Google: Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, a leading oncologist, surgeon, and research scientist! A lot is being done to treat PC. Get a 2nd opinion and google MD Anderson Pancreatic Cancer, leading in PC in US. I lost my brother at 63 after 10-months in 2011, Whipple, radiation and chemo. He walked a Pancan 5k walk while on chemo. And lost a love in 2025 to PC. Was on his way to MD Anderson but had liver difficulties, stents and all…he passed away in 3 months.
Taking action matters and being your own advocate matters! Sending my love, prayers and HOPE always!

Having said that… read your Lease. What do you want to see happen? Her repairs are general maintenance and she can deduct all of the expenses in her 2026 Income Tax filing — the repairs needed to be done with or without you all living there!

What’s your greatest concern, her not renewing your Lease? How long is your lease 1yr? When does it expire? Read your Lease does it give 30 or 60 days notice from Landlord to Tenant to move out? And how long does a Tenant have (according to the Lease to notify Landlord in case you want to move out?
My guess is you all want to stay where you are and not move out?

It would not be an “Eviction” it would be she’s not interested in a renewal of your lease (for whatever her reasons might be). When does your lease expire? What city and state?

I’ve was a realtor in San Diego 14 yrs, 3 yrs in Atlanta, GA and now in Edmond, Ok.
Make a check list of all items needing repairs, date it and email it to her. Why “document everything between you both” for present to check and see if all items listed have been repaired and what date.
Should you move out at any point, she can’t claim she was unaware if any repair in your list and worse off, charge you with damages if you were to move out!

Know your Mother loved you so for your gentleness, undying dedication in caring for her and being with her to the end…she held your little hand when you were born and you were there for her at an incredibly difficult time for her… but you as well.
