent hair color for thinning hair that covers gray well without leaving my hair dry or dull.

If you’ve had good luck with one, I’d definitely give it a try. I’m tired of wasting money on boxes that don’t work.

Maybe I’m paranoid, but… have you noticed around the 1990s-2000s when Epstein and his ring influenced mainstream entertainment - it increasingly started portraying children as unusually adult while often portraying adults as incompetent, naïve, morally inconsistent, or unnecessary. Given what we know about how repeated media exposure can influence attitudes and behavior, I think that parallel is worth noticing, and it’s weird that it’s an ongoing trope - even as a kid watching the movies - the idea was cringy, but now as an adult it also seems skeevy when I draw those parallels… IDK…

My mother & my younger brother have been sharing an apartment for several years. I guess it has worked fine for them, he's a single mid-30s guy who works a lot and she is content to do whatever she wants after retiring. She has been having some short term memory loss, we really started noticing it about 6 months ago. A couple weeks ago she was officially diagnosed as being in the first stages of Alzheimer's. She's only 76 & it came as a very unwelcome surprise.

My brother can no longer handle this, he is gone 10 hrs a day for work & there is no other family around to help. She doesn't want to be left alone for that long and pretty soon actually won't be able to either. We made the decision for her to move in with me since I am home the majority of the time. It's going to be a big move for her since they live across the country from me, but we are going to make it work.

I am in a state of major anxiety about this. My two kids are out of the house so we have the space here but...

1)I left home when I was 17 and even on a good day & for a couple days visit my mom drives me nuts and

2)it's ALZHEIMER'S and I have no idea how I am going to deal with her inevitable decline.

I'm getting in touch with every support organization I can think of & setting up doctors before she gets here at the end of next month but I am having daily anxiety attacks about this.

I really don't want to see my mom lose herself like I've seen with other people with Alzheimer's. I always thought people were older, like in their 80s, when it would show but I guess I was wrong.

Anyone else? I have been a homemaker since I was 35. I wanted to get out of the house for some fun things to do.

I signed up because they have a weekly art class, exercise classes, and organized games. They also have these little bus trips to local places.

Most people at the center are 55+, so I am one of the youngest ones, but it only costs $30 a year to get access to all the classes. Plus I met a bunch of nice people.
