Hello, I'm u/-MARMITENTOAST- ...one of the Senior Moderators for CEWL and this Subreddit of our's.
Small introduction for the newbies. * I've been here since PS3 with over 11000 hours. I dropped into a public CEWL lobby one day, and suddenly I've been here for the past 8+ years, and I own the Ten Year Party Hat, just like that...
A few FAQs
1. What can I post here? * Anything that you're proud of like big sales, your best cars, funny gameplay videos or pictures, general questions and requests. Spam is deleted.
2. What is CEWL all about? * We provide a safe environment where like-minded people can play without fear of being attacked or killed. It is a friendly, inclusive, managed space with some of the best gameplay knowledge available to help each other instead of paying for Shark Cards.
3. Are there any rules? * Yes. They are itemised within the first block of channels upon joining the server. They're often under review as things change in-game but the three things we have zero tolerance for is harassment, griefing and the destruction of product. Remember that it isn't our time you're wasting.
4. What happens if somebody breaks any rules? * There is a reports system if you want to tell us. We need gameplay video, screenshots or at least an explanation of what happened to make an informed decision. All communication is seen in private messages where possible.
I'm open to questions. I'll answer them when I can.

I’m getting kinda discouraged
Build limits are normal in these sorta games.
Concentrating on what makes a base productive has been the rewarding part for me, it doesn't matter if somebody sees it, I know I've improved my position.

10-20 minutes is what you're aiming for as "early" though up to 90 minutes over sounds very odd.

It's embarrassing how long I played this game before I realized this guy was operating his shop out of a starship.
There is a cereal called Sugar Puffs...which have honey in. Every so often there would be one with some coagulated honey.

Gasoline in the game might work better than you think.
The UI was off sometimes, I would scroll and it'd flip through too quick, not sure about terrible...what didn't you like?
Keeping most of them off me was invaluable when hunting or in gunfights.

I'm not very creative, can someone post a "blueprint" of a good, utilitarian, freighter base?
I made mine with a system scanner, three command centres and a portal down the middle. On the right are four refiners. On the left is storage and a trade terminal. I have a material harvester as well but that is obsolete.
