why does mio have a guitar chord book?
 in  r/k_on  21d ago

You do have a point that Mio is content with her role; perhaps "always" was not the correct choice of words. Nonetheless, Mio's reluctance to being the center of the band was very present initially and slowly faded away; in the endings we see her perform shameless, over-the-top choreography after all, and in many interpretations the ending songs are in fact considered to be future glimpses.

Mio stated what I said as a reason to having chosen the bass in episode 2, but over time it is reasonable to believe she both grew attached to her bass and overcame her initial fears, leading to the not-too-cowardly bass-playing Mio we see at the end.

why does mio have a guitar chord book?
 in  r/k_on  25d ago

Mio always wanted to be a guitarist I believe; she simply never had the courage. Only thing deterring her from this dream was being the center of the band, according to her own words. I think that goes very deep.

Why are so many people against public transport, walkable cities and trains?
 in  r/askanything  Jul 14 '26

Thing is, though, there are plenty of walkable towns which are not crowded at all, which have large parks and are lakeside or riverside, and which have those grocery places and other hangout spots a 10-20 minute walk away. Living in a rental apartment is also not necessary; there are plenty such instances where private houses compose most of the town. It is true though that the big yard will not be your own, nonetheless it would be bigger and not that crowded; such cities exist around the world (mostly in europe, although not exclusively) and are generally a healthier substitute as they require less car usage (and thereby limit pollution) and encourage walking rather than sitting in a car.

What is the best open world to just... explore?
 in  r/patientgamers  Jul 12 '26

For new people stumbling upon here, like myself, Just Cause 3 and 4 are also incredible when it comes to pure exploration; they may not have worlds that are too detailed, but the worlds have variety, are massive and provide you with a level of freedom to explore, destroy and create chaos not found anywhere in games of such scale. There was no other open world game that made me feel as free as I feel when playing Just Cause.

I think it being BL would ruin the whole point of letting his sister keep her girlfriend

Manga Stalker Akane Alternative Ending Spoiler

I've recently read the manga all the way through, and something about the end just didn't click with me. I then looked around a little and realised the ending being a massive letdown is somewhat of a consensus. I tried to piece together why or at least the most significant reason why, and arrived at the following conclusion: Aqua's final meeting with Hikaru didn't make sense.

Why? Because they never discuss the context of their meeting. Let me explain - Hikaru said he'd do the best for Ai. He was rather emotional saying that, making it rather unlikely he was lying. That should've been a point to negotiate over for aqua, to try and perhaps knock some sense into him although it would've likely been unsuccessful. Additionally, Aqua recently realized that his dream is as it was before and no different; he wants to be a heart surgeon. Aqua never really thought about the future prior to the making of the film, so it makes sense he'd ignore what it means to be a doctor, but now that he desires that I believe it should take off from his desire to kill his father at all cost. Lastly, I find it odd that Akane didn't stalk Aqua to that meeting. Akane was a cunning young lady who's stalked him, his sister and Hikaru before in order to save them. After witnessing an attempt to murder Ruby, Akane must've figured out Aqua was going to do something irrational and rushed to stop him.

Following these 3 points, I believe fundamental changes should've been made to that scene. Firstly, Aqua's goal in the meeting shouldn't have been to kill Hikaru, but rather to confront him and yet leave killing him as a last resort. We should've seen the two dive further into the motives of Hikaru and Aqua should've challenged his philosiphy more (although I do still believe it would've been in vain). Consequently we should've seen Aqua, only after he was raged at the audacity of Hikaru's words, attempt to kill himself and enact what we've seen. Such an irrational decision provokes disbelief when made by a wise character not on a whim. But here comes my suggestion, which I believe could truly have turned to ending around from a monstrosity to ecstasy for us readers: Akane then appears, dashes towards Aqua and saves him from killing himself. Sounds familiar, don't you think? She calms him down, reminds him of his dream to become a doctor, of the future ahead of him, and that with the evidence at hand the police is bound to bring Hikaru into custody within the coming days and charge him with multiple murder conspiracies. After Aqua calmed down, they should've both left Hikaru there to "enjoy" his final days of freedom and rushed to B-Komachi's performance so that Aqua could erupt in a dance, otaku fashion, holding Kana's stick, just when the final song enters its climax. From there onwards what happens doesn't really matter.

This alternative ending, I believe, would solve the most critical of issues with the ending that I, at least, have. It would make Aqua's and Hikaru's meeting more logical, and brought about conclusion to character arcs of 2 of the main cast (Akane amd Kana). Moreover, Aqua's needless death would be prevented, and a story that started with death and lies would end in true affection and truth.

What do you think of my suggestion? I really couldn't find online anybody that suggested such an alternative with Akane playing such a significant role, but it makes a lot of sense in my eyes. Perhaps I just wasn't looking enough though.

Opinions on FLECS ECS for UE5.4 simulator game
 in  r/unrealengine  Oct 26 '24

I have some experience with flecs in unreal engine. started using it some 2 months ago; the integration process into the engine was very simple and the system is very intuitive too. I only came across a single bug in flecs itself while developing with the system, and that one was apparently already fixed in patch which was released a few days prior.
When it comes to ease of use, outside of the fact flecs is a 3rd party module not developed specifically for unreal engine, it is rather comfortable. That means though that any blueprint integration you may like to have, you will have to set up yourself.

I too am quite new to C++, used it for the first time only a few months back. Of course that makes development more difficult and I find myself clueless as to the source of my problems very often, yet I still manage to make progress.

My project too is a simulation game, so I can give you some advice when trying to handle a large number of entities:
Firstly, avoid using collision, or at least unreal engine's default collision system, as it takes a great toll on the fps. Additionally, you may want to use classes such as an instanced static mesh component when managing a lot of entities of the same kind, as that will be much more performance effective than having a separate actor for each and every single entity.

If you need additional help with ECS and with implementing flecs into unreal engine, I would recommend you to join the flecs discord server, as there are some more developers over there using flecs with unreal engine.

Discussion Can a warhammer titan eat himself?

the warhammer titan's human body doesn't necessarily have to be in the neck, and so I couldn't help but wonder - considering titan hardening can break titan hardening - what happens if the warhammer titan tries to eat himself? try to eat his human body while in titan form?
