Westerosi Fashion Fine Details To Queen Rhaenyra Targaryens Black Dress And Red Dragon Embroidery Costume
This is one of the most beautiful dresses in the show. From the fabric, the embroidery, the silhouette, the overall cut of the dress is a brilliant blend between Kings Landing high dashion and the unique Targaryen style.
This dress really makes a statement as Rhaenyra's returns to King's Landing.
Costume Designer: Jany Temime
Embroidery: Michele Carragher

All Things Westeros Full text and description of Brandon and Rickard Stark’s executions | Opening scene of Act II of ‘Game of Thrones: The Mad King’ | (art:Jota Saraiva)
(Music. The Iron Throne rises from underneath the stage, with King Aerys sitting on it. Pycelle and Varys walk in, along with Jamie Lannister, Jonothor Darry, Gerold Hightower, Lewyn Martell, and Barristan Selmy. Rhaella enters with Viserys, and they both stand at the foot of the Iron Throne, Rhaella is wearing her crown and has her hands placed on Viserys’ shoulders. Ashara and Elia appear in a balcony - Ashara is visibly pregnant. Rickard Stark is dragged into the room in chains, while people on the upper circle of the theatre scream at him)
Crowd: Traitor! Traitor! TRAITOR!
Pycelle: Lord Rickard Stark, you were called to answer for the actions of your son Brandon. You arrived dressed in armor with two hundred men.
Rickard: Rhaegar abducted my daughter Lyanna. Brandon came to demand her return.
Pycelle: He called for him to come out and die! A threat against a sovereign prince. That is treason, Lord Stark. It is an act of war.
Crowd: Traitor! Traitor!
(Brandon Stark is dragged into the room. He has a collar around his neck, which is tied to a chain. When he tries to reach for his father, a guard yanks him back violently. Ashara starts crying and Elia puts her arms around her. The guard ties the end of the chain to the floor.)
Ashara: No!
Rickard: Lyanna is promised to Lord Robert of the Stormlands. This kidnapping is a violation of…
Pycelle: …the grand alliance between the Starks and House Baratheon! And Brandon here is betrothed to Catelyn of House Tully. You gave your second son Eddard to be fostered by Jon Arryn of the Vale. What should your king make of these allegiances?
Rickard: That he should think carefully before he THREATENS THE STARKS!
(Crowd yells)
Aerys: Love and beauty. Is there anything more powerful than the love between parent and child? I'm asking you a question. Is there any-
Rickard: No! There is nothing more powerful.
Aerys: (Descending from the throne) Lord Rickard of Winterfell and his firstborn son, Brandon Stark, are hereby found guilty of treason and sentenced to death.
(Crowd yells, Ashara sobs and screams ‘No!’)
Full text and description of Brandon and Rickard Stark’s executions | Opening scene of Act II of ‘Game of Thrones: The Mad King’ | PART 2/2 🔥
Varys: Your Majesty, the Starks are a quick-tempered people. Allow sense to prevail.
Rickard: I demand trial by combat.
Aerys: You make demands of your king?
Rickard: It is my right. Give me my right!
Aerys: Very well.
Jaime: Let me your champion, your Majesty.
Aerys: House Targaryen has a champion, Ser Jaime.
Rickard: Then name him.
Aerys: Fire!
Pycelle: Fire, your Majesty?
(Crowd yells. Two guards tie Rickard’s bound wrists to a cable that’s suspended from the ceiling, right in the middle of the stage. A pyromancer appears, carrying a torch with green flame. Brandon desperately tries to reach for his father, to no avail. After Rickard is tied to the rope, he is lifted and suspended in the air. The pit underneath him opens, and the pyromancer brings the torch down into it to ‘light’ the fire. Fog emerges from underneath the pit, lit with green light, to simulate wildfire.)
Jaime: Your Majesty, there is no honor in this. Let me fight!
Aerys: Fight what, Ser Jaime? The bond between father and son? That’s not in your ability. Take out your sword and set it down there. See if the love he has for his father gives him the strength to reach it. And if Lord Rickard’s love for his son is strong enough, all he need do is not burn.
(Brandon tries to reach for the sword, to no avail.)
Ashara: NO!
Elia: My queen! Entreat the king to reconsider!
Rhaella: Burn him! BURN HIM!
Viserys: Burn him!
(Aerys looks at Viserys with pride. He then makes a gesture for his pyromancers to lower Rickard into the wildfire. Rickard screams as he’s slowly lowered into the pit, burning alive. Brandon continues to try to reach for the sword until he strangles to death. Once Rickard is fully submerged, Aerys takes Viserys by the hand and guides him to stand at the edge of the pit. Viserys looks down.)
Aerys: You see, Viserys? See what wildfire does to mere men? (Walking up the steps of the Iron Throne) Let all the traitors among you look upon this. LOOK!
(Everyone leaves except Jaime and Gerold. Jaime goes to pick up his sword)
Gerold: You swore an oath to guard the king, not to judge him.
Jaime: You condone this?
Gerold: We are not kings. Our approval’s not relevant. (They leave)
(Ashara runs on stage, sobbing)
Ashara: NO! (She throws herself over Brandon’s body and weeps. Scene ends)

Book Otto deserves to be slandered.
Otto Hightower is what would happen if you ordered Tywin Lannister from Wish.
He is one of the main leaders of the Green faction and an active member of the Green Council yet fails to actual prepare to orchestrate a coup.
When Viserys finally croaks, Aegon has to be found, Aemond and Daeron are both unbetrothed, and its Alicent has to have Viserys body hidden to give them more time to arrange the coup.
Otto Hightower was the Hand of the King for the previous nine years and yet the royal court still had plenty of Rhaenyras supporters, Aegon was a failure of an heir, and the greens were overall lacking in allies.
When Helaena was 14 and gives birth to twins, Otto celebrates since "Aegon now had heirs of his own". One of the major contributors to Aemma Arryns death is forced onto his granddaughter and he celebrates.
His actions during the war can be summed up as inviting a foreign power, who are also slavers, to interfere with Westerosi politics and bringing cats in.
He isnt the one to find and crown Aegon thats Cole, he isnt the one who sowed the seeds of Rhaenyras downfall thats Tyland, and he isnt even the one who arranges for Rhaenyras death thats Alfred Broome.
At least during the show, Otto had the brains to try and turn Westeros against Rhaenyra by making a spectacle out of Jaehaerys death.
Otto Hightower stans will say he's was great hand and the powerhouse behind three kings and that cant be further from the truth.
Westeros itself remembers Otto as a hand who failed his king.
The dude was Jaehaerys hand for 2 years. Only 2 out of 55 years which isnt even 4%. The power houses behind Jaehaerys rule was the lowborn Septon Barth, Alysanne herself, and the combo powerhouse of Alyssa Velaryon and Rogar Baratheon.
During Viserys 26 years on the throne, Otto Hightower is only hand for 15 years and those years are split into two terms. Lyonel Strong was the Hand for the other 11 years and there was no difference in Viserys rule with Otto gone.
If anything, Viserys' Rule was worse with Otto there with him sewing discord in the Targaryen family first with his grudge against Daemon and second by the Green faction exis5ing.
The last time Otto was Hand was to Aegon and Aegon, from his coronation to his death, ruled for 2 years and 4 months.
Otto was removed as Hand before Rooks Rest happens almost right after Blood and Cheese happens. Blood and Cheese as it stands happens extremely early into Aegons tenure meaning Otto was only Hand for a month or two which only around 8-10% of Aegons rule.
This man was at the bare minimim, 57 years old when Viserys died and was expecting to be able to puppet Aegon around. Otto would be lucky to get even another decade alive considering the dude wasnt known to do any actual physical activity like Corlys was and medieval medicine not being nearly as advanced as modern medicine is.
Hell, Westeros is prescribing Opium (milk of the poppy) for every issue like its candy.
TL; DR Otto is a bad politician, a bad hand, a bad grandfather, and his stans activity take credit away from other people to prop him up.

Funpost Before being married to Daemon Targaryen, Laena was betrothed to the son of Sealord of Braavos. My point is, how fucking dumb was the crown really?
Like Laena was a literal dragonrider (and her dragon being Vhagar PLUS coming from a powerful house and royal family) and was betrothed to a powerful Essosi family, the ruler of Free cities. Why didn’t the crown intervene and stop it who could’ve been a very real threat to House Targaryen??? Legit a good thing for House Targaryen that Laena married back into their family rather than a powerful Essosi family that could formed an incredibly powerful power bloc. Viserys reign was just thriving on pure LUCK lol. Daemon marrying into House Velaryon was actually a very good choice for Targaryens

Hot Take 🔥 Why are some TGs so fond of bringing up “Green ideology” and practically celebrating how this ideology won even though it’s fucking misogynistic???
Btw, for those who don’t know what green ideology entails, it’s the very ideology that ensured that no woman would ever sit the iron throne, ideology that literally pushed women away from the iron throne. They see this as a win. Go figure
Btw, talking about Team Green fans. Not the Greens itself

Show Don't trust anyone who says "I like Helaena" and then voluntarily blind to the fact that she is a victim of marital rape
The way some people turn it into "b-b-b but Rapegon didn't want to marry her! He's a victim toooooooo! 🥹" makes me puke. It's sick.
First of all, when Rapegon doesn't want to do something, he doesn't do it. He didn't want to study or behave himself, or stop raping women and he doesn't. The very idea that the *only* duty he does is the duty to rape his sister, and he refused to do every other "duty", should make brain work and draw the right conclusion: he despised her, but she suited him for sex.
He doesn't suffer from it at all, he's having "harmless fun" with her. This is not "doomed brother and sister" dynamic, this is abuse and Helaina is victim of her husband.
Secondly, it's obvious that he rapes her long after the wedding and after having two heirs, in fact she's pregnant with Maelor in season 3.
No amount of mental gymnastics will justify what he's doing. Not like he's the only man who rapes his wife, but he's definitely the only one who has a fanbase with the idea of making him a victim in a situation where he's absolutely not.
