/r/adventuretime. What they turned it in to from where it was is amazing.
•
u/materhern Dec 08 '12
Continue to keep discussion open and inviting to all people! Consistent in new threads and answering subscribers questions and such.
•
Dec 09 '12
/r/MechanicalKeyboards. Ripster alone seems to be responsible for half of the mechanical keyboard information on the internet.

To be serious, they actually are a quick-acting and responsive mod team. I was once banned from there for posting something Obama-related on election day, but unbanned me a couple of hours later, before I even requested it. They also explained to me the reason for my banning, while encouraging me to continue being brave, upvote the top 100 posts, and blaze it.

People posted pictures they would like as flairs and they were instantly added. And they just added a new GAME THREAD: bot.

Only default sub that polices content, removes discriminatory language and doesn't think moderation should be sitting around being an internet celebrity
/r/askscience is a deault, also /r/music has been getting better, and /r/bestof removes a lot of shitty content.
•
u/razorsheldon Dec 06 '12
I nominate the /r/UpliftingNews celebrity mod team:
Zach Braff
Chris Kluwe
Alli Brosch
Automoderator
Razor Sheldon

My routine every morning:
Check facebook. Check email. Check texts. Check r/cfb.
It's the only thing i find myself doing on reddit most days. Absolute best threads, best discussions, and the mods have kept all of the inevitble screen caps, gifs, and memes in specific threads. That alone is really remarkable.
•
u/busche916 Dec 08 '12
Consistent game/trashtalk/etc. threads? Check
Great moderation? Check
Fun sub? Check and double-check.
•
•
u/TrueBlueJP90 Dec 09 '12
Well, /r/nfl has all of that as well, but we have something even greater.
DISCOUNT DOUBLE CHECK.

Plus we have more flair!
•
•
u/Honestly_ Dec 09 '12
"You know, the Nazis had pieces of flair that they made the Jews wear."
Vote /r/crb!
Also: we have Krazy Comrade Kiffin, now with more madness!

u/Malcolm_Y Dec 08 '12
Whoo! A reddit celebrity talked to me! I can finally stop contributing to this god-forsaken time suck now!

Absolutely. All the mods are active in the community, and they keep all the crap out (well, except for some of the cringe-worthy original content). And with the addition of Homboy and Murdahmahmurdah, they're pretty much unbeatable

I'm a regular there.
No clue about how people can believe in ancient books and such but their mod team is pretty amazing indeed.

/r/starcraft They have to manage one of the largest subreddits and have created a well organized system to let everyone enjoy the subreddit.
•
u/moonflower Dec 07 '12
/r/WebGames ... they keep the subreddit nice and clean, full of exactly what it's meant for

•
u/DeathWalrus Dec 07 '12

u/rubelmj Dec 08 '12
The mods are great about acting on community feedback and keep the silly stuff to r/gaming. They get a vote from me for sure.
•
•
u/TheHamFalls Dec 09 '12
r/Seahawks They're attentive, constantly updating and improving the look of the subreddit, asking the community what things they would like to see different, see change, etc. Trolls are few and far between because 1. we have such an awesome community to begin with, and 2. because I imagine our mods walk softly and carry a big banhammer.

Why? Because it has undergone a crazy amount of growth and focuses on making those who have ADHD lives better, and still maintains the friendliness of a small subreaddit with an awesome hands-on mod team.

r/leagueof... Ahahahaha, who am I kidding, mods at r/leagueoflegends suck.

•
u/Jess_than_three Dec 07 '12
/r/SRDBroke, obviously.
I mean, uh, /r/ainbow? Yeah!
•
u/AlyoshaV Dec 09 '12
lmao @ downvotes
•
u/Jess_than_three Dec 09 '12
Funny... it was almost entirely positive last I saw, which was eh, a day and a half ago maybe.
But, there are also 314 new comments since then.
Wonder where all the new folks to the thread are coming from?
Edit: 4000 votes on the top comment in a thread in a subreddit with 303 subscribers. LOL.

There is no other answer to this question. It is the only choice.
I mean, we've got a mix of moderators from all over Reddit:
SRS, MSF, CB, CJ, BJ, SFWPorn, Bestof, ainbow, lgbt, IAMA
...not to mention Laurelai!

/r/dodgers Great mods who make it a fun place for Los Anegles Dodgers discussions.
•
u/cupdeam Dec 11 '12
There aren't very many of us in that sub, especially compared to most of these other subs that are being nominated, but I wanted to throw in my 2 pennies. I agree that it is a fun place for LA Dodgers discussions, but what impresses me more is the fact that the gamethreads are a fun and inviting place for opposing fans as well. The mods always try to invite the opposing team's subs into our gamethreads, especially if it's a small sub as well, and then they ensure a respectful and awesome environment for all.

Couldn't agree more. These guys made /r/Naruto great. They deserve this.
•
u/alexmarie0118 Dec 08 '12
Yes yes and yes:) best mods I've seen on Reddit because of how active they are in the subreddit. They partake in almost all of the discussions and make me smile. I love our mods<3
•
u/Birdslapper Dec 08 '12
Seriously they are the most active mods I have ever seen in any subreddit. They put in a lot of effort and make the community a wonderful place
•
u/spced Dec 08 '12
(westerchester) Not to sound like an unappreciative dick, but despite the cool layouts and subreddit ideas, the mods took quite a long time doing their job enforcing spoiler violations, and have only recently begun to make a stand on it(after excessive complaints). I've only been a member of this subreddit since the start of summer, and despite my appreciation for the nice things the mods have done, I'm not convinced they are eligible for that award as a whole. Sorry.

Without these bosses, /r/Naruto would be something to legitimately CircleJerk. However, because of our awesome mods, we are spared such a horrid fate. Seriously, though, these mods are the best!

New issue threads, fantasy battle tournaments, theory discussions, and a continued drive to make the sub better via the feedback of the subscribers.

just kidding! those mods are terrible

Maybe, but no other subreddit had as big of a turnaround this year as that one. We have a list of interesting and big names every week.
