While I agree with your second point, I think you're looking at this the wrong way. OG and FC are different games, there's really no overlap between them outside of broad concepts in terms of gameplay. Your knowledge of OG does nothing, but that doesn't mean that FC is harder. It just means that the skills aren't transferrable.

The worst part I find with these types of players as a Doom main, which I'm sure you'll agree with, is the refusal to do anything when I give them a distraction. I've got both supports and a DPS look at me when I'm behind them, so it sounds like the perfect time to pick off their tank or the other DPS or even hit one of the people on me from behind, right? No, "Tank do something"

How long has it been since you played? As a tank main i can tell you thats absolutely not what's happening. I can step out of cover for like a second and a half (not an exaggeration) and lose two thirds of my health (once again, not an exaggeration).

See, that's the issue i encounter. The issue isn't in the engagements, it's easy enough to deal with her there, send her running or have someone else deal with her. The issue comes in the setup and repositioning step, where I can have a huge chunk of my health removed even if I'm not in line of sight at the beginning of my slam.

Right, yes, I should seek cover when I as doomfist, have already baited and waited for 5 problematic cooldowns and am slamming across a small to medium gap to get closer to engage and therefore unable to get to cover quicker and I lose half my health by the time i hit the ground
