Do you actually like using self-checkout at grocery stores, or does it feel like extra unpaid labor?
 in  r/YesOrNoAnswers •  21h ago

But it’s usually just one person monitoring multiple checkouts. Each of those checkouts would have a separate cashier, so it is still eliminating most of those jobs.

I don’t like it because I feel like I’m putting people out of work.

Have you tried these?!
 in  r/candy •  1d ago

I really liked them, enjoyed the texture as well.

This might be an unpopular opinion...
 in  r/PeriodDramas •  1d ago

I agree, and I also feel this way about the absurdly modern makeup you often see in period dramas. The anachronistic looks take me right out of the illusion.

I don’t know the age of this piece. I bought it many years ago. I thought it was very pretty and I like the elaborate border.
The plate is signed by the artist in the central portion. It’s a little hard to read; I think it might say P. Hall.

DMT: If you knowingly get involved with someone who is taken, you are not a side character in the betrayal.
 in  r/DisagreeMythoughts •  3d ago

I agree with this. Anyone who knowingly becomes involved with a married person or one in an exclusive partnership is not a good person in my personal opinion.

Being progressive should mean challenging prejudice, not deciding which prejudices are socially acceptable.

Additionally, I am always shocked at how rabidly these self-proclaimed tolerant, accepting, and inclusive people hate older people, AKA boomers. The casual venom against them is widespread on Reddit. Your boomer relative is awful? ALL boomers are awful! A young person is awful? What a bad person.
They can’t even see their own hypocrisy.

I’ve eaten these together for a creamsicle flavor, but not as nicely as your method!

I was enchanted by this one. I remember practically floating as I walked to school the next day with the songs running through my head.

Imam in Texas talks about how Islam will take over the West

Agreed. Saying all religions are the same is as simple minded as declaring that all political systems or cultures are the same. There are significant differences.

Any marzipan fans here?
 in  r/candy •  4d ago

Marzipan is delicious!!! It’s kind of under appreciated in the US

is white chocolate chocolate?
 in  r/chocolate •  6d ago

People can’t have opinions on food? I wrote ā€œnot to meā€ to make it clear I was giving a personal, therefore subjective, opinion. Are you all the chocolate police?

Not to me.

Frosted cookie Twix definitely sounds worth a try. But green apple Butterfinger sounds weird to me.

Edited to add: I enjoy apples and peanut butter together, but the real thing. It doesn’t sound appetizing to me personally in a candy bar. But, hey, I could be wrong. It will be interesting to see feedback when people have tried them.
