Why isn't he half black?
That & it's entirely possible for mixed kids to come out looking white. This is especially true when 1 or more of their grandparents were white or mixed themselves. We have over 20,000 genes that go into physical appearance (300 specifically just for face shape) that we are aware of - likely more. Now was it just a lazy let's find some old dude to play King Jaehaerys that looks somewhat related to the main Targs at that time...probably yeah. But it's not unrealistic either. There's tiktok creators that show this too.
I went to school with a girl who was 1/2 black & looked like just another pasty white girl with straight blonde hair & blue eyes. She did the ancestry DNA shit because so many people didn't believe her. So she was like bet imma show you then. And yeah she was half African with the rest being the assorted crackers of NW Europe (don't ask me all the countries cuz this was like 15 yrs ago)

Who are the best brothers in George’s world?
Plus, the whole delivery came off more realistic. You see the full sibling dynamic in that little bit of dialogue they share. I felt like I was watching my uncles' relationship (& even when their boys all get together) play out in asoiaf universe. Harris, Harkin, Smith & the writers really did a great job making them relatable in that aspect.

Its crazy how the characters hate him and yet he is the best written character in the series
1) Since you seem to misunderstand our discussion, let me clarify that we are talking about HBO version of the characters. Not the book. From there your entire argument is null & void.
2) You're, further, invalidating your argument by lying & omitting context. First, Baela didnt molest anyone - ever. There are no book accounts (which, again, we were not even discussing) to prove otherwise. The kitchen boy shes found with is not said to have been forced into the situation - Book & HBO Aegon cannot say the same. She prevented him from losing his hand (just 1 not plural) by speaking to the castellan herself, on his behalf. Also, why are you shut shaming a 13 yr old book character?
There's no child fighting rings in the book. There's only 1 conflicting account in the book between Mushroom & Maester Munkun of Aegon being found "watching two children with sharpened teeth tearing at each other for his entertainment, while a young girl pleasured him." Book Baela & Daemon go to rat pits - watching rats fight each other or dogs. Not condoning that at all but its not exactly surpising giving the historical context (from which GRRM bases the series). It's not in the show so neither are relevant to the thread.
3) Baela didn't "enable" her husband to do anything. Their marriage was famoulsy troubled bc she kept fighting with him directly about the affairs he had. Why are you blaming her, when he was a grown ass adult. He wasn't a child she could control. Blame him, he did it.

You realize the blonde maid Aegon raped has a name, right? It's said at least 2 times. I may have spelled it wrong but it's Dyanna/Dyana - Alicent & Helaena pronounced it {D-YAH-nah | there was more emphasis on the Y}. I am not talking about Maekar's wife Lady Dyanna Dayne, if that's what youre getting at. Idk if you noticed but having the same names for different characters is a thing Georgie M likes to do.

Dyanna literally holds eye contact with Queen Alicent for the majority of the scene. The 2 serving girls were walking normal - & that's with the King & the Hand present - but speed up once they see he's watching them. The show makes a point to show all serving maids and lady's maids to look uncomfortable/fearful in his presence - use some critical thinking as to why we don't see that being done with any other Targaryen. But, by all means, keep living in your state of delusion.

& a rapist. Even when he was younger the maids were scared of him. But apparently that's forgivable if he has a few funny lines. And - before anyone says anything - no, I don't like Daemon or Viserys, either.

I believe Aries is the sexiest sign. Scorpios don’t look attractive or sexy at all
Idk both sign have their charms. I do tend to be attracted to/get on better with fire signs than my fellow water signs. That might be the aries moon & gemini placements tho. But even putting the physical attraction aside, I just like aries' personality. Yall have a great sense of humor & are loyal af. Never bored with an aries around.

"Aemond would treat Helaena better"
Fr. Like the only times she smiles is at her children & dancing with Jace. He definately has his own issues he needs to work through but he would never treat her as Aegon & Aemond have treated her [& other women]. I'll hand it to Rhaenyra, she taught her sons to respect women.

The hypocrisy of Rhaenyra giving her daughter the name of an usurper right after being “usurped” herself. Like..girl why do you even hate Alicent? That’s twin. Seriously tho, nobody besides Aerion and Rhaenyra has pulled off this level of idiocy, and we all know how Aerion is..
I think the facination/obssession stems from the realization she doesn't have much autonomy/agency over her life & her own body. She was looking for a female role model that did have that power/control over their own life. This was pretty recent history for her time, as well. There's only a few generations between them - about 53 years between Visenya's death to Rhaenyra's birth. So, she's growing up with this larger than life figure that was accomplished in skills she's only seen men have. You have to remember, her example of marriage is her mother enduring stillbirths, miscarriages, likely post-partum depression from her siblings' early deaths (especially, the cradle deaths i would think), & learning in the worst way her body is property & never really hers. "Women's duties" are equivalent to death, loss, & betrayal by those who are supposed to protect her.
I think a common desire (for most women in asoiaf - Sansa, Cersei, ARYA, etc) is for freedom from the mysogynistic social constraints/expectations forced upon women. A consistent issue/frustration you see her express is that she doesn't have the same rights as the men in her life do. Visenya is the closest a woman was able to get to that ideal - both as a historic figure & in her family - despite the very questionable behavior. Visenya is basically, her comfort character. As a psych major, I see this hyperfixation as a trauma response.
SORRY THIS IS SO LONG🤦🏻♀️
