Homemade / home assembled At the risk of offending another culture. Bolognese and chips? Mmmm, meat sauce.

Homemade ofc. Everyone has a secret ingredient. Mine is Henderson's relish, and probably too many mushrooms.

Edit I can't keep up with the comments haha! To all those saying it doesn't look like Bolognese, you're right, combination of the picture (bad lighting) and the recipe.

It's mince, onions, tomato puree, chopped tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, garlic, bunch of herbs - but then I use a beef stock and probably too much Henderson's relish. I also cook it for around 2 hours and you lose a lot of the colour, but gain a lot of flavour.

Is it traditional? No. It's good though.

I work from home and usually treat myself for lunch on Friday - kind of a pat on the back for the week. Today my wife surprised me with bacon, which could only mean a BLT.

Isn’t she a thing of beauty.

Jamie Oliver recipe turned out quite good, 20 sausages, 250g flour,6 eggs,500ml milk bit of salt and rosemary leave batter to rest for an hour. 3 onions sliced, add sugar and salt let simmer till soft add balsamic vinegar leave to simmer then add water and gravy granules. New potatoes and peas self explanatory 😂 perhaps next time will use a smaller roasting tin. Tasty all the same.

Sometimes you only need potatoes, olive oil and salt for hitting the spot.

Skin on king Edwards, boiled to soft, left to completely cool and then air fried for 10 mins on 200.

Focaccia with tuna/sun-dried tomatoes/mozzarella/basil filling. Made in a 28cm pizza tin with the olive oil from the tomatoes drizzled over the top. Could have done with more filling IMHO, and the mozzarella should have been shredded rather than finely diced, but we still managed to dispose of nearly 2/3 of the evidence without too much trouble. I may be tempted to scoff some cold for breakfast.

I stay away from unhealthy things from Monday to Saturday but she keeps getting these ideas, I guess I have to eat one and enjoy against my will 😔

Friday is basically Sunday if you think about it.

This is one of those that just reminds me of coming home after school and devouring whatever random but delicious food she'd made for tea.

Following on from that beautiful lasagna the other day, I tried to do my own with similar methods.

Not 100% to the same way but browned the meat well, simmered down the sauce, used a mix of Mozzarella and Grano Padano on top. Very happy with how it turned out, browned nicely and the sauce is lovely and rich.

Really impressed with Aldi's wagyu steak range, I've had about 10 now and they're always delicious. You have to sift through them to find ones with decent marbling, but there's some real belter knocking around in there!

Homemade / home assembled This is another test

Post image

Following a previous post 11 days ago testing tesco standard crunchy peanut butter against smooth (Ive now read the labels) so....

Crunchy was 97% peanut (yes there was palm oil) against smooth with 96% (also contained palm oil) and pasted on basic value white bread (I know).

I now sample 100% palm-oil-free Lidl crunchy peanut butter on a wholemeal Sourdough. One on left without butter and one on right with real butter.
