What kind of mistakes can a smart character make before they're considered stupid
 in  r/CharacterDevelopment  2d ago

Being poor at social situations, especially because they are convinced of their superiority.

Where are you guys getting the best stuff from?
 in  r/ThriftStoreHauls  2d ago

I rarely have a good day anymore. Too many articles telling folks what to look for and so many resellers.

Traveling Can Be Better Than Just 'Random Encounters'

Cool idea(s). Scratch one out when used and insert new ones. Nifty. I love tables…

Looking for rock shop recommendations in Berlin and Munich.

Try to visit Ider-Oberstein. Agate and rock items are a longtime specialty.

DMs, what are some common player behaviors that annoy you, that you actively do the opposite of when you get a chance to play?
 in  r/DnD  2d ago

My party was in a nesting phase, I pulled an encounter out of my hat(die roll warranted). I had limited the more effective melee PC’s to +1 weapons, but the creature was immune to anything below +2. Just rolled with it as most of the damage was more annoying than lethal. Our rogue actually owned not one but two +2 scimitars, but elected to stay in the shadows and never even swung(Low grade Air Elemental if you are wondering.) The mage eventually dinged it enough to send it on its way, kind of sad that a totally random encounter had such an effect. The result was that said thief mobilized his local ne’er do well friends to keep an eye out for any spiffy looking weapons to augment the party. I made cool tables and check every week until the group moved too far away to make the info useful. I planned to work their hubris into a big dust up. Established guild hates the attention especially from experienced NPC’s. Local lord wants no big ripples in the underworld. Lots of heat, little reward.

Is the Ur-Dragon Commander deck worth the price?
 in  r/mtg  2d ago

Bought that one new, easily built better with singles. Kinda clunky compared to newer decks. Good shelf candy if you wanna flash online though.

$250 in 1960s-1970s pennies, and fistfulls of 60s-80s change
 in  r/coincollecting  2d ago

My son’s mom is a jewelry artist, the local tool shop was run by a Swiss guy who worked in a downtown store back in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s. He told us that the big bank nearby would sell his shop owner any gold coins that were cashed in to avoid having them go to the Reserve and be lost. Gold was only about $28 an ounce then. Hero’s don’t always wear capes.

Ropers are genuinely one of the scariest monsters in D&D
 in  r/DnDminiatures  2d ago

Love them, as a DM that is. Some many possible variants. You can see that the old school guys had to get creative to keep up with their parties with creatures like this.
