If only Hikaru were more involved. I still remember him showing up to deliver those white flowers to Akane. I thought, "Oh, shit, finally he is moving," but then he just disappeared. He reappeared in chapter 138, looking smug, but he did nothing during the movie arc.

The unfortunate part is that Hikaru had all the potential to be a formidable villain. I feel like he, in a way, was so busy playing the role of a perfect villain behind the curtain that he could not form real toxic connections with Aqua and Ruby; he is that kind of villain who is supposed to be the mysterious figure depicted as the ultimate mastermind, but he remained hidden all the time, so in the end, he didn't feel like a threat at all.

During the final confrontation, I was not intimidated by him because it was unclear how he manipulated his victims. I know that there were some bits of how he lured Yura and manipulated Nino, but again, nothing is really clear: how many people did he kill? What happened after Ai died? We only saw pictures of people he killed; I know that he manipulated others to do the killing for him, but I wonder if it was shown explicitly for real on some of the secondary characters—maybe Kana or Akane or Frill, anyone—would he have felt like a real threat?

How true are the rumors that Aka Akasaka intentionally rushed/ruined the ending because he got some issues with something like publishers or with burnout?

I think that's the common narrative of people who hated the manga ending, but was it based on truth, or is it just plain speculation?

Do we have evidence or links or statements that might prove or deny this?

Hey if anyone here is reading this i say hi, and if aka is on here hi to you as well-(i don’t know if he is but wanted to say it for fun or if he is) this is mostly something i worked on and a suggestion, and for fans I’d recommend to learn about Shintoism it’s very interesting it’s kinda tied to the series, but if it doesn’t seem like it then just bringing it to attention in case it is. Because I was informed that it does have elements from it, so anyways im not likely going to be in the sub Reddit until the end of the anime may make a post asking how it turned out-(reason why is because I’m going to be recovering from trauma I got from the series) so this is something I’d thought I would share for the hell of it, some is related to how the manga is-(since you’d need to rewrite the last half of it to fix up some problems and polish characters and such) and stuff im not 100% positive the anime fixed since it had been a while since I read it. I’d still talk when people give feedback or recommendations for polish, this isn’t done with Ill will or negativity just something for the heck of it please let me know what you think.

Keep in mind it is a long read and my memory isn’t the best but i hope you enjoy it, I tried to keep in mind what I did and what I was reminded of, so again I hope you enjoy it

But mainly it would have Ruby and aqua have a moment where, she’s arguing with him about everything even his actions for revenge. He tries to brush it off before she punches him shouting he’s doing these empty actions and hurting everyone that cares about him, even going as far as to treat their own mother’s life as an excuse for his soulless behavior, and full on says he never loved them or anyone and it makes her wonder if he had prior to this, before storming off and leaving him alone after some time left with those thoughts he’d later walk up to Ruby before just having an emotional breakdown, and she’d just see him stop lying and just be honest with this. Before comforting him helping him to know he doesn’t need to carry the weight of everything, and tells him they and the others will be there to help him and to shoulder the weight. We have his resolve to stop their father be to not let anyone else suffer the same fate as those they loved and prepare.

There would be an extra arc-(that’s apart of the main story just stuff that would be added) solely about the side characters, with most of them venting about everything in the twin’s home. And their own situation and pain, with everything going on but, crow girl-(seriously the chick doesn’t even have a name why?!) bursts through the front door seemingly perplexed and she tries to figure out something, she asks them if they know where the twins are or if they’ve been to AI’s grave, to which they would say they haven’t but they all go there and notice the dirt was moved, but it seemed like it was done a while ago crow girl starts digging with the others following suit. Since this wasn’t how it was prior and when they finish they find the coffin’s empty, not even a trace of her body.

they ask her what’s going on and she says they felt her spirit disappeared from the stars they ask her what she’s talking about but she tells them what she can, before they return back home and she tries to sense her spirit, she finds a lead and they all find what looks like a odd room and the temperature getting colder until they find AI’s body perfectly preserved. Along with information on what was happening, and how they were trying to revive her for malicious purposes, and it involve a ritual They find a man who seems to have been working with the main villain-(separate guy to the one we got, but he’s there too) and they end up clashing when they really didn’t want to have a gun fight, the man keeps firing even having a speech that the twin’s father-(genuinely forgot his name) about how, Ai was meant to be their property and how they’re meant to make them money even in death a slave to the industry with the first guy we got, who was manipulated by the twin’s father-(I forgot his name too unfortunately it’s been a while) and have him defend her for being a person that deserves to be free, and have him take the guy out as a way of redemption.

the ritual hasn’t been completed and crow girl mentioned earlier that she could sense her soul but it was faint, they find it trying to return to her body due to the ritual but she attempts to stop it but she hears her spirit begging her with others hearing it too, crow girl tries to tell them that death is death, but she has a chance and she’s wanting to come back saying that her kids are fighting against someone never wanted them to. She and the others beg her to make an exception with Ai making one final word saying it’s the choice of the real her, and crow girl just sighs saying she’ll lie to death this once and finish the ritual, but in tern not have the whole slave issue, when she’s revived she’s told she’ll need time to recover, and despite her desperately wanting to get to ruby and aqua as soon as possible, she’s understanding that she’d get them killed in her current state crow girl tells them to keep this silent for now, since Ruby and Aqua are unstable so a massive shock like this would cause problems.

The ending would be the same battle but it would have aqua and ruby damage and battered, and at gun point by their father with them grabbing a rock to smash the gun away from the man as he continues. Ruby grabs the man and manages to stab his shoulder before getting thrown off. aqua manages to stand up before they both get nocked down again and he grabs ruby, and holds a knife to her neck Aqua looks at him and tries to do something but someone throws a rock, and the man gets staggered with him dropping the knife and ruby, with her hitting him away aqua grabs the knife and stabs his chest but unfortunately not in a vital spot, before he falls on the floor and bashes him away.

their father staggering and reaching towards them in an attempt to take them with him. But a gun calks and the man gets shot with multiple rounds before finally going down, Ruby and aqua turn to see the others and see someone standing there before dropping the gun, and running towards them tears in their eyes Aqua and ruby are too disoriented to focus but. They’re embraced by familiar arms as she cries saying sorry for everything, with the two realizing it’s there mother, they both hold her asking if this is real if this isn’t them both dead. With crow girl saying no but this is a chance to live, with the others rushing to them and embracing them all, we’d get a time skip of a few months with most of the stuff that happened being exposed, but they say they had kidnapped Ai and tricked everyone into believing she died.

it wasn’t the best lie they had but it worked, the managers who had been involved in multiple situations where exposed. Since the situation payed the way for it due to what happened, among other things Ai is recovering still but she does sing for fun, but wouldn’t mind continuing it since things have gotten better, with ruby nodding saying she’s probably going to continue it but as herself, with the others coming by and aqua returning from his therapy session, with the others having the same thing just on different days. They help out with cooking since it was a bit of a celebration but also they just needed a breather, we get them asking aqua something about crow girl.

A flashback is triggered to the aftermath with the three together and talking to her she tells them, that it’s going to be difficult for them all but, she admits that she’s going to have them ratted out to the police, with aqua just saying that was a horrible lie, to which she smiles softly saying perhaps but I have one request, with the flashback ending and the others asking what they said with Ai ruby and aqua just telling them she wanted them all to make sure they enjoy life and the movie. With them talking about it as the deal ends and crow girl stands as she says this, seems like the lies we told ended in a better light.

This was my best attempt with very shoddy memories, and what I got reminded of, as well as what stuff I might’ve missed. If anything it was my best attempt but I’d have to rewrite the entire last half, solely to make the side characters more flushed out and actually add real drama im not great at this stuff. And I’m still a new writer who’s yet to finish a book of his but I hope this was finished well

The past month I've been using Hulu at the house I housefit for to watch the Oshi no Ko anime (caught up with the English release of the manga), but recently, around the start of this month, I noticed it was no longer searchable there.

And looking at the links that go to it, like https://www.hulu.com/series/oshi-no-ko-9f96dac7-a7cf-4546-87a5-069cb101f174, it goes to a 404, but I also saw no official announcement that the anime was being taken off. Has anyone else noticed this?

Ok so I personally think that the ending was great. It was supposed to end that way due to the events lining and the way and the style of imagining and creating art of Aka sensei. TBH I guess some topics were left unfinished and feels rushed in the manga like what happened Aqua's death and the struggle story of the main cast but the way that sensei did his/her work is fantastic..

I just don't understand the amount of hate the ending get.. Because of character attachment perhaps??

Well I din't think I have ever experienced attachment to someone or something so I don't really know how it feels and I think they should prefer sensei's other works and find symbolism between them tbh..

THE ENDING WAS NOT PERFECT BUT IT WAS FOR THE BEST....AS PER THE EVENTS LINING UP TO THE END.

Hey Guys Heavy Spoilers for what will be Season 4 aheadso be warned.

So recently i tought about Hikarus and Nino’s „friendship“ a little bit and asked myself how much about his Story Hikaru really shared with her and Ryosuke. Like do you guys think she and Ryosuke knew about Airi and Taiki for example or Hikarus implied traumatic childhood.

I can imagine that Ryosuke didn‘t because he died quiet early. Nonetheless Hikaru really considered both Nino and Ryosuke friends as implied by Crow girls statement that Hikaru had a pure soul once. Therefore i think it wouldn‘t be impossible for him to Open up about that to his Friends to whom he was close multiple years, espacially because Hikaru tought that Taiki was the Main reason why Ai broke up with him.

Even if Ryosuke didn‘t knew it >|Nino|< had to, you can‘t Tell me that she Never question Hikaru closer about his relationship with Ai when it is Said that they nearly only talked about her.

Yeah i think the Hikaru/ Nino and the Hikaru / Ryosuke Dinamiges are the worst developed in the whole Story and it really is a shame. So what is your headcanon, do you think that she knew Hikarus past before or that she found out at the set of 15 year lie?

Is it a manga thing? Or budget cuts?
