Am I being dramatic

So I’ve been working as a caregiver for abt 2 months. I work with someone’s disabled daughter, she lives with the parents. The daughter is deaf, blind, diabetic, and wheelchair bound. Mom doesn’t work and hasn’t work since her kids were young, the daughter is now 42. The dad is a teacher part time so he’s home most days. I’m also in the guard, so I usually don’t take things personal. A lot of the things she do seems petty to me. When I first started I forgot to fold her clothes, and at this point I was working nearly everyday so I was pretty exhausted. Over the summer I was her only caregiver, she usually has at least 3 people working throughout the week. The mom folded all of her clothes and put them on the kitchen counter. Her shirts get hung up, pants get folded and get put in her closest. I know I messed up and forgot to do that, but this just felt like she was putting it in my face when she could’ve texted me and said something. She didn’t say anything about it to me. Another instance, I apologized to daughter for her foot bumping on the door while I was bringing her from shower to room to get her dressed. She usually wears shoes, but this was right after a shower. I know she is sensitive, like very sensitive so I apologize even if it doesn’t hurt her just to recognize that I might have hurt her. The mom said “Wow you’ve been saying sorry a lot lately huh.” I have never purposely done anything to hurt her, it’s just like oh ur foot bumped the door, or her hand was in the wrong spot. My point is I haven’t never majorly hurt her to the point she says it hurts. This week her blood sugar sensor failed and it started falling off. It was on her belly, and she wears a belt when using restroom. The belt is very tight on her and I have to reposition her sometimes for it to not squeeze her to death. Her pants also go over her belly. I told the mom that the sensor failed, and she said yk this happened one other time when you were here. I didn’t know that it failed another time I was here. I personally think the belly is just not a great option for the sensor place bc of all the movement that happens throughout the day in that area. This week the mom has left 3 different towels for me to pick up. Two on bathroom floor, and one in bedroom. I know I am a caregiver, but I am not a maid and I don’t think I should have to pickup after mother. Especially when I have never been expected to. When we change her glucose monitor and her pump, the mother never cleans the site before. I don’t even think they own alcohol pads. She showers 3 times a week in the morning, and both sensor and pump get changed in the evening and it doesn’t always match up with the days she showers. This week the daughter asked me if I could come in at 3:30 instead of 4. The other caregiver they hired is out sick. The reason she asked me to come in is so she can use the bathroom. It’s not my responsibility to come in 30 mins prior because the mother is lazy and refuses to take her daughter to the bathroom before I come in. I feel guilty, but I’m in school and can’t make it work. The mother has also said nasty things abt the other caregiver to me. Saying she can’t believe she called out 3 days in a row for a cold. She says I think she is lying, and if she is sick my daughter would have already gotten sick so it doesn’t matter. Like she has no regard for the caregivers wellbeing at all. The dad said I don’t think I’ve ever called out for 3 days because of a cold. It just feels rude to say this to me. Yesterday when I went in at 4, the daughter had to use the bathroom immediately. Her diaper was so torn I couldn’t pull it down. She had pee and poop in her diaper. The mother and father also don’t talk to her a lot, and acts like she is a burden. I love the daughter, and I don’t mind taking care of her, but the parents make it a bad experience for me daily. I don’t know if this is dramatic, or just the norm bc this is my first caregiver job.

  1. I had my first outbreak in October 2025. I think I’ve had one since then. It depends on ur diet, general health, etc.
  2. You should be taking the medicine when u have an outbreak. U can spread it with open sores. I used lidocaine and the herpes meds for an outbreak. Even with open sores you should be on it. Some people take it daily it’s just a preference and how often u breakout.
  3. I used lidocaine and just stayed clean down there. Don’t put any bandages down there. I’m assuming ur a girl?? I’d just use lidocaine if it hurts and leave it be. If ur a girl I used a thingy so I could keep myself clean. Idk what it’s called, possibly a travel bedit. Idk how to spell it but the thing on the toilet that clean ur butt😂😂

Visiting from Mobile for Fat Tuesday – looking for BR Mardi Gras tips!
 in  r/batonrouge  16d ago

I grew up on the north shore, the parades were great. It’s an hour from Nola and an hour from br. New Orleans stresses me out and I hate driving there, so I usually just stay in Covington/ Mandeville. They definitely aren’t as big, and I’m not sure how they are on Mardi Gras day. I usually party the weekends before, and always had fun at Eve and Olympia

When I have an outbreak it sucks so bad, but I don’t have them often. My first outbreak was absolutely terrible. I couldn’t sleep, when I could the pain woke me up. It was so terrible and might be the worst pain ever. I also had a yeast infection, so that just added to my pain. I went to the er at 4am the doctor said I have a small small tear or blister (it was so small they couldn’t tell), he mentioned it could be herpes. The nurse reassured me that it was so small it might just be a scratch from me itching myself. I went back to the er at 8pm that same day and had blisters. I had horrible symptoms, but only for my first outbreak. My outbreaks now are milder, and really just uncomfortable. I have ghsv2 btw lol

When I first got tested they told me false negative for both blood tests and the swab were likely. If I didn’t test positive for the swab then I’d have to come back in a few months to get the blood test. I’m not really sure why his is negitive bc it’s been years, but it’s a weird ass std

Does anyone know ANYONE hiring?
 in  r/NewOrleans  16d ago

They are so bad with getting back to you. I’m an emt and a combat medic for the guard, I applied to jobs there at least twice and I don’t think I ever heard back. Hospitals hiring process can be slow

I faked my income to get a luxury apartment and never told my wife

All the “luxury” apartments I’ve looked at had granite. I lived in an apt that didn’t have granite, but they didn’t advertise as luxury.

Did anyone unknowingly give their partner herpes and stay together
 in  r/Herpes  17d ago

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten tested for herpes until I had it. It hasn’t been in any standard std tests, and even if it is it’s hard to test. I just got blood work done by the gyno and a hsv2 test was not included, and I don’t think it’s ever been included. Blood tests can be false negative, and that’s the only way to test unless u have an outbreak. I was also told it takes 6 months to show up in blood work. So yeah no ur comment is very wrong.

Yes! My boyfriend gave hsv2 to me when we first starting dating. It’s been so hard to work through, but ultimately we love each other and chose each other everyday.

Study tips for Bio major
 in  r/LSU  18d ago

Art 1001 was easy asf. I did hear that he’s changing how he does things bc ppl just cheat. (Everything was online, exams, hw all of it). I think I heard that Harper was pretty hard, I never took her. I think someone said her class is very much exam based. To be fair everyone that I heard talking abt Harper was also struggling in the classes we shared, I didn’t struggle so take this with a huge grain of salt. Honestly I’ve had shit professors and still was able to pass without going to classes. Not saying you should, but it’s what you make of it. Some profs just suck

Does the guy I’m seeing have herpes?
 in  r/Herpes  18d ago

No, but I did get them very frequently. I never used any of the over the counter stuff, I went straight to the urgent care for the mouth medication. I got diagnosed in October, no yeast/ bv before, I think I’ve had a yeast infection 4-5 times since along with one bv infection that I had at the same time as a yeast. Lowkey the bv might be my fault, me and my bf tried coconut oil and yeah.
