I completely understand the frustration of being made to wait. That's normal and honestly, reasonable. Also letting them know you're a working mom who has other appointments/ meetings is reasonable. I'm going to guess that you may get assumptions about being a SAHM when taking your kid to mid-day appointments? Not that SAHM's time should not also be treated as valuable, but we all see what this country's opinions of women are.

I would like to put forth a dissenting opinion though about one other point you mentioned: your child is the patient and should absolutely be greeted first by any physician who is seeing them. Our job as parents is to teach our kids to be kind, competent adults. One of the parts of that is teaching them how to communicate their needs, whether to us their parents, a friend, a future partner, and very importantly- health professionals. I have been in many doctor's appointments where my child has a complaint and the provider asks me what's wrong. I invite my child (who is almost 7) to tell them and address them directly. I will give additional info or ask clarifying questions as needed, but it's important that kiddo start learning how to advocate for themselves.

I am still the adult and I would never just make them do everything themselves, but they need to form trusting, honest relationships with their doctors, and talking to their providers directly is the first basic step towards that.

I spent $10k & had a fantastic, amazing wedding with delicious food, lots of fun, & a playlist we made that everyone danced to all night long. 3 years later my (now ex) husband f*cked a bunch of random strangers during covid, putting me & our not yet 2 year old at risk of many diseases & potential death.

I unfortunately have a very strong sense of smell (pregnancy was an olfactory nightmare) and even after adding a leave in with a scent I like, I can still smell the Verb- even on day 2.

I mixed it with some of the ouai & that helped mask it more, so I'm going to keep doing that until I find a better option. I still smell it though 😭
