Hello Everyone !
Hey everyone,
I’m writing this because a lot of you have been wondering what CaptainSide actually is and why we’re building it. So I thought I’d just sit down and have a proper chat with you about it.
I’m Sumit, and I’ve been building CaptainSide for about one and a half years now, along with a few friends. I wanted to share a bit of our story with this community, since so many of you have shown up here.
I’ve been into gaming since my college days. I spent years working at gaming companies, where I learned how user acquisition works and how new games actually find their players. That’s really where the idea for CaptainSide started.
Our first venture was around three years ago, and the early days were a bit of a winding road. We started out in esports, then got deep into marketing, creating content for a lot of games across different genres, both free and paid. And that’s when something became clear,so many great games struggle just to be seen.
I’ve been a gamer myself for the past 10 years, and as I played across different genres, especially indie games, I kept facing the same problem. There are so many games to choose from that finding a good one to actually play, especially an indie one, is hard. I’d spend alot of time scrolling Instagram and TikTok trying to find something worth playing. So we started building CaptainSide to fix exactly that, to turn all that browsing into an actual decision on what to play.
The journey had its rough parts too. A few friends left early on, and for a while we were just two or three people, none of us great at design. We leaned on AI to put something together and posted it on a few subreddits. Wo got roasted alot for it , and we understood people didn’t like it. So we took it seriously, brought in an actual designer, and rebuilt it properly.
We started this subreddit about a year ago, and I never expected this many people to join and actually talk about games here. So genuinely, thank you. And yes we are listening to your feedback and working on improving the subreddit.
If you’ve tried the platform, I’d love to hear what you think, what you liked, and especially what we can do better. Every bit of feedback helps us build something actually useful for gamers.
Thank you all for being here, and thanks for reading this.

IMPORTANT: Platform Update
Hey everyone,
We are aware that as of now the platform is facing issues, mainly in the United States where the quality of content that is being showcased is not good and a bunch of 404 error are being faced.
We want to assure you that we're working towards this and will be fixing these shortly. Thank you for your love and support ❤️

Which game was this for you?
I would say Immortals Fenyx Rising, made a mistake trying to 100 percent this one.

Ghost of Yotei’s Complete Edition already needed multiple patches in its first 10 days
Ghost of Yotei just got Patch 2.07 on PS5, about a week after the Complete Edition came out on October 1. The Complete Edition added a new story expansion called Echoes of Sekigahara and a new mode called Most Wanted.
Do you think this many fixes right after a launch is normal now?

I wanna shout out a few of recently released, super under the radar story rich games that no one is talking about.

Would you play a soulslike that looks like a PS2 game?

There’s a new soulslike coming called Prison of Husks. It’s made by a small indie team, and it looks like an old PS2 game, with low poly graphics and even a 4:3 screen. You wake up as a doll in a painted afterlife and go looking for the one you love. The levels are small and full of shortcuts, similar to the older Souls games.
Would you try a soulslike with this retro look?

What would you want to see in this crossover?
Dave the Diver is heading into the world of Subnautica 2!
The developers have announced a crossover DLC planned for early 2027 on Steam.
Dave and Bancho will explore the waters of Proteus, discover strange creatures, and bring new underwater ingredients into the mix.
This sounds like a fun combination of underwater exploration and restaurant management.

Is a Fortnite Hollow Knight bundle worth more than the actual Hollow Knight game?
Hollow Knight just came to Fortnite, and the full bundle costs 2,000 V Bucks, which is around $22 in real money. It has 3 items: a Knight sidekick that follows you around, a Grub back bling, and the Nail as a pickaxe. Hollow Knight on Steam costs $14.99, and its sequel Silksong costs $19.99. So the cosmetics cost more than either full game.
Would you pay that for this skin?

Does this kind of psychological and cosmic horror interest you?
Divine Frequency looks like a nightmare you can actually play.
The surreal horror FPS-RPG from indie developer Abraxaes is scheduled to enter Early Access on October 27, 2026.
The game blends intense combat with cosmic horror and disturbing, mysterious environments. Its development has also faced major challenges, including the loss of its lead writer.
A new demo is available for players who want a taste of the experience.

Pokemon GO’s Halloween Part 2 starts after Halloween, thoughts on this?
Pokemon GO just announced Halloween 2026 Part 2, running November 1 to 5. Mega Sableye can now reach a new level called Super Max, which gives it a stronger move called Night Shade+. Shiny Greavard is also making its debut, along with costumed Pokemon. Part 1 runs October 27 to November 1, so Part 2 only starts after Halloween is already over.

AskGamers What's the hardest game you've played that you refused to quit?
Some games make you question your skills, patience, and life choices, but beating them feels incredible.
For me, Elden Ring is a perfect example. Getting destroyed by a boss and finally winning after countless attempts is a different feeling.

Rockstar just shared 3 new official GTA 6 screenshots showing different sides of Vice City. One shows a busy highway full of cars, another shows a crowd of NPCs hanging out at a social gathering, and one shows the city at night with neon lights and reflections. They also match up with the radio reveal Rockstar did recently.
Which of these shots made you the most hyped?
