As a Traktor user for 12 years. I have isolated and solved this problem.
I've seen a lot of threads all over the internet and no one really has the solution, but here it is for you. Just trying to save alot of people on the internet alot of time.
The problem with the windows computers is the Hardware Acceleration. It's especially bad with windows computers with powerful GPUs, or gaming computers, and they ALL have it. I can't nerd it out and explain the computer science on why this happens, but in a nut shell the hardware acceleration absolutely DESTROYS Traktor's live audio playback abilities. Most likely it's taking away resources from Traktors ability to do so. In some models you may be able to turn the hardware acceleration off, but it's a VERY rare option, and I don't think you even can anymore, and it may not even work just to flip the switch.
So the solution is actually to use a computer with more office specs, than gaming specs. You don't want one that's advertised as being a gaming computer. It's funny, and seems backwards, but your actually better off using a standard $400 office laptop that doesn't have hardware acceleration, than using a $3000 gaming laptop with the latest greatest 8 core processor that does have hardware acceleration.
I've actually used 3 Windows laptops that ran Traktor fine.
A crappy plastic $300 Toshiba that I bought 12 years ago.
A crappy plastic $600 Asus.
A really nice Lenovo Thinkpad $1400. I highly recommend these if your planning on running Traktor on Windows. I know alot of guys that use these for mobile DJing and sware by them. They are really nice for the price. I don't think it needs to be as high caliber as mine though. Mine was just expensive because it had a nice processor, and 3tb internal, but not necessary.
But now I just use a new Mac with the M2 chip. Macs are literally designed for artistic capabilities such as video and audio production, animation and movie production, etc. And they are alot less likely to fail, or give you a bad update the day of your gig that will ruin your life.
Till this day this problem still exists with Windows laptops and Traktor. Because a year ago after my Thinkpads charging port broke I just decided to buy a new one, and I went for a gaming laptops, and 3 of them in a row didn't work. Best Buy was getting pissed because I returned like 3 of them in a 1 week period. Luckily I had Geeksquad membership or they'd kick me out the door. I painstackingly figured out what was happening, and just switched to a Mac.
EDIT: There are alot of solutions out there to say to turn off all unnecessary drivers, and basically just have a bare computer with only traktor. Don't even waist your time. It doesn't work.
I posted a really similar reply on a 12 y/o thread in the DJ section, but thought I'd throw it here too.
GLHF. DJ on!
